  1. I can't stand the jerk. I relocated from Rochester to SW Florida and most of these Floridians think that anyone from the U walks on water. I'm tired of his mouth, he's embarassing. I like the kind of players that the new regime have been accumalating, now go get a RB with the same kind of character. I hope that they realize this and get rid of this moron before he bangs us with a new contract.
  2. I don't think much of MaGahee, I think he's an idiot. Speaking of a Turner, how about San Diego's Michael Turner? He might become available and he would be a nice addition.
  3. Here's a novel idea, why don't the Bills dial up the Titans and see if we can trade MaGahee for Travis Henry. Oooh, that one is gonna hurt!
  4. Talley is by far my favorite Buffalo Bill. Always has been, always will be. Quick story. In the mid '80s my brother worked the sidelines as a medic's assistant. It was a home game against San Diego and Fouts was still the QB. Each half my brother worked each team's sideline. After the game he only had two remarks. First one was he said Fouts was totally cool. The other comment was that he NEVER seen anyone as intense as Darryl Talley. There is one thing that should be told. My brother is not too keen on Buffalo and he has always tortured me about my loyalty to the Bills. The praise about Talley was much larger coming from a non Buffalo fan because it was that evident. As far as I'm concerned, Talley is a HOF. I'll never forget what he gave to this organization. Here's a where are they now article. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/AlumniSpo...arrylTalley.jsp
  5. Less not forget that the pick was against Brady. I'm thrilled to see the production that we're getting out of Donte. He seems to be quite a heads up athlete, but as good as he's recognizing plays, it's even more exciting to realize that it's probably more of our scheme than it is him just being a great player. If things/players progress like the last two games, then I think the Bills' faithful are going to be very satisfied at the end of the season. Go Bills!
  6. I hope that history can repeat itself. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060920/1048315.asp
  7. Word has it that they didn't believe the results, they want to recount the score.
  8. C'mon, you can't really be that superstitious now can you? It's football, people can and will get hurt. We've been fortunate so far, I hope it keeps going.
  9. Hey BoondckCL, who's gonna give me the ass woopin', you or the pretty boys in your avatar?
  10. Outside of Spikes and Vincent, we haven't really any season ending injuries to key players. Spikes seems to be only temporary and with Vincent it seems to be a blessing disguise so far. He's a player in his twilight and with him out our young players are getting a chance to play and gain experience. I think if you had to pick a player that we could least afford to lose, I would have to say at this point it would have to be Losman. Who would of thunk???!!
  11. Amen MRW, that's exactly what I was going to mention. They didn't make mention of Moorman's punt until 2 or 3 plays later. How about towards the end of the game that these 2 idiots were talking about the tempo of Miami's offense was set on the very first play of the game when Daunte fumbled and it put the whole offense behind. GFive me a break! It's alright, I'm curious to see what these "experts are going to say when Buffalo is playing good football and beating some good teams. Wonder what the excuse will be then.
  12. It's got to be Miami by a landslide. If I were to ever to move on from my disdain of Miami, that Brian Cox and Louis Oliver just made it impossible. I'll never forget seeing that idiot Oliver in a filmclip after they beat us in Buffalo saying that "He was gonna ride that Buffalo all the way back to Miami" or some crap like that. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed hearing through the years all the former Dolphin players saying how bad they were tortured when they would play in Buffalo. It sure would irk me if that baby Mularkey has anything to do in beating us. On the other hand, if things blow up in his face come Sunday, I will pay for a picture of that wimp cowering on the sidelines. PS- Wasn't it glorious when NT Jeff Wright would sack Marino almost on a regular basis? Ahh, those were the days!
  13. Even if we were to win 2 out of the 3, it would still be a fantastic start to our season. How in the world do we get 3 straight division games to start our season? To add insult to injury, 2 of them are on the road!
  14. Not only would that make them undefeated but the wins would all be in the division, two of them on the road. That sure would put a different spin on this division race and season now wouldn't it? Of course it all starts with the Patriots. If Buffalo could somehow pull this game off, imagine the boost it would give this team heading into Miami and then home for the Jets. If Buffalo does win their first game then I'm going to start buying into this possibility.
