  1. They are in serious need of a RB. We can also use one as a compliment, they need a primary. They can trade in front of us but the cost would escalate considerably. I can't see them risking Lynch being taken before their pick. I expect us to let it be known come draft time that we're willing to trade down. I would be willing to sacrifice the likes of Willis, Akoye and others to slide back just a few slots and still be able to draft a quality CB and be able to add to our first day picks. In the right deal we could still possibly trade back into the 1st rd and take LB Paul Posluszny. Of course this scenario would be based on Peterson being taken before the 12th pick. Would anyone disagree about trading down a few slots if the compensation allowed us such a scenario?
  2. I appreciate the input Pyrite Gal, it was informative but I think you overlooked a point or two. First, Wilkerson has played all along the DL. Matter of fact, he was in a rotation with good old DT Ron Edwards and James Reed. The second thing that should be noted is since the combine Akoye has put 15 lbs. back on. This will make a difference with how teams view him, we could be in the running for him. If we are looking for someone to rush the passer, Wilkerson is known to be able to do this but he did it mostly from the DE position. I'm still wondering if he would be able to do this from the middle of the DL.
  3. Sorry, I skipped that showboater and watched two of the Adrian Peterson clips. If we take a RB it's gotta be AD, that guy is an animal!
  4. Defensive schemes are well over my head. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or input on what kind of DT is effective in the cover 2 defense. Wilkerson has played all across the DL so he is versatile. Could he be effective in our defensive scheme? http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/apps/p...amp;located=RSS http://www.kcchiefs.com/player/jimmy_wilkerson/
  5. I don't know how we are going to resolve Spikes but you can bet he won't be on the roster come the season opener. Marv is building a team and there was a difference of opinion concerning personnel with Spikes. Spikes sounded like a mild Moulds when the new regime were making roster decisions. The money doesn't make sense in keeping Spikes anyways, the guy has played his better days. Remember Cowart? Great LB, same injury. It's time to purge. My biggest disappointment with this decision is I have another outdated jersey.
  6. I noticed that there is anothet post on us drafting a FB. What might be more useful is to draft someone who could be an HB. This way we could use one pick for a dual role. I don't think that either position is as important as our other needs. Remember, we got Jason Peters as a undrafted free agent, we need to make another find like him.
  7. Oh yeah, that's just we needed, having this idiot trying to represent our team.
  8. If he can shut his mouth and put on some lbs., I'd be all for bringing him back-as a TE. If he does come back then I hope he gets his old number back, this way I could put his old jersey to use.
  9. If we pass on CB Leon Hall that would push the pecking order back a bit. I have noticed in a couple of different mock drafts that they had New England grabbing him with their first 1st rd pick. Here's another example of a quality player who could be available for us when we pick. Is McCauley a real possibility for us in the 2nd rd? http://gobulldogs.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl...y_marcus00.html http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=18617 http://www.footballsfuture.com/2007/prospe...s_mccauley.html http://collegian.csufresno.edu/archive/200.../lockdown.shtml
  10. I'm sure we still have some surprising moves left. Here's a few notes that could have a big impact in the near future. First, there's a rumor that Holcomb may retire. Don't ask for a link, I forget where I heard it but I didn't pay much attention to it when I did. I mention this because if it's true I don't know how this will affect the cap. The second factor I'd like to mention is in a recent interview Marv stated that it's a general agreement amonst his staff before they make a move with a player. He went on to state that this is something that Polian did and Marv still incorporates that into the decision making in Buffalo now. He said that one time he wasn't on board with a potential trade that Polian wanted badly. Polian wouldn't make the trade until Marv agreed, so Polian hammered him until 3:00 in the morning. Marv finally relented and it was for their two 1st rders and either another pick or a player I forget which, and the trade turned out to work pretty good. Oh by the way, the player they traded for was Cornelius Bennett. Marv didn't sound too disappointed in the results. I think Marv would consider another trade for an impact LB if the price were to be reasonable. The third factor would be the cap. I'm sure Spikes, amongst others, will be gone. As far as I can tell Roscoe is one player that carries a pretty big cap number. Do you think that he could be another casualty? I'm just asking.
  11. In the words of legend Johnny Cash, " I hear the the Train a-coming.....". This signing sure relieves some pressure. Go Bills!
  12. This seems to indicate that Buffalo is manuevering for a DT. I do expect quite a few more signings in the next week or two. We should have a good idea by draft time what positions need attention the most.
  13. I'm sure that there's a ton of sleepers available. Here's a couple of interesting players that you might want to track. Add your own sleepers and this way we can all learn more on these overachievers and look for them on day 2 of the draft. WR Jordan Kent. Can't teach speed. http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SP...p;Q_SEASON=2006 http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SP...p;Q_SEASON=2006 http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian...&thispage=1 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/kent_jordan TE Michael Allan. Nice combination of size and speed. http://seahawks.scout.com/2/621572.html http://www.fieldgulls.com/story/2007/2/22/203430/159 http://www.whitworth.edu/Athletics/Teams/F...06/HulaBowl.htm http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=67628
  14. In one of the articles he stated that he's working on his speed. I would love for him to be another Thurman Thomas. Scouring around trying to find possibilities, I realize that there is value with mid round picks. I would like Buffalo to address the defense with their early round picks.
