I see RB Chris Brown in Buffalo blues.
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just think that Brown is a real good player who hasn't stayed healthy. I also believe that he has to and wants to prove some critics wrong. He also would be a good compliment with A-Train. -
Signing Chris Brown, resigning A-Train and taking a RB with our first (Lynch) or second rd (Bush) pick would solidify our RB position and allow us to rid ourselves of the Great MaGahee. What I would rather see is us trading MaGahee and our 2nd rder (Green Bay) and move up into the 1st rd and secure Bush.
-
Marv has preached since day one on what he wants to build and establish for a team. Looking to move out MaGahee now accomplishes two things. First, an average RB who could really care that he plays for us is unacceptable. Secondly, retain some kind of compensation before Willis and his super agent tells us to stick it. I wouldn't be surprise that if come draft day we still have Willis and we can obtain a blue chip RB with our first pick, Marv accepts a late 2nd rd (Giants?) or a early 3rd rder. Enough is enough, boot this idiot while we can still get something for him.

Would RB Michael Bush be worth our 2nd rd pick?
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect Buffalo to really select a defensive player with our 1st pick simply because of the lack of quality players on that side of the ball in this year's draft. That being said, I think an offensive player being taken by us with our 2nd rder would be alright with me, whether it be a TE or a RB. Matter of fact, this is something I would like to see us do with our draft and free agency. First, sign up OT Jon Stinchcomb from the Saints, Cincy's OG Eric Steinbach, Baltimore's LB Adalius Thomas and the Patriots' TE Daniel Graham. In the draft we select DT Amobi Okoye with our 1st pick, RB Michael Bush with our 2nd rder and Oklahoma's LB Rufus Alexander with our 3rd rder. I admit that I don't really understand all the ins and outs of free agency or this "cash to cap" crap but what I do understand is that we have alot of money to spend and have alot of needs to fill, so let's do it before Ralph, Marv and myself die! -
The Patriots' WR Chad Jackson has a torn ACL.
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although the defense is aging, I think that replacing defensive players may prove to be easier to replace than a skilled position player, especially a draft that is challenged at the WR spot. Givens and Patten were productive while they played for New England but I would find it hard to say that they were top tier WRs, not that anyone was inferring that. Jackson looked to be a bright spot but you can shelf that notion now. Gaffney could produce later dividends but I think Caldwell showed his true meddle when it came to crunch time. The Patriots do need ALOT more than Jabar at this point with the WR position. I also have to question the pecking order of the Boston Globe reporter now that Samuel has been tagged. While the Patriots may not trade up with their two 1st rd picks to obtain one of the blue chip WRs, I do expect them to use one of their picks in the 1st rd on a WR. Does this seem unrealistic? -
With two 1st rd picks, I would think that they make it a strong possibility of being one of the teams looking to move up in the draft. I like Detroit's draft position, they could really cash in that #2 pick. New England usually isn't the kind of team that goes chasing after a player or a position but they really do need help at the WR position. I'm sure that they would love to get Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson. That would be a scary thought.

Jets release RB Barlow, OL Teague
Tipster19 replied to CarolinaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't be surprised if they make a deal with the Redskins for Duckworth. These two teams seem to always interchange their players. -
I liked reading about Fletcher wanting to stay and how he likes the direction of our team. Hopefully this will come into play with not only him but possibly Kelsay and others. Unfortunately, I don't think that it will sway Clements' thinking too much. While we will lose some players, we might not lose as many as first were feared. Having a potential bright future playing for Buffalo and it's administrators may lead to other ramifications like attracting outside FAs. Money is always a motivator but I think playing for stand-up representatives and an organization heading in the right direction may still carry more weight than one might realize. Hopefully this is our situation. Does this seem realistic or am I living in another era?

Saints' T Jon Stinchcomb. Maybe I'm wrong but I do believe a UFA. Any info or input would be welcomed. http://www.neworleanssaints.com/playerbio.cfm?playerid=110

I know, I'm just name grabbing, wanting a former 1st rd pick who just happens to play in our division. It's not an area that we should be too concerned with, we're loaded with TEs. I don't know what I was thinking!
-
With Asante Samuel getting tagged, that will leave Graham on the open market. He would be a huge upgrade to our TE position and we have plenty of cash to spend. If we can sign him this will omit one less concern going into the draft. I sure would like to see us use a first day pick(s) in addressing our offensive line. How about you?

