  1. No doubt. I do wonder if moving Losman now would be better for us than just to lose him after the season ends and receive zero compensation, ala Nate Clements. I believe that we are the team that's able to utilize JP more than anybody THIS year. It's the future then has me wondering. I look back and try to make sense out of us letting Clements walk for nothing and I come to the conclusion that at that time maybe our braintrusts figured that we needed to have his leadership and experience for our young team. I do think/believe that although they went on record saying that we have full intentions of at least wanting and trying to retain Nate that we really didn't stand a shot of accomplishing this, unless of course, they totally misfigured the market for the CB position. On the flip side is the San Diego Chargers. They are an established team with a star RB and a starter who is on the bench in Michael Turner. They, as we all know, also just let Turner walk and recieved no compensation for him. I don't believe that our current situation is like either scenario where the team just let the players walk away and recieve nothing in return. It's probably still too early to make this call but as of right now it doesn't appear that any team is going to be willing to give us fair compensation for Losman as far as draft picks go. I think that if we do trade JP by draft time that our best compensation comes in coupling him with one of our draft picks and moving up. I wouldn't condone this concept unless it was done in the 1st rd only, it would be senseless to do this in any other rd IMO. My question at this time would be that if this were to happen, who would you want us to trade up for? If Losman is going to be traded, regardless how or for what, is that a good thing for Trent Edwards growth or a negative? Is it best to give hime valid competition or would we just be handing him the job like we did with Losman? We all saw how that worked out! Or could it be that they don't think JP is valid competition?
  2. I don't think that Croyle is in over there. I'm not suggesting that Herm Edwards wants Losman but because Edwards came from our division I'm curious if that affects his opinion of Losman. Either Edwards would him more because of it or he doesn't want him at all. Regardless of Losman I do feel that Huard is out over there in Kansas City and that they have to make a decision with Croyle. Now, if they decide to stick with Croyle, then there'll be no need for Losman or any other early draft picks at the QB position but if they aren't going to go with Croyle then this could open the door for Losman or even Matt Ryan if he is still available when they pick at the #5 spot.
  3. I have been reading more and more about how Kansas City wants to trade down. If Herm Edwards were a player for Losman would it be worth it to trade our #11 pick and Losman to be in a position for someone Dorsey? Is this fair compensation for both teams or would we have to throw in a pick (5th rder?) also?
  4. Well, I know that when we played Dallas on the Monday nighter, we didn't disappoint. I know, I know, we didn't have a prayer in that game and the only reason why we were in it was because the vaunted Dallas Cowboys, America's team, overlooked us. We had no business being on the field. There's two reasons IMO that really overshadow us . First, we are in the same division as the Patriots, probably the team with the best overall record in the last seven or eight years. To compound matters even more is the fact that for some unknown reason to me, unless it's just because we are a division foe, they seem to relish pounding us unmercifully year after year. While the Patriots have been enjoying the spotlight during this time, the rest of the nation sees us getting our @$$ throttled by them. Secondly, the AFC East as a division, and Buffalo as a individual, don't usually draft or pick up the marquee name. There's no glamour in our division. The Patriots themselves are known as a bunch of collective, no name, blue collar, team players. I'm not faulting the Patriots for our woes but they do cast a big shadow. In the meantime we have been extremely inconsistent with our personnel, from the front office to the coaches and in turn down to our players on the field. We now have two years in placed with our current staff for the most part and by all indications we are heading in the right direction. I don't believe that we are that far removed from being a dangerous threat to most teams on any given Sunday.
  5. If the Rams were to take Ghoulston then that would really put a whole different spin on the first several picks of the draft. I'm going to take a shot on what it might look like. See if this would sound right, if not adjust it accordingly. Miami- DE Chris Long St Louis- DE Vernon Ghoulston Atlanta- QB Mat Ryan Oakland- RB Darren McFadden Kansas City- OT Jake Long Jets- CB Leodis McKelvin Patriots- DE Derrick Harvey Baltimore- DT Glenn Dorsey Bengals- DT Sedrick Ellis Saints- CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Buffalo- ?
  6. It's supposed to be between either the Jets or Patriots but FWIW now I'm reading from a few other "experts" that the Rams might take him with the #3 pick.
