I stabbed my thumb with the corkscrew so excuse the typing. I'm surprised that nobody's talking about the Colts extending GM Bill Polian's contract. I think that it's for another 3 or 4 years. The Seahawks re-signed CB Marcus Trufant to a six-year, $50.2 million contract which includes a $10 million signing bonus. What surprises me here is that I thought that the 'Hawks were only about 9 1/2 million under the cap going into free agency. How in the world did they accomplish this? The New York Times suggests that teams' apparent "concern" over Glenn Dorsey's lower body injuries are false and attempts to get his stock to drop. If there is any truth to this then I think that this is a rotten thing to do to a young prospect that has dedicated himself up to this point in his life to succeed. As it stands now that all these rumored trade talks have fallen through for Jets' DT Dwayne Robertson that there is a good chance that the Jets will entertain a late rd pick for him or just flat out release him. Hey Mike Tannenbaum, how about one of our 7th rders for Robertson? Louisville WR Mario Urrutia ran forty times of 4.58 and 4.53 at his Pro Day. He also jumped vertically 35". Urrutia was in the 4.5s at the Combine as well, which is fine for a 6'5/229-pound wideout. Despite an up-and-down college career, Urrutia should be well worth a fourth- or fifth-round flier. Does anyone know anything about this kid? Bears head coach Lovie Smith met with Arkansas running backs Darren McFadden and Felix Jones on Monday. The Bears were thought to be seeking an offensive tackle with the 14th pick, but the pursuit of competition for RB Cedric Benson could be genuine. It has been suspected that Benson's rehabilitation from a fractured left ankle is not going smoothly, in which case he could be phased out of the team's plans. I recently made a mock draft that had the Bears taking RB Rashard Mendenhall. It doesn't look like I was too far off the mark. QB Matt Flynn (6-2, 229) at LSU's Pro Day on 3/26 kept all his numbers from the combine, ran position drills and looked very good throwing the ball. After registering a blazing 4.32 on a fairly slow track, running back Steve Korte Jr. has to be considered the unsung hero of L.S.U.'s Pro Day. But who is he?Korte, who was heavily recruited coming out of high school, is the son of former N.F.L. offensive lineman Steve Korte. He sort of got lost in the shuffle in Baton Rogue due to injuries and the Tigers' plethora of talent at running back, so he announced he would transfer to Southern Miss in the summer of 2007. But according to one of our sources, Korte was suspended by both the N.C.A.A. and L.S.U. (due to an academic issue) and has decided to turn to pro, instead of sitting out another season or transfering to a lower level program. That's enough for now, the room is starting to spin. Enjoy.

On a positive note. WR Adarius Bowman.

Wow! Thanks alot! That was a great interview. I really like this kid alot! I think that he would be perfect in Buffalo. If we don't get Jordy Nelson then I definitely want the Bills to get Bowman. I'd be estactic with either one but I think that I would rather have Bowman if I had to pick. The hell with it, I hope we get both of them, Nelson in the 3rd rd and Bowman in the 4th. Yeah! http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/adariusbowmaninterview.htm -
I don't know about that. Last year we were going into the season looking like we were loaded at the DE position. In just a short time we suffered a couple of injuries at this position and we went from this being a strength to having it be a very thin weakness there. All we looking for at the wide receiver position is just ONE #2 receiver. I think that there are a couple of ways to get this accomplished other than just using our #11 pick overall on it.

Once again there are names there that I can't comment on due to the fact of lack of knowledge but I will say that I like the idea of Buffalo grabbing a player from a small school and/or lack of publicity. It's time to get back to our roots, you know like when Polian was here. He would grab a guy like Bebee and Andre Reed and they either were real good players or flat out stars. I realize that John Butler and AJ Smith had a big hand in doing this also. That's why the Colts and Chargers are doing so good, they got a couple of our past great administrators calling the shots.
-
I tend to have to agree with you on Johnson and Anderson. I think (hope?) that either or both are getting way overlooked. If even just one of them works out we could have a real pleasant surprise on our hands.
-
I find this interesting. The Bills don't offer a multiple year deal to Hall and don't get him but they offer a multiple year deal to Bryant Johnson and still don't get him. What do you think signifies this?
-
There's some interesting names that you listed there, especially in the later rds. I'm not familiar with them but I think that I'll check them out.

Welcome aboard friend. I agree with you, anyone who wears the Bills' colors is one of us. If they don't care about the community, team, or the franchise then they better be a superstar (*see Bruce Smith) or I really don't have a lot of use for them. Once and for all I would like to go on record and state that I like Edwards but I don't know too much about him. I'm pulling for him and anyone else who is under center for us. On another note. I hope that this post clears the air for the members of this board and in some sick way it pulls all of us together for a common cause. I'd really like tom see us get back to the friendly debates and show a little more respect to each other even when we disagree. I know this sounds abit corny but it's true, I really mean it. Peace. -

Here's my mock first round draft.