  15. I'm so sick and tired of hearing and reading that we don't stand a chance. It very well could go the way the general public believes, but don't think for a minute that this isn't a very dangerous game for New England. There is a few very possible scenarios that can unfold. a) It's easier to get your timing down with defense than it is with offense. This is the first game of the year and we DO possess speed. Brady better be accurate. b) I like that it has been so lopsided with the general consesus. You don't think that the Bills' players aren't aware that nobody on this planet gives them a chance to win? Oh by the way, I really like the way that the players have hustling and flying to the ball, haven't seen that in awhile. c) Losman will have more success in this game than what people would ever think. I'm sure he'll make some mistakes in the game but I also believe that he will hook up on a couple/few long balls. Belichek is a great master of the secondary, but once again, we do have speed on this side of the ball also. d) The O-line will success in this game also. I don't believe that they will be bulldozing the Patriots, but they at the same time will win their share of the battles up front. I think that this will be the first time that we realize of how much of an upgrade Fowler is over Teague. Reguardless of how successful the longball will be, it will still set up MaGahee for a big game. He should be having a field day against the Patriots 3-4 defense. e) I have great respect for Belichek but who doesn't? I got news for you, I like our coach too, and I think our players do also. I don't know when this guy is going to get the respect from around the league that he deserves but that's ok too, the guy is no slouch. It wasn't a coincidence that he won coach of the year in '01. I gave enough reasons for why I believe that the Bills COULD pull an upset, maybe you agree maybe you don't. I can respect that, but here it is anyways. The game is high scoring. At first it looks like the Patriots are going to blow us out. They race out to 10-13 points while we struggle to get a fieldgoal. Brady is playing solid like usual but then he has a costly pick. During this span their run game is doing good, too good but Losman & Co do answer back with some big time plays at the right time. We are back in the game, but still behind, the score is 27 to 23 Patriots. Now it's late 3rd quarter, spilling into the fourth, we're playing a bend but not break defense. Now here is where it gets good. Our offense, of all culpits, comes through in the clutch! Go figure. We get the lead, maybe for the first time in the whole stinking game with a Losman to Evans TD! The Bills are up by 3. The Patriots get the ball now with about 5 minutes to go in the game. They start to feel the heat but they are home and they feel confident. They start marching, but they don't tear off any big chunks of real estate. The Buffalo fans are sweating it big time. We have seen this before and expect it. The Patriots are inside our 25 with a first down and about a minute twenty to go. Are you ready to turn off the TV yet? I can't do it. Why? Because I live and die with the Bills, besides, this young underdog has been playing their hearts out all game and that's all I could ask of them. I'm now prepared for what I'm about to witness. It's that same bittersweet feeling that I have had with this organization so many times before, but it's ok, I'm still willing to show some patience and look for the good out of this loss. Here it is, Brady hands off to Dillion. Dillion tries to go up the middle but gets bounced back and he tries to go off tackle but Spikes TKOs him for a minimal gain. Clocks keeps ticking, it's under a minute. Brady is back under center, takes the snap, fakes a hand off and starts looking towards the end zone. He goes to throw but instead pumps the ball once and then starts to roll outside of the pocket. He looks and throws towards the sideline to Watson. The pass is broken up, it's 3rd down and the clock is approaching the 40 second mark. Here it goes, it's almost to tough to watch. Brady, ooh if he wasn't so good I could really despise that guy, is back under center. The snap, the drop back, the LOOK! Brady pumps one way then turns the other way and lets it fly towards the corner. BLAMMO! Whitner looks like superman and he comes out of nowheres and slaps the ball harmlessly away. Whew! That was gonna be game! Oh well, here comes the fieldgoal unit for the tie. Overtime isn't so bad is it? Anything can happen right? At least we got our thrills worth. So much for all the "experts" who thought we were nothing but scrubs. We never quit! Anyways, back to the fieldgoal. They line up but at least there isn't any Vinateri. I don't know who this goober is kicking but can a miracle happen? Yeah, right. Here's the snap, the ball is put down and here is the kick but wait! Jason "Peterbuilt" Peters has done it again! The loadman has blocked a game winning fieldgoal. The Bills win a nailbiter, 30 to 27! I'm only trying to have some fun and enjoy being hopeful. What it boils down to is it doesn't matter what the outcome is, Buffalo is my team, as it is for most of you. I do believe Buffalo could win this game, just like every game that I ever watch them play, so keep the faith, it can happen. Go Bills!