  7. Hopefully having a second lasik surgery makes a huge difference for Bowman. Right now it appears that his stock has slipped because of this and a couple of other issues but each of these concerns seem to have been corrected and if so he could land up being a real steal. Of course if the verification of these issues prove to be resolved than I would love to see Buffalo take him. Well, it seems that Bowman also had a knee injury towards the end of the season and he could still be effected by that also. I just read the other day that we're not getting any compensatory picks this year. I could be wrong about this but right now it doesn't look good for us.
  8. Is it inconceivable for Hardy to be converted to a pass catching TE? I ask this because I was surfing the Chargers' official website and they have a WR, Legedu Naanee, that has different roles that he plays. Check out his bio. http://www.chargers.com/team/roster/legedu-naanee.htm Based on their current players on their roster I was wondering if trading a future draft pick (4th rder?) out of our 2009 draft to the Chargers for WR Malcolm Floyd would be possible. If so this could be a way for us to create more flexibility for ourselves in this year's draft. They have Chris Chambers, Vincent Jackson, Buster Davis and this Naanee. They are very limited on picks this year so maybe a middle rder (5th rder?) in this year's draft and a late rd pick in next year's draft might even be better for all parties concerned. AJ Smith sure has assembled quite a roster out there in San Diego. On a side note check out how the Chargers actually have a pronunciation guide on alot of their players. That sure is a culturally integrated group of players. http://www.chargers.com/team/depth-chart/
  9. What he was saying is that he may be a great college talent and he's wondering if it will transfer to the next level. Even if it does, it won't matter because when he's playing in those garbage games against us at 1:oo that it won't matter because nobody will be watching it. I don't have a clue but apparently he's one of their draft experts.
  10. Paul Burmeister was interviewing Charles Davis and Pete Fiutak about Vernon Ghoulston and when Fiutak was giving his input he had the balls to say " Is Ghoulston going to shine in those 1:00 games against the Buffalo Bills when no one is watching?" Talk about disrespect! Oh, do I hope that Buffalo kicks some @$$ this year!
  11. http://buffalonews.typepad.com/billboard/2...b-visits-b.html I'm editing this post and adding this little nugget. I was listening to Sirius radio today and Jim Miller was interviewing WR James Hardy. They were discussing that several teams have been in talks with him so far. Philly, Dallas, Cincy and St Louis were the ones mentioned as having alot of interest and communication with him so far and I might be also leaving one more team out. Hardy was saying that the offense that Indiana was using had alot of short routes due to the lack of time that they had on offense to get off the line of scrimmage. Hardy went on to say that 20 yd diggs was a strength for him. Does this offense sound familiar? Then something was said that struck me as very odd. They were well past the topic of what teams were interested in him and then out of nowheres Jim Miller blurts out and asks him if he ever talked to Buffalo. Surprisingly enough Hardy said that the Bills were one of the first teams to talk to him. That's just about an exact quote. Hardy then mentioned Denver too but it was like that this was almost an after thought. Needless to say that I was pretty stunned hearing all of this unfolding. I tried to listen for another minute or so but I had to go into the bank at this time. There was something being said about the Penn ST CB (Justin King?) but I didn't really catch what they were saying. I thought that I'd put this little info in this post and see what anyone could make of it.
  12. I'm a faithful soldier of the "I don't give a sh-- who's on the team and nothing less than the post season is acceptable" campaign.
