  1. I agree about Turner playing behind the best and already having experience. Why would anyone want to have an inexperienced rookie over Turner? If the cost is a 2nd rder or later then Turner is a no brainer! I wouldn't give a 1st rder but I'd be willing to swap it for SanDiego's. We still get to keep a 1st rd pick and fill our need at the RB position without using a draft pick. To me that would be the best solution.
  2. That's exactly why Jones would be a good compliment, we got A-Train for the red zone and Jones for in between the 20's. Jones is no good? Why, because Parcels says so? Parcels has been successful when he had Belichek on his staff, but what has he done on his own? Not much, while Belichek has flourished and has been deemed one of the best, if not the best, coach in the league. It was Belichek's secondary and the WRs that beat us in the first SuperBowl. As far as the Jets go Belichek, split and hence the Patriots' dynasty has been born. Meantime Parcels once again cherrypicks another team (Cowboys) and promptly flounders. Do you think that's coincidence? Parcels has made a living out of taking over struggling teams that have a good base but no direction. When he stood on his own what happen? I'm not stating that Parcels is not a great coach, I'm just saying that I don't think that he is the right coach for today's athletes. The day of the blood and guts athletes have come and gone. It's a different era, the mind games and in your face type of coaching isn't effective anymore. Who would of thought 20 years ago that Parcels would calmly be on the sidelines and accept the circus act of TO? No, he had that meddling pain in the ass Jerry Jones torturing him behind the scenes. That's another example of why Parcels should have stayed retired. I do believe that Julius Jones is a better RB because of Parcels and that's exactly why we should consider making a move for him. I think that he is smarter now and understands his role better because of Parcels. Don't confuse wanting with needing a Thurman Thomas type RB. Jones would be a great compliment to the A-Train. All I'm saying that it's something that should be considered if the price is right.
  3. Well, Dillion would make sense. He's a veteran RB who should come at a reasonable contract and they get to keep their draft picks and build their team up. Turner would be expensive in terms of picks and Tennessee could stand to use all their picks. I guess the same could be said about us but we have an earlier 1st rder and we would be giving a better value with the swapping of 1st rders.
  4. Does Marcus McCauley fit our system?
  5. I agree. We need a RB and we're going to have to take one anywhere between the first and third rds anyways, why not just secure Turner and be done? If we have to we can toss in a mid-late rd pick in next year's draft.
  6. Yeah, but apparently he left without a contract. I do believe that the Titans are probably going to land up with Turner. A couple of days ago it was reported that Chris Brown would probably sign with Buffalo or Tennessee this week. The next thing you know Turner is in Tennessee and Dillion is right behind him. I'm starting to think that Tennessee is parading all these RBs because they're not going to sign Brown.
  7. If Briggs or Turner get a new contract with another team would anyone have an idea about how much they might get in their 1st year of the contract? I don't know how or where to find this out but I'd be curious to know. If an approximate figure could be determined than maybe we could gauge if a trade for either of them could actually work. Maybe clumping platelets could shed some light on this. Anyways, thanks. I found these couple of links that got me start wondering if a trade down could be feasible. http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/view...c.php?p=1142736 http://ravens.scout.com/2/550951.html
  8. If Dillion signs with Tennessee then maybe it will delute some of AJ's demands and make trading for Turner alittle more reasonable. I would love for us to get Turner, either by swapping the same rd picks and/or the use of next year's draft for compensation. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10104400
  9. If Turner is in Tennessee, I would think that this is the unnamed team that is close to signing him.
  10. IF any of this true and the Bills have Willis targeted, then expect them to trade up with Minnesota to secure Willis.
  11. Did I even mention the Bills? I said several teams. If anything, it looks like I'm favoring the Rams more than anyone else, doesn't it? Go get a cup of coffee and wake up.
  12. What are you talking about??? Carriker is bigger and faster than Okoye. He can play anywheres across the D-line. I like his versatility, he'll be able to be used in various ways. Based on what team drafts him will determine if he's going to be a DE or DT. He's being compared to Richard Seymour, not a bad player to have wouldn't you say? Here, compare for yourself. http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/carriker_adam http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/okoye_amobi
  13. There has been talk CB Anthony Henry is losing a step and that the Cowboys are considering moving him to FS. I could see Dallas being interested in CB Leon Hall for his replacement if they did make this move. The Cowboys pick at #22 and that should be far back enough to just miss out on Hall and Darrelle Revis. Swapping 1st rd picks with them could net us Jones and possibly their 4th rd pick (#105). I'd much rather have Julius Jones vs Chris Brown at this point and his contract should be alot friendlier than Michael Turner's. I see Tatum Bell being suggested in other posts but that guy is a fumbler, that's why Shanahan traded him. If we were to make this trade we would be picking up another draft pick and selecting at the #22 slot instead at #12 which would be a big difference in contract money. If LB Posluszny isn't available then Jon Beason would be. That would be two areas of need addressed and still leaves us in a great position to take a quality CB in the 2nd rd. The question that you would have to consider is if Willis would be the guy that we have to have. If so, then we can't do nothing and just better take him with our original 1st rd pick at #12.
