  1. This Shanahan is fearless. I would love to have him in my fantasy football league, he would keep it interesting. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsins...re_dre_bly.html My guess is that Denver wants a pass rushing DE. Do you think that Shanahan is trying to beat the Vikings to the punch for Gaines Adams?
  2. Here's a link to a story that says it better than what I tried to convey. Hope you enjoy. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=4650
  3. Sorry, while I was hunting and pecking this novel, someone else broke this latest tidbit. I saw it on USA Today just before I started this post.
  4. Doesn't it strike you funny that we open free agency with a big splash and get right to the point with our O-Line but did nothing at the RB position until there was a run on the available FA RBs? Marv saw the window of opportunity of available FA Rbs start to close and now he's responding in a hurry. If this doesn't show that he's not going to miss out on replacing McGahee I don't know what will. I don't know why he doesn't want him, but he doesn't. Could it be that he's not a "team guy"? He doesn't stay around Buffalo anymore than he has to. I forget what poster mentioned it in another post but he referred to McGahee practicing at Miami in the off season and not going to any non-mandatory camps. That poster is spot on. marv is from the old school where virtues, character and chemistry mean something. Why in the world would Marv be questioned for making this decision if he chose to do so. He wants what we want and that is he has the best interest for this organization, so if he makes this decision than I'm sure he has a solution. I got off track, the point is these sudden invitations to the FA RBs are not just idle moves or for show, he wants to replace McGoofey. PS- I just read that the talks between the Ravens and Bills are really starting to heat up and get more serious for McGoof.
  5. Don't quote me on this but it might be like the different time periods of when the bonuses kick in. Some bonuses kick in this week, this MIGHT be true with when the restrictions are enforced. I would like to know the true status of this as well.
  6. Good bye and good riddance McGahee, they say that Young Street is scenic this time of the year.
  7. With what Buffalo has done so far with the O-Linemen and the McGahee sweepstakes, the Jets making the trade for Jones, Miami for Porter and New England with Adalius Thomas and the supposed trade for Moss, this has been the most exciting division in the league so far this off season. Not looking for comments, just an observation.
  8. That was Todd Collins, not Hobert.
  9. Thanks daninator, that's exactly what I was inferring to. Jacobs/Bell is more of a thunder and lightning combination than a McGahee/Jacobs pairing. That's what I believe that an A-Train/Rhodes combo provide but to a lesser degree.
  10. Look for the Bills to insulate themselves for options in the future. The quality of the remaining RBs are diminishing quickly and when the music stops Buffalo will not be without a chair. I thought Chris Brown was going to be considered but it doesn't look that way now in spite the recent rash of RB signings. I also believe that the latest signings helped accelerate Buffalo's decision to invite Rhodes in for a visit. Rhodes is the type of RB that provides multi-facets in addition to A-Train's power. It will be a nice blend in the backfield. Expect Corey Dillion to be signing with the Ravens. At this point of their careers, Dillion is the better RB than Jamal Lewis and is more versatile. That won't leave much to choose from with the remaining FA RBs. If all this unfolds, then this puts Chris Brown in a lucrative position. Although it will be uncomfortable for teams like the Giants, Browns and the Packers to rely on a injury prone RB like Brown, they won't have much of a choice. The Browns and Giants could get away with coupling Brown with their existing RBs, Droughns and Jacobs, but they won't like it and really don't have much of a choice. This leaves the Packers in a very difficult position. With an aging QB, limited WRs and not much of a backfield, this would make McGahee a very desired commodity. Here's where we get compensated. With the Packers paying our ransom with a early round draft pick (2nd rder), we select our RB of the future with our 1st rd pick. I expect Marshawn Lynch to be the next great RB of the Buffalo Bills. With two 2nd rd picks we either address some of our needs or trade both picks to move back into the 1st rd to select a higher quality player of need (LB?).
  11. This is the insurance that Buffalo needs. A-Train will be re-signed and someone like Rhodes to compliment him. When the draft rolls around expect us to be selecting our RB of the future. I expected the Giants to make a deal for Tatum Bell to pair with Brandon Jacobs. A-Train/Rhodes would be a vanilla version of that duo, the difference is that we will be investing a early pick for our successor.
  12. An act of GOD. He's not SD this year.
  13. Forget this thread, he restructured. From 4. something million to 3 million. We got better issues now. McGahee's stock just got flatlined with this Thomas Jones trade.
  14. This guy is pretty slick! He gets Jones a new home and a new contract and eliminates another home for a RB. He gets paid and still is able to line up McGoofey for a big payday. I hope that this doesn't indicate a holdout. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2788962
  15. With Jones to Jets, McGahee's stock just took a turn for the better. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...story?track=rss
  16. The Raiders don't want to pay Jordan his bonus and they could be ripe for a trade. They have the first pick in the 4th(#96) and 5th(#128) rds. They also have an additional pick in the 5th(#155) from New England. I think that this was from the trade for WR Doug Gabriel. Does Jordan and possibly the 4th rd pick or the first pick in the 5th rd for McGahee be attractive enough to make this trade? If so, we would be recouping the 5th rder that we lost last year for McCargo.
  17. The Bears just made it to the Super Bowl and they can probably withstand this controversy but we can't afford to display anything negative about playing in Buffalo. I'm sure that Nate has nothing but positive things to say about playing in Buffalo and for the current administration. I do believe that we will still benefit from the reverberations of being honorable. Man, I'm glad to have someone like Marv to be runnuig our ship. I do believe that we have a very bright future for our team.
  18. I don't think Detroit's FB Cory Schlesinger would be a bad stop gap and he is a FA that can really lay the wood.
  19. His name is Jacques Reeves. Click on his name and read his bio. I would to love snatch a player off that bonehead Jerry Jones. It's an added bonus that he's a big contributor on special teams, another dimension that should be attractive to Marv. http://www.dallascowboys.com/team_roster.cfm The positions that we need to fill with the draft are limited by the time we select after the first round. The talent looks to drop off considerably for the CB, DT and LB positions. Using a 3rd rd pick (see previous post) and a 7th on areas of concern may be a valid solution. I would like to see the Bills raid some other teams for their 2 and 3 year players who have already had some pro game experience. This would still leave us with our 1st and 2nd rd picks. If either Spikes or McGahee were to be traded, we would be replenishing and upgrading our picks that we spent on RFAs as we filled our needs. Would there be any objections to this roster strategy?
  20. His mother likes to go to all his games and providing that they still live in Waldorf, Md., it might be tempting for him to play in the northeast. I'm really looking forward to seeing if the Bills invite Starks in for a visit. If so, I'll really be pumped expecting Buffalo to sign him.
  21. Nice job! He does indeed sound like one of Marv's kind of players.
  22. Sherman is in love with him and probably is enjoying alittle spite in the process. Green does add the dimension of being able to catch out of the backfield. As far as I know Davis is the only one who offers that capability and his career could be over.
  23. He can play now and it leaves us with our two first picks for other needs as in CB, LB or even a RB if that needs to be addressed. Marv did talk about looking at RFAs so could this be a possibility? http://www.titansonline.com/team/players/bio.php?PRKey=209