Wow! Thanks, I'll take that as a huge compliment. It's no secret that I pour over all kinds of speculations, trades and potential draft prospects. I thought that I'd give it a shot, it's the ultimate speculation. It wasn't too difficult getting the first 15 picks or so but then it took some time to try and address the rest of the prospects and the remaining teams' needs and desires. I think that I did a decent job in my first ever 1st rd mock draft. That's why I wanted some feedback on this particular post, my other posts I could give two hoots about as far as feedback goes. I think that if I have a fair amount of accuracy in this mock then next year I might go after it even more and possibly try a 2 or 3 rd mock. It's not easy, that's for sure. -
I find it hard to believe that Sedrick Ellis falls all the way to #30 to the Packers. I made a mock draft where Dustin Keller goes to the 'Hawks at #25 but I could see them taking Fred Davis instead.

Naw, not at all Bro. I was just getting worked up when I was posting, kind of like that Stroud/front office rant I did at the beginning of free agency. If you missed it, it was kind of a classic. I'm not going anywheres, I'm addicted, it's like crack. Every once in awhile a post like this is called for, it gets every one and everything back in perspective. It kind of like purges the board and it's members of past transgressions gets everyone back to the Bills and football for, oh I would say, about 36 hours. After that it's back to everybody tearing each other's face off again. I guess you could call it off season blues or predraft jitters, you get the picture. That's exactly right John and of course you know that I wasn't referring to you at all. -

On a positive note. WR Adarius Bowman.
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's in the 4.7's for his 40 at the Combine and his Pro Day. I'm not promoting for us to take him with our 3rd rder but we could be able to select him with our 4th or 5th rder if we wanted to and that might be a good value then. -
On a positive note. WR Adarius Bowman.

I'm kind of in a spiteful mood so how about for all the fans that want Buffalo to take a WR with the #11 pick we take Bowman? Oh yeah, now I feel better. -

I'm not trying to talk you out of your conviction but in the first link, and that's exactly why I made it the first link, is an article that sounds like he matured and has made big strides in realizing his past mistakes. If you didn't read it in it's entirely then give it a shot and see if it makes a difference in your opinion of him. If not, that's cool. -

I'm not upset because JP is not the starter, not in the least bit. Matter of fact I'm all for trading him, I think my past posts about this got blown out, for the proper compensation but not just give him away. I think that JP sucks big time with those short skip passes, it infuriates me but on the other hand when he throws that long ball it's a thing of beauty and keeps you hoping for more. I'm tired of waiting myself for this to come to fruition. I haven't seen or know enough about Edwards to form an accurate opinion of him as our QB (I live in Florida), regardless of Losman. My point was more to do not about Losman the player but more about how he's getting knocked unfairly when he's done nothing wrong, a lot like what goes on this board. Look, Losman might not be a good QB but there is no need to tear him apart in other aspects of him. I, like others, might not a good poster but there is no need to attack me or others about it. That is what I was really referring to. -
If you haven't realized yet that I have been advocating for us to draft a WR in the 3rd rd area due to my belief that there is valid talent there to be gotten for our #2 WR position. I posted about Bowman first when I satrted this crusade and then followed it up with Jordy Nelson. IMO nothing has changed. Nelson is projected to be available in the 3rd rd and Bowman, as of now, is projected to go as late as the 5th rd. Point is there is plenty to choose from after the 1st rd. http://wdef.com/news/adarius_bowman_ready_...l_draft/03/2008 I love his size, wing span and most of all, his humbleness. I think that most of us would love to have someone like Brandon Marshall (Baby TO) before the recent unfortunate incident he just had, as our #2 WR. Well, this Bowman could be just that. There's nothing like a one handed catch by a WR to get you excited. With the first TD I think that I would have to credit the QB with squeezing it in there but I do like the second TD with the way Bowman caught the ball with his hands only. Nice! http://www.nfldraftdog.com/2008_nfl_draft/adarius_bowman.htm

I'm not really a supporter of JP as a football player but he is on our team and has been nothing but classy and community oriented. I respect him as a person and after reading all the bashing that goes on around here on him, other players, message board members and even myself, who none of you know me as a person but just as a blogger, gets to be too much. I'm not quitting the team but I am definitely going to scale back my interaction on this board. It's not enjoyable like it used to be. It's like post and then get into a defensive position. -

