I just wanted to say that. Right now I'm so proud of them! I wish Tim Russert could see them now. I wonder what he'd have to say after this great Jacksonville win.

I did too and I wanted that opportunity to prove it. -

I don't feel sorry for him but at the same time I don't think that it was a great thing to happen to this league though either. I'm just not celebrating the injury for several reasons, that's all. -
There's multiple reasons why. To cheer that someone got mangled isn't right and that is probably towards the top of the list. He's one of the biggest stars in the game that I love and I don't see it as a benefit to losing someone of his magnitude, the game regresses IMO. As a Bill's fan I want our team to be #1 but not by default. I want to beat the best to be the best, anything short of that becomes more hollow. If we are to win the division and have any kind of great success in the play-offs, then we'll never get the proper credit, and we all know how sensitive and insulted most of us get about the credibility that we recieve as a franchise, team and community. The masses can celebrate Brady's injury all they want but it really takes away from all who love and follow the NFL.

The Fins have given up just 24 points in the last three pre-season games and are starting to have fun with their defense. I posted about them being a team on the rise and promptly got flamed for it. Did anyone noticed how they have been crushing opponents' pockets (5 sacks vs KC and 5 sacks again in Thursday's night game against the Saints)? They have a no name front seven, some newcomers, some old timers but they are starting to buy into their new system and having a ball with it. They only gave up 99 yards against the Saints that featured many back-ups. They were doing "The Flywheel" all night long. That's what they do after they sack the QB or make a big play on defense. After the play that's when they get low to the ground and put their hands together and put them them in a circular motion to mimic cranking an old car. It was inspired by former Syracuse coach Paul Pasqualoni who is now the Dolphins' DC. It's suppose to represent what a flywheel does for a car. The flywheel is a rotating disc on a car that relies on momentumto pick up speed. "When you first start cranking the wheel, it's hard," LB Channing Crowder said. "But when you get the momentum going, and you get oil moving, it starts going much smoother." It has been impressive so far how they have been dismantling offensive pockets with their DL. This makes me wonder all the more why we didn't make Marcus Stroud type players more of a priority before this last off season. I believe that the AFC East will be the dominate division once again in the very near future based on what is presently going on in it. I just hope that Buffalo can be at the top of it because these other teams (Jets and Miami) are sure picking up steam.

I agree. I haven't gotten to see the whole game but so far that is by far my favorite play. It was a fantastic play and one we can build on as in confidence and production. I thought JP laid it in there perfectly and James was real smooth. -

Thanks Kelly. I'm at work right now but I wonder if I can catch that on my DVR when I get home. -

I think that he may be putting alot of pressure on himself. I went back and forth on trying to evaluate the addition of Hardy on our team and although it might be just a bit quirky but that little scene kind of spoke volumes to me on maybe his mental make-up. I'm suddenly pulling for him big time on and off the field. -
All he did was shake hands with JP. It was kind of awkward looking. It wasn't a high five or any big exuberance. I'm not faulting the guy, it just wasn't what I expected. After reading all the stories that have been written about him it's not the type of reaction one would think he'd do. It's hard to put into words but I guess what I'm trying to say that from an emotional standpoint James seems to be still very uncomfortable. This could actually be a great thing because the more that he is at ease with his teammates, who he is and where he's at in life and on the team the more I think he will prosper and bloom.

WR Terry Glenn is expected to sign with the Dolphins.

Looks like Pennington. Apparently not. -
The Jets couldn't boot Pennington fast enough. How will this impact the team's chemistry? Only time will tell but I would venture to guess that even in a best case scenario it will take several games for them, or at least Farve, to get all on the same page. The other possible result is that there might be key players (Coles?) who aren't exactly thrilled with the way the Jets handled Pennington and his release from the team. http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jet...,7834516.column

Harbaugh runs a pretty rigid camp by some accounts and we all know how indifferent MaGahee can be. It's also not unusual for a new staff to anoint their own players. This youngster has been impressing them so far and it would be some satisfaction to see Willis become the same disgruntled player he was here.