Projected 2007 NFL Salary Cap Space for Each Team
Tipster19 replied to ThreeBillsDrive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, thanks for providing the info ThreeBillsDrive. I can't imagine the Bills having all this room and not using it. I'm really starting to look forward to the draft/FA. -
He just may be a cap casualty. Carolina can also get beneath the cap by releasing defensive end Mike Rucker, which will save them $4.4 million. However, Foster could be a casualty if team officials believe DeAngelo Williams is ready to take over. I'd be real interested in seeing how the rest of the league is faring in retaining their players.

There's plenty of money to spend in free agency and the Marv shows people hoe to do it. First, he takes care of in house business and resigns Nate. Secondly he forks over the cash and makes a big splash with some choice FAs. LB Adalius Thomas, TE Daniel Graham don Buffalo blue next year and we select DT Amobi Okoye with our 1st pick in the draft. With our second and third rd picks we address our O-Line and a compliment, possible successor, to MaGahee/Thomas. On our second day picks we go defense, defense/O-line and defense/O-line. I would like to see about a possible WR. I'm waiting to see who gets cut before I add him to the wishlist, if none is worthy then I hope we get a Colston type steal with our 6th or 7th pick instead of a defensive/O-lineman. Aaah, the beauty of daydreaming.

clements & fletcher to skins???
Tipster19 replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let Fletcher go, I'd rather trade down, pick up a LB and multiple picks and fill some other needs thru free agency. It would be huge if this McCargo move were to pan out. -
With plenty of areas of need, salary cap limits and lack of draft picks, I think that some team will work out a deal with them. Moving back in the first round would be a start on spending less money. I can't imagine Daniel "I've got to make a deal" Snyder is going to be content to have his second pick come in the 5th rd, especially that they have so many needs to address. Is there somebody worth us moving up for at the #6 spot? Somebody is going to be dialing up Washington come draft day. New England does have two 1st rd picks, so they could be a good candidate and Shanahan/Denver wouldn't be a shocker neither, they also like to wheel and deal. If Baltimore really needs/wants an RB (Peterson), would this be a good move to get in front of Houston? Between FAs, resigning own players and trades, there is still alot of changes to happen before this draft shakes out.

Marty Schottenheimer fired!
Tipster19 replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think that AJ did it purposely but I do believe that he took great delight in jamming it to Marty. I think that there is alot of truth to the fact that their coaching staff pretty much got decimated and then these two can't stand each other. Too much dissension and not enough stability, something had to give and AJ has done one heck of a job. The proof is in the pudding, they got a great team with alot of depth. Marty is known for not being able to go all the way, not that I believe that that last game was his fault, but the players do have to make the plays and not crumble. I think that Spanos came to the realization that it would be better and easier to replace his coach rather than his GM. I also believe that when this decision was made, he already had somebody in mind for Marty's replacement. I would think that it's an established coach, someone like Parcells or a few other ones that were mentioned. I would think that the replacement will be announced by the weekend. -

Maybe adding Parcells would be some kind of a pay back to Dallas for hiring Phillips. How nice that would be, AJ showing up JJ. Ha! -

Are there Tunas in California? One would think that they wouldn't have let Cam leave if they were planning on booting Marty. How strange! -
Great input from both of you, I'd have to agree. It still wouldn't to let it be known that we would be willing to consider a trade down from our current slot. We should at least try and open more options to benefit us. This is probably still too early, but as we near the draft I'll be curious to see if this comes into play.

Picking 12th is right around the area where we might not be getting who we want or need. Trading down alittle or alot, based on the compensation, with a team who is looking at a player or a position to fill in around that slot. Obviously if there is a player that Marv & Co. really wants then we keep the pick. Last year it looked like they were really bent on getting Whitner so they could start making the kind of defense that they want to work. If there is not that type of player available for us, I think we would be better served to trade down and accumalate more 1st day picks. Someone like Baltimore, who looks to be needing a successor to Jamal Lewis, could be a team interested in the neighborhood of our pick. Their pick is #29 and I wouldn't mind using that pick on someone like Penn St.s' LB Paul Posluszny. The compensation could come in the form of a current player(s) and/or pick(s). I'm only using Baltimore as an example, feel free to add your own trade scenario.

Ronde Barber turns Chad Johnson over to Taylor and he looked like he was standing in a muck field. This pos couldn't cover a saucepot.