  16. I heard a caller on Sirius radio tonight and he stated that he met the Vikings owner Zygi Wilf and was thoroughly impressed with his character. According to the caller, Mr. Wilf is practicing what he is preaching, with the hiring of Coach Childress and what he wants implemented in his organization. The caller was discussing this thought with Moose Johnson and stated further that he thinks having high character players on a team helps increases the percentage of future success for the team and organization. He was basing his theory on the fact that there would be less jeopardy of having players having legal troubles, up and down performances and having team unity and contentment. Moose not only agreed with him but also went on and stated that there is more and more organizations thinking along these lines and mostly because of the salary cap. Johnson said that owners/organizations simply don't want to invest big dollars on players that they can't trust or rely on. This made me believe all the more in what Marv & Co. are doing for the Bills' organization, not only for the present but more importantly, for the future.
  17. Kiss Haynes good-bye, six teams placed waiver claims on him and the Saints had first rights. Oh well, let's see if the Bills' braintrusts have anything up their sleeves.
  18. New England getting a 1st rder from Seattle and a first day pick from the Jets is more in tune to what the Patriots were looking for in compensation. Seattle lands up with Coles and the Jets land up with Branch, minus Coles and a first day pick. Both Seattle and the Jets were willing to give up a high draft choice for Branch, so yes, this scenario is possible. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Patriots taking a shot at WR Tyrone Calico either. He's the type of player that they have been scooping up in the last few years.
  19. Seeing that 2 out of the 3 teams are in our division, I thought I'd take a shot at a prediction. It would make sense for New England to let this mess go and put an end to all this ugly publicity. I could see the Jets sending Laveranues Coles to Seattle and Seattle in turn, sending a 1st rd pick in next year's draft to New England. The Jets also would send a later first day pick (3rd rder?) to New England for Branch. New England then receives the compensation that they were looking for. I don't think everything is hunky dory with Seattle's WR Darrell Jackson and this trade would provide the Seahawks with that starting WR that they may be needing. Coach Mangini is well aware of Branch's abilities and this would provide him the opportunity to start his term with one of his players. They are also very high on Jerricho Cotchery and it wouldn't surprise me if WR Justin McCareins is not far behind Coles in being traded for a player or future draft pick. The only hold-up here would be his contract, but if there were enough desire from another team, this could be worked out.
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Haynes a DT? By the way, I did't see any cuts from Baltimore either. I still think that the Bills need help in the middle and Haynes is a young player. As far as his ability and character goes, I don't have an accurate gauge. If I'm not mistaken, Houston has the first waiver claim right. Any input on this would be appreciated.
  21. The Bears released DT Michael Haynes. That's interesting, I wonder if Jauron is tempted. http://www.nfl.com/transactions
  22. Chris Villarrial.
  23. He got wobbled pretty good on a fumbled snap. It looked like Dallas' trainer was giving him some kind of sobriety test on the sidelines. These pre season games are dangerous for teams' starters. Bledsoe got some face scrapes and didn't look too good. It makes you appreciate when your team doesn't take these garbage type injuries in meaningless games. I sure hope that we stay healthy until the regular season, we need as much as an advantage as we can get.
  24. Didn't Volek decline playing for us? From McNair to Mason to Volek, guys who were the face, or were supposed to be, of the Tennessee Titans, were locked out, waived or just jerked around. I think that this organization not only smashed into a wall but are nowheres near rebounding into a franchise where players would want to stay or go to to play. In the last few years there has also been some notable LBs and DBs who were scrapped. Of course when I realized about the stability of this franchise, it made me feel better about our situation. The only thing that makes me nervous about our stability is the age of our owner and top administrator. We can at least enjoy the manner in which we are dealing with our personnel. If we can squeeze a few more years out of our seniors, then I think we can be proud of our organization and where it's heading.