Sad, isn't it? -
It's disgusting what a good amount of the responses were to a guy posting something positive about one of our own players who has done nothing but exemplify what any franchise, team and fanbase would want out of their player. What, because JP didn't lead us to a Super Bowl he's a piece of sh--? The only pieces of sh-- are the ones who bashed this guy. The lot of you should be ashamed of yourselves. The bitching and moaning that goes on with this board is overwhelming. This isn't a message board about the Bills and football, it's a competition on who can be a bigger @$$hole. It's hard to determine who the clear cut winner is because there is so many to choose from. I apologize to the smaller portion of good people that interact on this board, none of this is directed towards you. This is meant towards the ones who consistently bash one another, tear down any and all aspects of our team and just blatantly want to be insulting, difficult and rude to each other. You know who you are. It will be the same ones who will respond to this post and unload on me and tell me how worthless I am, good riddance and any other put downs, insults and derogatory comments. That's fine but I'm beating you to the punch because to those of you that fall into that category I have one thing to say to you, you can kiss my @$$. What a great barometer JoeF's post is. It shows the true colors of the "Bills' fans". The backbiting that goes on around here is putrid. Why I ever tried to converse, interact or share ideas and information with the bulk of you is beyond me. I thought I was plugging into a fraternity of a blue collar, loyal, down to earth fanbase that truly cared not only about the team, franchise and the qualities of life that were of years past but about each other because we were all in this together but I was wrong. I need to get my head examined for having such delusional thoughts. I'm not going to be a part of it anymore. I will still read some of the posts from the people who really care about the team, football and each other but for the lot of you and your snide comments and remarks will be of no interest to me. This board seems to only come out in droves for only the shi--y, negative posts so I expect this one will be a real winner. Go ahead, feast on it. It will probably make your day to unload all your negative sh-- and comments on me. I'm glad to be of service. Me personally, I have endured more than enough of some of the people's rude, insulting comments on this board but I have three things to say about that. First, how many of you people who hide behind a keyboard, would really have the balls to say half the sh-- that you say to me or anyone else on this board face to face? Hmm, I suspect a very small percentage. Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a tough guy or trying to be, I just wouldn't take your sh--. Secondly, I invited some of these rude responses with some of the BS that I posted but what gives you or anyone else the right to talk to people like you do? This is suppose to be a message board about the Bills and football, not attacking each other. Thirdly, don't go bitching and crying when this team loses and players leave. Having a fanbase like this, who in the hell would want to have any loyalty to this organization?? The days of Jim Kelly & Co are gone. Those poor bastards are still thinking that we have all those loyal, die hard fans that just idolize our players from yesteryear but I guess they forgotten that back in those days we were winning. Oh, how the times have changed! We have been consistently losing and our real mettle is now exposed for what it is, a bunch of negative, whiny cry babies who will lash out at anybody and everything that gets in our way. To JP and all of the other past and present Bills, I apologize to you for our "fanbase". Forgive them for they don't know what they're doing. They don't speak for all of us, just most of us. I hope that JP goes to another team and contributes to their community like he has to ours and he is embaced and recognized by them for what he is and not based on who he is and then he comes back to the Ralph and kicks our @$$. I said what I wanted to say and you can bet that I would say it not only by a keyboard but also to your face. Now it's your turn, you got something to say?

Don't take it as begging. I post alot more than my share but I feel that I bring more good than bad to this board. 90+% of my posts are just off the cuff opinions, speculations and player updates. Not the biggest effort needs to go into these kinds of posts but this one here was laborish. I know that alot of my posts entertain, even when I get flamed for them. I notice that plenty of them get viewed, even when the responses are low but this one is different, I earned interaction on this one. I admit that Hardy is someone that I expected to go in the 2nd rd but with what has been rumored with the big three, Kelly (knees), Sweed (not physical enough, wrist injury) and Thomas (only 6 catches in 2006), I might have undervalued Hardy abit and he could sneak into the end of the first rd now. I like your idea of accumalating an extra 3rd or 4th rd pick and taking a C if we were to trade down. I won't disagree with what you say overall because this is only my opinion and speculation. I would like to talk about Seattle and their WR situation for a moment though. They made the trade for Branch and Burleson while they let San Fran have Darrell Jackson and booting Koren Robinson for obvious reasons. while there was no of predicting about Branch getting injured, I do believe that Burleson was added not only out of spite for them losing Steve Hutchinson to Minnesota but also because they felt that Jackson was suspect and Burleson would be a competent replacement. I think so far that they were more right than wrong about this one. Was there any suspicion about letting Hackett go so easily? If they are so thin at the WR position, then why not make more of an effort to retain Hackett? Injury prone? No, I don't see it that way but maybe I'm wrong about this one. I think that the 'Hawks are more confident about their receiving corp than what the public believes. They got Jordan Kent, he's tendered for a 6th rder, who I believe will be an important part in this year's offense. The guy is just an absolute fantastic athlete and now he's got a year under his belt. I wanted Buffalo to draft him badly last year with one of our 7th rders but Seattle got him instead. Keep an eye on this this, I think that this guy is going to surprise alot of people from around the league this year. -
