[Name Only Title] Najee Harris

I think that this is a position that could fall late in this draft due to the release of good expensive players this year because of the salary cap reduction. Normally positions would have been filled but now extra needs have been created. Since the RB position has been devalued the last umpteen years this is a position that realistically could slide. Hypothetically if this were to happen I would think that Singletary could get bumped off this roster in one way or another. Buffalo is a team that still has needs but none of them are urgent so BPA should be the thought process here. In years past Baltimore’s former GM Ozzie Newsome was a draft guru because he stuck to this strategy and that was drafting BPA. -
Jerry Hughes restructuring? Rumor...
Tipster19 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great points made here. If the Bills don’t acquire a top DE in FA or a trade then it should be a no brainer for them to use their 1st rd on one. The DL is either too old or too light and neither are a good attribute at this point. -
He’d look good in a Bills’ uniform.

If any, which player should have their position switched?

Oops, this as well. -

Much better of a position switch than the one I suggested. Hopefully McDermott will think so as well. -
The more I thought about it the more I’d like to see Edmunds switch positions. Imo he’ll never be the MLB that this team needs. When you look at his measurable and athletic abilities he’s better suited up on the DL. He is young and and his frame could carry a few extra pounds with no problem. It’s either switch him, keep him or eventually get rid of him and I know that I don’t like 2 out of those 3 scenarios.

Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been thinking the last several weeks, especially watching Devin White, how much I would love to see a snot, slobbering maniac for a MLB. As great as Luke Kurchly was he struck me being passive and now I see the same the same tendency with Edmunds. Now Devin White, he’s the kind of MLB that would make this defense go. How about a position change for Edmunds? He has the athletic ability and measurable to be an edge rusher. If Watt does end up in Buffalo him and Hughes would be great mentors to learn from. Edmunds and Epenesa would be great in a rotation, relieving Watt and Hughes. Next question would be who could replace Edmunds at the MLB position? Could AJ Klein be a good replacement or would the Bills have to go outside of the organization to get that position filled? -
Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would trading out for a proven veteran be the best strategy due to the uncertainty of the lack of scouting, no combine etc etc due to COVID? Not saying the Bills should, just asking if they should. -

Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well this may be accurate I think that good LBs have been found in later rds, like from the 3rd-5th rds. Now a LB like Devin White is a absolute monster and I would love for the Bills to find a LB like him regardless of what rd. -

Another great aspect in a COVID affected draft. Use a mulligan type philosophy this year to stack next year’s draft. That would only come from a confident and secured GM which we have in Beane. A lot to like and think about here. -
Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great discussion going on here, I love it and this was exactly what I was hoping for! Personally I’m of the thinking that this is the kind of draft where the Bills do move up. Having the whole culture and process being COVID affected I think it might be wise just to try and secure a safer prospect vs scatter shot a few different players. I also like what Frat-Train was alluding to because of this very reason, trade out for a proven player, kind of like the Diggs trade philosophy. If the Bills are to stay in the 1st rd then let’s make it really count and get someone who is a difference maker, regardless of position, the Bills do have a few positions that need addressing. Personally that DT from Alabama is intriguing, adding someone like Christian Barmore to our DL would be a compliment imo. -
I don’t expect for the Bills to just stand pat at the 30th pick overall unless for reason there is a serious slide of talent of need. If not then which train of thought would be more beneficial, trading up or trading back? I would think that either way could be influenced by the salary cap reduction. By trading up I would think that it would take some serious draft capital (multiple picks) to get in position of acquiring a serious talent, especially of one of need. Now who or what position that would be I cannot say but by doing this this would create one big contract and spending less money on multiple draft picks all the while of having a 1st rd player who provide the Bills with a 5th year option. In trading back the Bills could accumulate multiple players, providing a better chance of filling needs with smaller contracts. Drafting for LBs and OL, very good players could be found in the 3rd, 4th and 5th rds. Expecting to be losing some players due to the salary cap reduction (*see Milano) it would be the prudent way of balancing the ledger but the influx of young inexperience players might not be in the best interest of the window of opportunity that the Bills are currently in. This might though allow the Bills to add some mid range veterans through free agency to help offset the mass addition of young draftees. So which would be a better fit for the Bills, drafting for a higher quality of player of need in the 1st rd and have less picks or to draft for a quantity of lower draft picks?