  14. You're right. If Willis is gone before we pick then we need to beef up the DTs. Carriker is everything that Akoye is plus more. We need someone who can tie up the middle and take on two blockers.
  15. No way. If Willis is gone we take Adam Carriker. San Fran is taking one of them and we are taking the other.

  17. That was hysterical! I think that that's got to be the response of the year. Matter of fact, that video clip should have a thread of it's own.
  18. I don't believe he's being serious about the O-line rotation. I gave alittle credence to his RB theory and I think he was trying to pull my leg with this other nonsense. The biggest attribute for an O-line is their cohesiveness. This is not a unit that you just rotate like a DT.
  19. I don't know how anyone could think that these odds could be fair before so many factors unfold. Between the draft, trades and June 1st cuts alone are going to change the complexion of several teams to say the least. If I had to bet right now, I'd lay a nice little chunk on the Rams to win it at those odds.
  20. I just wanted to add that although there are people discarding some of these teams as serious suitors but it wouldn't surprise me to see a team come out of nowheres and make a deal for Turner. I see people scoffing at the Dallas possibility but didn't Wade Phillips just come from san Diego? Not that I think it will happen but it wouldn't shock me if Dallas did trade for Turner and Julius Jones becomes the next available RB on the market.
  21. It is true that RB position has been deluted in the last few years. Teams can get away with less compared to years past. Solid, dependable veterans who don't usually cough up the ball can and will continue to make their living, the RBBC is here to stay. Does a big time WR to pair up with Evans seem to make more sense than one would expect?
  22. Well, if we can't play in Canada let's bring the Canadian players here!
  23. Aha! That's where I got you. Who needs a pie in the sky when I got Lucy with diamonds? Here's part of my reasoning. Snyder/Rosenhaus backdoored Angelo and are trying to force his hand. Rosenhaus has Briggs threatening to sit out 10 games. The thought of this makes an uncomfortable situation for Angelo. Rosenhaus then provides a way out for Angelo to retain something and still save face, a trade. Rosenhaus lines up Snyder and he enters the picture. I posted an earlier link from an agent who states that the agents love dealing with Snyder because he's a big pay day. Angelo takes a burn on the scruples of these two and vehemently resists the initial concept. Some time goes by, Angelo calms down but he hasn't forgotten how these three are squeezing him. More burn. Angelo doesn't just take the offer and run, he wants to return the ballbreaking and says swapping of the 1st rd picks isn't enough, he wants some other form of compensation. Standstill. Now here's where Buffalo could enter the picture. Angelo stills gets the generous compensation for a disgruntled employee and gets rid of him and his pain in the ass agent. Even better, he sticks it to Snyder and knocks him out of the picture. In that trade scenario Chicago only swaps picks, with Buffalo's scenario he gains an additional 1st rd pick AND a future undetermined 3rd rder. Matter of fact Angelo isn't crazy about top 10 picks. He views them just as much a curse as a blessing. A top ten pick will cost $15-20 million in guaranteed money. There would be a great bit of difference in dollars between a top ten pick and two very late 1st rders. Using the NFL draft value chart would show that the Redskin trade would provide slightly more in points (189.5 points) but less in players/picks. I used an average for points for our future 3rd rd pick (#80/190.5 points) for value. That's right in the middle of the 3rd rd, that shouldn't be off by too much one way or the other. *What I would think could be the biggest obstacle in dealing for Briggs is Marv may not want to deal with Rosenhaus.
  24. Aw c'mon, I'm not taking offense here, I'm just having some fun. Lighten up, you are the one getting all serious with the cash to cap stuff. The things that you're quoting is what you're reading. How much do you really know and understand about the contracts, financial structure and negoiating? Unless you're a lawyer that deals in these areas then I'm taking what you're saying more as opinion than fact. There's no harm in exploring the possibilities in the off season.
  25. Saturday is a big day in the car business and I was pretty busy. When I read that article I didn't have time to dissect nor digest it. I just flat out rebuked it. In hindsight it is illogical. PS you're right, salespeople do tend to be easy sells.