  13. On Sirius radio today Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan interviewed Limas Sweed ( what a great name that is) and this kid is well grounded. Tampa is very interested in him and it wouldn't surprise me if that's where he goes in the draft. They brought up an interesting point about these big WRs (6'2"+). That it might take longer for them to get off the LOS because of their size but look for their top end speed. That's where the difference is for them being successful at the next level. How many times did teams get caught up in the underwear football stats and passed up a real football player? They also were saying that Glenn Dorsey and Sedrick Ellis are running a close neck-to-neck race as far as who the higher rated DT is. They both agreed that with either of their physical build that they are more suited to play in a 4-3 defense and that it's ridiculous for anyone to speculate that a 3-4 team would be interested in either of them. Later in the day Tim Hasselback wasn't too impressed with DeSean Jackson but is with Early Doucet. He said Doucet is a flat out football player and does everything right. He said that he should be there in the 2nd rd and you can throw out the 40 time and be more concerned about what's under the pads and helmet. Pat Kirwan's mock draft has the Saints (#10) trading up in the 1st rd with New England at #7 and taking DT Sedrick Ellis, the Bengals taking DE Derrick Harvey at #9 and Buffalo with the 11th pick taking WR Malcomb Kelly. He also has the Raiders (#4) and Jets (36) swapping draft positions so the Jets can trump the Patriots and take DE Vernon Ghoulston, thus prompting New England to trade back with the Saints. The Raiders still wind up with RB Darren McFadden and the Patriots with CB Leodis McKelvin. In contrast to Kirwan's prognostications is the Bengals beat reporter Chuck Ludwig says he's "absolutely, positively convinced" that the team will use its first-round pick on an offensive tackle. The Bengals are said to be worried about Levi Jones' knees. I would rather have this scenario unfold and allow a blue chip defensive player slide down abit to Buffalo. MLive is also jumping in on the Derrick Harvey sweepstakes and states that if Harvey is there at the #15 slot that the Lions will select him with their first pick but Harvey might be well gone by then, some think as early as the #7 slot to New England. It's hard to get an accurate bead on just where this guy will going and to who. There are two major scouting agencies that the bulk of the league uses. Click on the following link and it will give a great understanding on scouting and the Combine. http://www.draftdaddy.com/features/blesto.cfm
  14. All kidding aside, you gave me an idea for one of my next posts. It's going to be decrypted.
  15. Good call there, they were talking along those lines yesterday on Sirius radio.
  16. I suggest that you go back and read EXACTLY what I said. If you are referring to the title where I said that I'm outta here, that was being used as a figure of speech, not literal. Read the WHOLE post and you'll see where I stated that I'm going to be more selective and not participate anymore with the negativity. The irony in your remark is that this is the kind of interaction I'm trying to avoid but I guess I don't have to participate, this kind of sh-- will just seek a person out. I'm still sticking to my guns though.
  17. Naw, I'm still stuck with a Moulds and Spikes' Pro Bowl jersey. I also bought Losman jersey when he was first named the starter. Whew! I'm glad that I missed that one! Matter of fact I was thinking about an Evans one too but I think that I'll hold off on that one. I admit that I don't know what was going on in his or anyone else's head, hell I don't even know what goes on in my head sometimes. I never meant to insinuate that he has had problems with teammates before except when his time was ending as a starter in Dallas with TO and I meant be wrong about it being TO, it might have been Keyshawn, I forget which one of them it was now. I confuse them two jerks because they act the same. I do agree that if he was winning I'd be shutting up about him. That's what makes me so mad at myself, I was NEVER a Bledsoe believer until he came to Buffalo and had that good year. I sold out on my convictions and then caught a pie in the face for it. I deserved that. Players living here doesn't give them a green light to suck but I will say that even Kelly, and I believe that he was a very obnoxious person when he was a player, was more endeared to me because it was more than just a job to him. They become more like one of us. I like that, ALOT. I don't hate anyone, but I do dislike a portion of the players in the game today. I can't really think of any current Bills' players that I dislike but I do pull for some more than others. Sorry, guilty as charged. As far as driving over to recruit volunteer workers, are you crazy, I'm too lazy and selfish to do that! I also agree wholeheartedly, winning does solve everything and that's what this franchise and fanbase desperately needs. Thanks, it's good to be here. How does that saying go? Where would you rather be than right here, right now? Go Bills!
  18. Ut oh, it looks like I'm starting to cause some pandemonium. Let me clarify my intent. I was insinuating that if the Jets were going to out and out release Robertson then maybe we should offer them a garbage pick. There's no trade talks going on between the Bills and Jets that I'm aware of. At this point I'm blaming the alcohol.
  19. Once again, this kid is made for Buffalo, I sure hope that we don't pass on him. On a side note. If you have read or heard his interview he was asked who at CB was someone worth mentioning and the first one he said was Tracy Porter. Here's another prospect that I hope that we get. I've been advocating him and Jordy Nelson for awhile now and I'm really wanting Bowman too. I think that this kid will be a special player in the NFL, I just hope that it will be for the Bills.