How desperate is the Dolphins QB position?
Tipster19 replied to DDD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Damon Huard seems like he could be a Parcels' type of player and I wouldn't be too surprised if he were to become expendable. -

I'm not bothered by the difference of opinions but the personal attacks isn't called for neither. I don't recall Buffalo being a powerhouse and dominating the division. If the 4-5 wins that you predict the Dolphins are going to win, can one of them be against the Bills? If so, then their "improvement" is a threat to our play-off aspiration. I remember when Simon posted about if the Bills should get Ricky Williams and it was one of the bigger threads on the board at that time. I believe that Williams will be more than a has been player for the Fins and will help their cause this year. Could Williams be another OJ Andersen? Maybe. Merling will be someone who you will see at least twice a year. Why don't you save this thread and bring it back after the second time we play them this year, I'd be curious to see what you would have to say. To answer your question about my location, the Dolphins and the Bucs are plastered all over the newspaper, news, and radio daily. I wouldn't call it "special powers" but more like, um, consciousness? BTW, nope I have never been to their camp and never will but I suspect that neither have you. It's ironic that you brought up Jake Long/Phillip Merling. Over the week-end these two got into a fight. Long put Merling on his @$$ and Merling came up swinging and just yesterday Vonnie Holliday beat Long on a play and the very next play Long pancaked him. The Dolphins are moving Holliday to RDE with Roth and Merling battling for the LDE spot. -

It's amazing how posts get twisted around here, especially in such a short thread. This is what I initially posted. It's looks pretty clear to me that I stated that a veteran QB would make the Fins a much more dangerous team than expected. Who said that the Bills suck when they lose close games? -

It was due to money. Dallas wanted to pay him less and not accept any liability. PTR, are you for real??! Miami lost 6 games by 3 points or less AND they didn't fare any worse against the Patriots than us and that's just off the top of my head. Matter of fact we got crushed in BOTH games against the Pats. -

They got rid of an aging concussion plagued LB, got paid nicely for a senior DE who really is thinking more about life outside of football and had a tremendous influx of young players thru the draft. Yeah, the Dolphins are making all the wrong moves. They added a WR in Ernest Wilford that just about everyone around here pined for, TEs Sean Ryan and Anthony Fasano, a few other good WRs in Greg Camarillo, Derek Hagan and Ted Ginn Jr who is a flat out speed demon. The backfield has Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. Their OL is vastly improved from 3, 4 years ago with an addition like Justin Smiley and a few young veterans like Vernon Carey and Samson Satele. Then they have some guys on defense like DEs Mat Roth and Vonnie Holliday, DT Randy Starks and I'd even throw in Joey Porter as someone who we should pay attention to. I'm not going thru the whole roster to justify and I don't know where you live but I'm less than 200 miles from Miami and so far in camp DE Phillip Merling flat out hammered Ricky Williams. Oh yeah, the guy is a player. So, keep insulting me if that makes you feel better but I wonder just how much you really do know about football. -
This team is ready to take a quantum leap this year barring injuries. Will Jauron be ready to step up to the plate or will he wilt? I'm confident in the defense being solid, special teams spectacular and the offense being downright explosive. My only question at this time is will Jauron play conservatively or will he be willing to be a little flambouyant this year?

I wouldn't surprised one bit if Farve were to land up with the NY Jets. How about this for a trade scenario? The Packers trade Farve to the Jets and in return the Green Bay gets the Jets' 4th or 5th rder in the 2009 draft. The Eagles then spices it up for the Packers by adding CB Lito Shepard in the mix. CB Al Harris is 33 yrs old and Shepard would give the Pack immediate compensation. The Jets in turn compensate the Eagles by trading them WR Lavarious Coles. If the Jets were to replace Pennington with Farve then that would diminish Coles with the Jets to a certain degree, they're very satisfied with WR Jerricho Cotchery thus making Coles more dispensible. It would be a win-win-win situation for all parties involved.
-
It wouldn't surprise me to see a 3 team trade being made involving the Eagles/Lito Shepard and a decent draft pick for Farve. If this were to happen then I wonder if the other team involved could be the Vikings. I wouldn't be too worried if I were the Packers of allowing Farve to go to the Vikings. As long as the Packers were compensated handsomely then how long would Farve really play? Two years, max? That's not too long of a period if the price were right.

What Bills' collectible(s) do you value the most?
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That indeed is very special. It says alot about who you are as a Bills' fan. Elijah was/is a good man and I miss him. I'm very impressed with the fierce loyalty and dedication that so many have shown with their collectibles (collectables?). Even though it's #8293 I couldn't imagine that the #1 has more value than yours.
