  1. An amusing post. I too agree with the RB Chris Brown prediction. I also won't be surprised if we sign OT Jon Stinchcomb, TE Daniel Graham, LB Napoleon Harris and WR Ashley Lelie.
  2. With no stand out Guards, the inevitable loss of Clements, the desire of trading MaGahee and not having a RB stable and now not being enarmored with our LB corp, does this mean we are going to make a big splash in free agency and/or the draft?
  3. The end is getting nearer for MaGahee and the Bills and it may even get alot more uglier. Remember Travis Henry? This situation is/will be unrepairable.
  4. Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt the great CB debate but in that article, did it seem that Cato June could be a real possibility for us and our defense?
  5. Going into free agency and the draft, the concerns seemed to be for a DT, O-linemen, Clements replacement and other possible infusions in the secondary that we just recently seemed to stabilze but it now seems that LB is huge need and concern. I'm curious how much and successfully we address it with FAs. If this position isn't more solidified by the draft then I think this would be an immediate need. I think trading down becomes a little more realistic. Before I forget, does the resigning and realigning of Coy Wire become a great move? Not that I'm suggesting that Coy is any kind of replacement for any of our current starters at LB but for important depth and continuity. I would love for this to work out not only for Wire but also for our senile, eighth overall safety picking fool of a GM. I really do respect the job Marv has done so far. Go Bills!
  6. Great read. Thanks. Marv took alot of heat, I think he made a great choice.
  7. Moulds has gotten to the point where he's just flat out embarrassing himself. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...ez/4591907.html
  8. Then you better wake up pal because it's all over the combine. As far as the Baltimore scenario, it's all purely speculation on my part. Make no mistake about it, Buffalo wants to trade MaGahee, Buffalo will trade MaGahee and MaGahee will play for another team and more than likely this year. You can label it star alignment, perfect world or dumpsters but I call it observations and opinions.
  9. Let me add T.J. Duckett to the mix if he's available. He has a great attitude all last year and doesn't have alot of wear and tear. As a stop gap, I do believe a UFA/RFA can serve the purpose until we groom a future canidate.
  10. I think that I better clarify my statements. I'm not suggesting anything about Buffalo obtaining Lewis. I'm just thinking that we could benefit the most trading MaGahee to this team. As far as MaGahee's replacement, I think that if we were to re-sign A-Train, obtain a UFA/RFA to compliment him (as a Chris Brown/DeShaun Foster) and then draft a future RB in the 2nd or 3rd rd area, we woulod be adequate at the RB position and still address other areas of need. I don't want Lewis and I don't believe that Marv & Co. does either. Would we benefit from such a scenario?
  11. That was me and that's why I'm excited about Lewis getting waived. I think Baltimore makes a great trade partner. Whether we trade MaGahee for Baltimore's 1st rd pick (#29 overall) and swap our 2nd rders or just trade him for their 2nd rder flat out.
  12. Hey, I would love to trade MaGahee to the Ravens for their 1st or 2nd rd pick and then have the Bills sign up Foster.
  13. Yeah, you're right, let's just keep him.
  14. Ravens just released Lewis. The Ravens would make a great trade partner.
  15. I can't believe that the Giants would squawk over a first day pick but people aren't disputing the compensation San Diego is seeking for RB Michael Turner. One would think that there would be some leverage in negotiating a contract with MaGahee. It may not be the time frame that we're hoping for but come draft day look for a deal to be struck. I hope Marv can stick to his guns and not settle for anything less than a 2nd rder in this year's draft. If Turner is worth anything close to a 1st and 3rd rder, then what should be fair compensation for MaGahee?
  16. The talent pool is thin and players like these will probably be over paid. The Bills announcing cash to cap and being a small market is starting to temper my thinking. Where does Buffalo fit in the scheme of things? http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/s...ll/16790903.htm
  17. Atlanta's coach Petrino stated that he's looking for a big RB for short yardage and one he can cultivate in a year from now. Seeing that he coached Bush at Louisville, one would have to think that this is who he is targeting, but Atlanta's 1st rder for him would be too soon. If Bush is still around when Atlanta picks in the 2nd rd we would have no shot at him unless Marv pulled another McCargo-type move.