  15. We have too many needs to just trade McGahee and have to use our 1st rder to replace him. I expect us to draft the best defensive player with at least our 1st rder, reguardless if we stay at the #12 pick or trade back. If we stay at #12 look for us to draft LB Patrick Willis or if we trade back a few slots I'm expecting Buffalo to be considering someone along the lines of CB Darrelle Revis. We can find a good, solid value at RB somewheres in the 3rd rd. Here's a suggestion, what do you think? http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=166&p=8&a...amp;nid=2505090 http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=2268737 http://www.cornnation.com/story/2007/3/1/12350/70179 (check out video at the bottom of the page) http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...donjackson.html http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB...p;ATCLID=747872 He sounds and looks like the kind of person/player that Marv covets.
  16. I'm not defending Rosenhaus but the guy did what he was hired for. Could it be that McGahee is just an underperforming, ignorant, ego tripping kid who went from rags to riches all while being one of the bigger stars on his team? When he didn't provide the leadership or results, what did you expect him to say or do? Did anyone really expect him to be a standup guy and take accountability? We are not dealing with someone with character, he's just an athlete who has some ability. It wasn't Rosenhaus who pumped all those women and got them pregnant. That shows you something right there. Once could be unintentional, accident, or mistake, whatever you want to call it. He did it THREE times! Classic example of not accepting responsibility. He doesn't care, in his mind peanut mind, he's on top of the world. Nope, McGahee is just a little, immature idiot who may or may not grow out of it. Hopefully for his sake he'll grow up and be an adult.
  17. If you could be the GM, what moves would you make to address the issues and needs with our first day picks for this upcoming season? Here's what I'd like to do. 1) Trade our 4th rd pick, possibly an additional 7th rder, for Tatum Bell and resign A-Train. Now we have our version of thunder and lightning, RB issue resolved. 2) Trade Roscoe with Tampa Bay for CB Alan Zemaitis. They get their Florida boy and we get our hometown boy. 3) Sign Tennessee's RFA DT Randy Starks to a contract with one of our 3rd rd picks. 4) Draft LB Patrick Willis with our 1st rd pick. 5) Draft WR Sidney Rice with our 2nd rd pick. 6) Draft RB Brandon Jackson with our 3rd rd pick.
  18. Very interesting, I think he's a great possibility. This seems to be the kind of player that New England likes.
  19. I agree with JAMIEBUF12, signing A-Train should be our top priority right now. As far as defensive players, it's easier to teach a defensive player than it is for an offensive one. That's why I think that we signed experienced offensive players first. I expect us to go heavy on defense early in the draft. Reguarding June and Harper, Cato 227 lbs and Harper is 33 yrs old by the time the season begins, I think we can do better.
  20. Oh my gosh, that guy is a blaze! It's not inconceivable for Marv to consider Ginn. As we all know, Marv is a big advocate for STs and with us now being dangerously thin in the secondary Ginn may be a good alternative for McGee as KR. We sure can't afford to have McGee get hurt. Could you imagine Ginn and Roscoe as KRs and then either one for PRs?! High Motor has a point about him being Hesterisque. This is a copycat league and right now that's a hot flavor. People are worried about losing MaGahee but there is other ways to score too. Furthermore, picture this guy in a 3 or 4 WR set. How does this line-up sound, Evans, Price, Ginn, and Rosco? Can't teach speed, JP has got a cannon and we would have 3 or 4 WRs that could stretch the WHOLE field. The best part is, we could slide back a couple of spots and pick up extra pick(s) and probably still get this guy. Thanks for the video highlights, it was great.
  21. I'm going by the players that Buffalo actually drafted. Least favorite-Jamie Nails/1997 draft/4th rd/#120. I agree with you Amstel, I was researching where he was drafted as you were posting. I live in SW Florida and KR Charlie Rogers and him were on the Dolphins' show and these two idiots couldn't badmouth Buffalo and the community enough. They were even laughing at how fat and ugly the women are up in Buffalo. They went on to say how they were going to smack us around. Most favorite-Darryl Talley, by a landslide./1983 draft/2nd rd/#39. Everything that Buffalo could want as a player and teammate. One year my brother, who really didn't care too much for the Bills at the time, helped supply oxygen to the players during the Buffalo/San Diego home game and afterwards there were two things that really impressed him. First, he Dan Fouts was just a great guy. Secondly, he wanted to know who #56 was. I told him it was Talley and he said that he was totally intense the whole game, so much so that Talley's eyes were bugging. My brother said that he would never want to piss him off, the guy is an animal. Once again, I said that's Talley. Just a footnote. This was the kind of guy, teammate and player that Marv had and coached when he was here last. Do you really think that Marv is going to build a team or accept a player with the attitude that someone like McGahee or any other prima donna has? The answer is no, Marv is still in a timewarp from the late 80's and early 90's and that's OK with me.
  22. Hey thanks, I'm glad I heard that interview, now I know whose our starting RB. I'm not a McGahee fan by no stretch of the imagination but I don't wish him any harm either. I think he's just an ignorant kid who has some ability and alot more ego. I'm glad he's gone, he just doesn't realize his selfishness. What is important is the production of our run game, not what McGahee does. So c'mon A-Train, get your caboose moving and get us 1300+ yds. Go Bills!
  23. Verron Haynes should be able to make that list.
  24. The more I think about it conditional pick(s) would be the only way to do it. This franchise isn't stable enough to make a potential blunder of this magnitude. Knowing Buffalo's luck Turner would be another Lamont Jordan.
  25. I thought he sounded interesting but I don't watch alot of college ball. Thanks.