  20. All I know is the last time we drafted a Oklahoma State player we did pretty good.
  21. I'm sorry but I have an issue with this statement. Personally I'm sure that it's more than accurate but I think that when we talk professionally it's not a very true statement. First let me say that I was never was a Bledsoe fan professionally but I will admit that when Buffalo traded for him I drank the Kool-Aid. What I'm referring to is that when we did court him just before we signed him I remember that this franchise and community rolled out the red carpet for him. Then he had a great year and everything was hunky dory in Billsville. Then Price was traded and and the team for whatever reason spiraled downward. I won't blame Bledsoe for all of this but he was a big contributor to it though. My issue with Bledsoe first and foremost was this guy never bought into being one of us. he couldn't get out of town fast enough when the season ended and dragged his feet when it was time to come back for the next season. I will give him credit on the way that he handled himself when Brady emerged though. He was classy about it and wasn't a crybaby but because of that impression and him coming to my favorite team gave me some hope and a willingness to form a new opinion of him based on how he fared for his new team. When he and the team started to be unsuccessful, there wasn't anything that he exemplified that showed me that he was a veteran leader. When it was more than apparent that he wasn't worthy of being the starter and the Bills were wanting to annoint a new starter (Losman) he wasn't going to have any part of it. Regardless if it was a right or wrong decision he didn't even try to fake it as a supporter of this franchise. What he showed in New England he didn't show here in Buffalo. Not that any of this deserves the type of treatment that him and his family had to endure but it also doesn't mean that his on the field play should be excused either. When he threw that pass away with about two minutes left in the game against Oakland at the Ralph with still a chance to win was the final straw for me. This was after he numerously held on to the ball and would get sacked countless times to end any kind of hope of pulling games out. The icing on the cake for me would be listening to all his BS post game press conferences and never hearing him stepping up and taking the responsibility for it. There was always a reason for their loss and always an excuse. Have you ever heard of the saying of taking one for the team? Well, he wouldn't be taking one for the team because he WAS the reason, that's why they blew so many games, especially when it came to crunch time. I tell you what, if I was a teammate of his at that time I would have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. TO didn't when Bledsoe went to Dallas but that's a I, I, me, me player who was dead wrong for being public about it. I don't think that it's a coincidence that both of these players landed up playing for multiple teams. Where Bledsoe may have not been like that originally but he landed up like that eventually. TO has always been like that, so it doesn't come as any big surprise. Bledsoe then went off to Dallas to be a starter and play for his original coach who not only wanted him but was willing to give him every shot under the sun. What happens next? Parcells realized that Drew wasn't even close to being the player he was in years past. I don't condone TO's actions towards him though neither. Matter of fact, it pissed me off and I wasn't even close to being a Bledsoe fan at this time or feeling any kind of loyalty to him for being an ex Buffalo player but teammates should be in it together, if not privately then at least in front of the public eye. Then Parcells benched him and Bledsoe's attitude eroded almost immediately, even faster and more so than it did in Buffalo. So what does Bledsoe do then? He pouts and takes his ball and goes home. While, I can't fault a guy for being competitive and believing in himself but I can and am turned off on what projected to be a pouting, dimenished player who at this point in his career was only concerned about what was going to happen for him and not even caring about the big picture. There's a big difference between Bledsoe and Testaverde, that's for sure. To finish up this thing on Bledsoe the final display of his attitude was when Cincinatti was thinking about signing him on as a back up to Palmer, he wanted no part of it unless he could be a starter for a team. Why? He certainly hasn't done or shown anything that would even tempt a team to give him a chance as a starter. His production as a starter has vanished years ago and either he wouldn't come to terms with it or he didn't care if it was true, he wasn't going to have any part of it. That's cool but don't tell me what a great guy he is. His actions spoke volumes to me.
  22. I'm sorry to be reposting after myself but I found something very interesting that you should all check out Here's a highlight video on a website that the media department at Oklahoma State put together for him. That there says alot, he didn't put this together, his school did. That shows you what they think of him right there. I believe this video speaks volumes about this young man. I think that sometimes you can just throw out the 40 times at the underwear football try outs and just look at the person and the player. his resume speaks for itself so it's down to the person. In this video I really dig when he made a TD that he was high fiving some of the people in the endzone and the stands. http://bowman12.com/video.html and here's the entire website. http://bowman12.com/ I'm going on record now. I got a feeling about this young man. This kid will be a Buffalo Bill, he's evrything that we have been looking for. I'm even going to find any and all emails that I can find to the Bills' front office and campaign for this kid. I don't want him to be overlooked or taken lightly in the least bit.
  23. Bravo Deano. It's the selective reading that causes most of these controversies.