  18. Based on the Bills trading MaGahee to Baltimore for their first rd pick and swapping 2nd rders, could this be enough of a package to move up for Peterson? I believe MaGahee will be gone but find it difficult to do this without having a plan for us to obtain a worthwhile replacement in the draft. The only other scenario would be if we intend on securing Lynch or Bush at our current pick or a trade down for either player.
  19. One thing you have to admit, that angry little coach over there in Denver isn't afraid to make a trade. They used a first day pick (3rd rder) on Clarett, how about one for MaGahee? It doesn't matter where MaGahee goes, just now I believe he has to. Reguardless if you're for or against the trade, we all better accept the fact that MaGahee won't be playing for Buffalo on opening day.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised to see WR Ashley Lelie being invited to One Bills Drive neither. The guy is big, fast and is wanting to prove himself. Before this suggestion gets bashed, keep in mind that Lelie had a great attitude in Atlanta and really tried to help out Roddy White and the others. Both of these players, Graham and Lelie, would not be terribly expensive and they would really help solidfy a couple of areas for us. If I'm inaccurate, do expect these type of players and payroll to be the kind that Buffalo goes after. The Adalius Thomas type of player is only a hope and a dream.
  21. It will be interesting in reading people's insights and predictions before they actually occur. I'm looking forward to Friday and seeing what teams from around the NFL become the firsts and/or the biggest participents in free agency. Marv & Co. stated that we would we players and there's no reason to doubt them, so state your prediction. My pick would have to be TE Daniel Graham. It's a weak draft for the TE position, we could stand the help on our O-line and he is a good locker room guy. Here's a link to a recent article that only makes me think that he's a strong possibility for us all the more. http://www.boston.com/sports/articles/2007...may_be_on_move/
  22. The Ravens are in the same type of situation as the Giants, both teams were in the play-offs last year. The difference is the Ravens are much more stabler than the Giants. Losing Tiki, softer defense, and team dissention are just a few glaring differences. While the need may be as great or even greater for a RB, the Giants have many more issues to address in this year's draft with their picks than using a first day pick on a ________ RB (I'll let everyone else fill in the blank). Based on the compensation, could Buffalo look to move up in the draft? It won't surprise me but I look for the Bills to do something unexpected again in this year's draft.
  23. I could see the Ravens stepping up and replacing Jamal Lewis. Cutting Lewis, who has an $11.6 million salary cap number, would create $8.3 million in cap room. The Ravens are approximately $3 million under the cap and need more room to address their needs at outside linebacker (Thomas is not expected to return) and offensive tackle (right tackle Tony Pashos is a free agent). Lewis is due a $5 million roster bonus on March 3. They need more cap space to try to re-sign high-priority free agents like offensive tackle Tony Pashos and linebacker Jarret Johnson as well as leave enough room for their rookie pool. Trading for someone like MaGahee, whose contract is friendly for the 2007 season, would allow them some much needed cap space. Baltimore could have a difficult time finding a replacement for Lewis, who was the NFL's 16th-leading rusher last season. The available running backs in free agency and the draft are considered a weak group. There are no running backs in the draft who would be worthy of a first-round selection when the Ravens select at No. 29. The Ravens could take either Louisville's Michael Bush or Auburn's Kenny Irons in the second round but that's only if they are still available. The Ravens need another running back, whether it's retaining Lewis or looking elsewhere. The only experienced running back under contract with the Ravens is Mike Anderson, who only played a limited role last season. Lewis doesn't make alot of financial sense unless he is willing to restructure his bonus and current contract.
  24. First paragraph. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2778174
  25. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't remember us having a real ironman ourselves since Thurman. Travis wasn't a real piece of granite and MaGahee had his little bumps and bruises too. Although Brown has a long ways to go before someone can count on him to carry a heavy load, I do believe that he would be a great compliment with A-Train. In spite of his durability, the guy does have skills.
