  1. Touche Tortured Soul, there's nothing that I loathe more than that word can't. There's always a way to work it out if you really want to.
  2. Hey, thanks BillsVet for pissing all over my parade. If Marv truly wanted these players and the cash to cap was restricting him then I believe he could always rescind what he stated. The cash to cap limit is not written in stone.
  3. Excuse me alg but why would you insinuate that I'm a sucker and would be willing to overpay for a product out of fear of loss??? I thought that I clearly stated for us NOT to succumb and to look for other alternatives. THIS is how you negoiate, you take your offer off the table. When the seller realizes that he is jeopardizing the sale, he lowers his demands and becomes more reasonable. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the rest of your response because I do believe that for the most part people do present valid points. Oh, by the way, you want to hear something that's funny? I would NEVER go to a car dealer and look at a car for one simple reason. I AM A CAR DEALER!!!
  4. I'm sure the cash to cap can be worked out, it's just a matter of jockeying the money around. I thought that as far as trade values go that I did a pretty fair job in retaining value for all parties involved. Do I get a gold star now or what??!! Just kidding. AJ Smith gets his 1st and 3rd rders and saves face and the Bears, even though Washington seems to be closing in on Briggs, won't have to deal with Snyder and his Rosenhaus ways. Turner gets to be a star on an up and coming team and Briggs gets out of Chicago and loves playing for his new GM. We can also package our 2nd and 3rd rders to move up for a CB if we so desire.
  5. The Bills have picks at #12 (1st rd), #43 (2nd rd), #74 and #92 (3rd rd). In addition to these picks we have an undetermined 3rd rd pick in the 2008 draft from Baltimore. Here is my proposal. Swap our 1st and 2nd rd picks and our 3rd rd pick (#92) that we got from Baltimore with San Diego, who have picks at #30 (1st rd) and #62 (2nd rd), to obtain Turner. Now we have picks at #30 (1st rd), #62 (2nd rd) and our original 3rd rd pick at #74. We then trade our 1st rd (#30) in this year's draft and our undetermined 3rd rder in the 2008 draft that we got from Baltimore for Briggs. Our net result would be that we obtained Turner, Briggs, a 2nd rd pick at #62 and our original 3rd rder at #74. Here's how I view the cost of this trading scenario. It costed us our 2007 1st rder, a move down in the 2nd rd from #43 to #62 and McGahee. Turner replaces McGahee, Briggs is the choice over Patrick Willis and a move down of 19 slots in the 2nd rd, I think I could live with that.
  6. This would not be good. Buffalo should look at other alternatives. Surprisingly Green Bay hasn't been interested. Giants are believed to possibly get involved as the draft gets closer. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/charg...31chargers.html
  7. According to KFFL they got a ton of possible replacements lined up for Briggs. That and just the indication that the Bears are accepting and willing to trade Briggs gives some hope that Buffalo just might be in the mix. Us just having the LB position unsettled is enough of a reason to view us as a valid trade partner. C'mon Marv, you're on the clock! http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
  8. I would love for us to obtain Turner but only if the price is right. We don't need to respond to extortion. Sorry to pop anyone's bubble but Peterson is not going to fall to us and I can't see trading up for him when we have other pressing needs. I'm also not a believer in drafting Lynch with our 1st pick either for the same reason. We DO have playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. While Fred Jackson is a HUGE question mark I do think that A-Train is a RB that still can somewhat produce but a compliment RB is in order. This can be fulfilled in the 2nd or, better yet, 3rd rd. Don't confuse wanting and needing a monster RB. We can make do with what we got, we just need alittle more help in this area. Let JP, Evans and others on offense pick up some the slack. We have good choice draft early in this draft. Use them extensively on defense and narrow the gap. I feel that we have a very good offense and with the right additions from the draft we'll have a good defense. Unless someone feels like we can be a serious threat for the SuperBowl this year then let's draft smartly. Let's not panic and start drafting from hysteria. Man, it's only March/April, not September.