C’mon Kenny, you’re a big part of our identity. Get this handled and let’s go! Seriously, my thoughts and prayers are on you. Prayers that this surgery is easy on you and you get a clean bill of health!

Could the Bills be looking to incorporate a Thug OL?
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, I misused the description of what I meant. What I was trying to get across was I’d like to see the OL to be tough physical players, not thugs, gangsters or anything that has criminal elements in their play, I misspoke. -

That’s good. I also noticed that when their QB got smashed nobody came to his defense either. I enjoyed when Kiko tried to pull his dirty play against Allen and Jordan Mills piled on him. I also believe that little melee helped to contribute to Teller getting traded imo. -

Nice little tip there friend, thanks! -
I think so. If the the defenses isn’t physical, and they’re not, they why not make the OL the tough guys? The capabilities are there. Get rid of Morse while you can and make Feliciano the Center. Not only could the Bills save some $$$ in a cash strapped year but they’ll also strengthen a physicality to the OL. Having Cody Ford coming back this year will only reinforce that concept. Keep Cody at Guard and the ShnowMan showed me something in the AFC Championship game. He stepped up as a tough guy when KC was getting a bit chippy with Josh. I didn’t know if he had it in him but I don’t question that now. I don’t know enough about D. Williams or Ike but it wouldn’t surprise me if Williams bought into this concept. Either way having 2, possible 3, physical OL would be more than enough to send a message to defenses. I’d like to see another bad ass at the Guard position to solidify this. Someone like the Giants’ OG Will Hernandez would be a perfect compliment to this concept. Does anyone know if there’s someone out there, whether be by draft, trade or FA, like Hernandez?

Impending FA Richard Sherman would be a great addition to the Bills’ secondary and Geno Atkins should be available for next to nothing. Although Atkins is a bit long in the tooth he’s a former All Pro that I believe that still has a little left in the tank. I think he’s more of a victim of circumstance more than anything else. Being under a rather new regime and signing a massive contract extension back in 2018 I believe he’s caught in a numbers’ game more than anything else. McDermott likes aged veterans in his defense and a re-energized Atkins could be a nice little defensive find in a salary cap strapped year.

Martellus Bennett about the dark side of football
Tipster19 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, I was never a fan of Bennett but he makes a lot sense of what he’s saying. Signing over the permission slip is signing over their identity is very thought provoking. Careful what you wish for. -
If you look over McDermott’s past he loves DTs, seems like he can’t ever get enough of them, especially if they’re versatile in playing right across the whole fDL. I believe it’s a big part of making his past defenses successful. He collects DL like Gruden collects QBs, I suppose it’s what makes them success. I guess the days of the Ted Washington’s are gone but I would like to see more girth up on that DL, I’m tired of the bend but don’t break defenses that we’ve been sporting. Here’s a novel idea, how about we just crush the pocket and get some 3 and outs?? Lord knows we already got a pretty good secondary so they don’t have to cover receivers and RBs for too long. Who knows, maybe this could make a vet like Jerry Hughes even more effective, I felt for the longest time that Hughes was underwhelming but I never thought that it was his fault. The middle of our defense is vanilla at best. C’mon McDermott, it’s long overdue for some pocket crushing DL!
-
I’d like to see heavier beef on the DL. We have too many lighter, penetrating DL. Whenever we go up against a bigger OL they get stonewalled. Star is not enough and I don’t how much trust they can put into him anyways, a older vet with a year off etc etc. The Bills went a little overboard with the Carolina boys as far as the money goes. Horrible Harry just might be that, nice guy but coming off a big injury doesn’t help matters. I wish that the Bills would have kept Jordan Phillips, he was the right blend of size, ability and attitude.
-
I’d like to see someone like Barmore man the middle of the DL. Oliver’s speed is nice but rather have a quick space eater more.

Source: LB Matt Milano looking for “top dollar” in FA
Tipster19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect the Bills to dump Morse and replace him with Feliciano. Cody man’s one of the G positions, not sure if Ike and/or Williams stay at their respective positions. RT might be tricky if it’s not Williams but getting another G shouldn’t be too difficult or expensive if need be. Boot Morse, too much money tied up with him, especially being concussion prone, spend that money elsewhere and move on.