  9. With all things being equal with Tennessee, Green Bay and even Atlanta, I do believe Marv has the inside track for Turner because of his past relationship with AJ. Now if one of these teams bows up and pays top premium then we'll be out. Although I don't want us to overpay for Turner I would still love to have him on our team this year. As I'm thinking about the Turner sweepstakes, would it be a plus if Tennessee does land up with RB Chris Brown and their need starts to wane for Turner? One other note, if that were to be the case, I think we may have the earlier pick in each round vs Green Bay. The Falcons, I think, could be the team that poses the most trouble for us. They have alot of first day picks and earlier than ours.
  10. Oops! My bad, I misunderstood the trade. Well, I'd still be interested in hearing what the exact potential terms would be before saying that it's not a good trade.
  11. Hearing Marv the other week reminiscing about the Cornelius Bennett trade also sticks in my mind that if he felt that Briggs was the type of LB that you could build a team around, especially having young players, then this could be a tempting trade for Marv.
  12. Assuming that it's a swapping of 1st rd picks and a favorable contract can be workrd out with Briggs, then here's a scenario that could be feasible. Secure Briggs and then draft CB Marcus McCauley with the 31st pick. In the second rd draft S Aaron Rouse at #43 and convert him to LB. Now we dial up San Diego and work out a trade for Turner with one of our 3rd rd picks and if we have to, tap into next year's draft for another pick to sweeten the pot (a 3rd or 4th rder?). We would still have a 3rd rd pick left and based on which is available take the best available player, CB,RB,DT,or LB would still be desirable. * If there were to be another pick coming from the Bears it would only make this a more lucrative scenario. Keep in mind that Chicago's GM Jerry Angelo took a burn to the way Washington went about trying to make a deal for Briggs. In addition Briggs may be more lenient on negoiating knowing that the Bears control the decisions for him this year and I do believe that he would take a more resonable contract just to get out of Chicago.
  13. That reminds me, what does this indicates about Milloy? If Atlanta drafts Landry, where does Milloy fit in? All the more it looks like Marv was right on time with Whitner.
  14. I know one thing, I know the paint will run.
  15. He's not a FA but MLB Al Wilson in a modest trade.
  16. Well, I have to wonder how accurate they would have been. There was also talk that there were other team(s) behind the Bills' pick that were interested. I also think that we had a more bigger need then for a Safety than the Falcons have now.
  17. #4 and #5 is interesting, I don't care too much for the others.
  18. Touche. That's a fair reply. I do remember the gurus were saying that the rule of thumb though is that it is still too high for ANY Safety. True or false?
  19. I'm sure that nobody around here forgot the national heat that Marv took when he drafted Whitner at the #8 spot. It looks like the Falcons are going to take S LaRon Landry with their first pick. If they do, what do you think the draft gurus will think about Atlanta's selection of a Safety with the #8 pick?
  20. Oh my gosh, what horror! Mom, how could you disgrace me like this with those coaster nipples!!!
  21. My mother is Bea Athur, you idiot.
  22. Hey Beerball, did anyone ever tell you that you look like Rodney Dangerfield?
  23. I wasn't suppose to tell you but this happens in the first espisode of The Sopranos. Losman gets to be a made man this year and Whitner is gonna whack someone. As you already know McGahee turned into an informnant and went into the witness protection program up in Baltimore, never to be heard from again. The Godfather Levy is in a meeting with his Consigliere Jauron on how to wipe out the rest of the families in the league.
  24. He better not ever come back to Buffalo! Traitor!!
  25. You got to be kidding me, right? What did this guy say wrong? It's time to get a grip, this lynch mob mentality is unbecoming. McGahee came right out and bashed everything that Buffalo stands for, plus his indifference while he was here invites disdain but to go around hating a guy because he's happy to have an opportunity is distasteful. C'mon, don't be like that, you're better than this.
