  1. Meh. This is not an argument. Some players are better than others. What is your approach to the RB position, inclusive of both the draft and free agency? Be specific and with no snark (please).
  2. I hear you, but if Motor ends up being cheap, why not re-sign him and focus the draft on more key positions? Singletary is legit above average by every measure, and we need to get better at passing and blocking. If he comes cheap and Josh is a fan (which he is), keep him.
  3. Cook sucked at blocking last season (turnstile), although he may get better.
  4. No, not at all. You are the one who brought up ST play for a putative starter. It’s not relevant to the conversation. As for Singletary, the numbers are the numbers, and to quote @BADOLBILZ, beyond 4 ypc, RBs make their own yards. He’s been at 4.6 and above his entire career.
  5. I agree about his receiving ability, but he’s actually become a pretty damn good “desperation” blocker (ie, when Saffold or Brown whiffs completely and he has to deal with the consequences). That’s no small thing. Jamaal Williams had 17 tds because he ran it from the 1-2 yard line 15 times. Rushing tds is the most overrated stat of all time.
  6. No one on any team cares whether he can play ST. That is a red herring.
  7. Because he’s above average even when factoring in the offense the Bills run. Is he truly elite? No, but he is better than average and the Bills should be spending their picks/money on receivers and o-line. Plus he knows the offense and Allen trusts him, which are no small things.
  8. Evidence of light boxes vs what the chiefs’ and bengals’ backs run against? Do people watch other teams?
  9. Over hundreds of carries, it all averages out. Trust me. The sample size with Singletary (672 carries) is huge at this point.
  10. You gave no reasons. Compare him with the other elite passing teams.
  11. Gore averaged 3.6 against the same teams and the chiefs’ ypc since 2019 is under 4.7. Come up with a more empirically sound argument. See above.
  12. Not remotely funny (network tv from 20 years ago — really?), but more importantly, please elaborate with actual evidence rather than snark. Nothing says he’s average given the craptastic bills’ o-line and league-wide ypc averages since 2019. Recall that Gore averaged 3.6 ypc in 2019.
  13. This isn’t an argument. Elaborate, please.
  14. The numbers are the numbers. Just sayin.’
  15. Cook has burst and Singletary has legit wiggle. They are not the same. The two are different backs without question. No, they are very, very different backs. Wiggle/vision between the tackles vs burst in space. I regard this as an obvious difference between the two but am willing to listen alternative views.
  16. Singletary has averaged 4.7 ypc for his career (and 4.7 in 2022) and the league average in the years he has played is between 4.3 and 4.4 (trust me, but look it up if you doubt me: https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/league-average-yards-per-carry-by-running-backs-2022). Since he has entered the league, he has always been above league average. And lest you think any RB can average these numbers, Frank Gore averaged 3.6 ypc in 2019 for the Bills (a year in which Allen had 510 yards rushing and nearly 5 ypc). Point is, the grass ain’t always greener.
  17. Given that he’s the second best player on the team (given that Miller is injured), him remaining on the Bills is a good thing.
  18. He played well against both Miami in the playoffs and Cincy, where he was one of the only players who actualy showed up on D. Had a couple of pass breakups that day.
  19. This is kind of comically wrong about CBs. The lack of good cbs is why the Redskins have been terrible on D despite a great front. The lack of CBs is why Seattle’s D was getting constantly shredded after the legion of boom era ended. The addition of Sauce Gardner to the Jets last year vaulted them into the top tier of defenses. No team currently thinks like you do about CBs, and I bet you 5-6 are drafted in the first round this year. That said, I agree that the loss of Edmunds is big.
  20. a little early to be saying that. Cincy all of a sudden needs safeties …
  21. I love Smith's game, but I won't be surprised if Edmunds is the better player next year. He got a lot better this past season -- meaning that he's improving.
  22. He's a better player than most Bills fans think he is, and the upside (youth, athleticism, experience, leadership) is tremendous. He's not a perfect player but he's one of the better off-ball LBs in the league. He was great in pass pro last season, and it's a passing league.
  23. Agreed. I figured the Bears would go after him. It's definitely a loss for the Bills; he had a very good season last year. They're going to have to replace him in FA. I've wanted Lavonte David for a while given that I figured Edmunds was gone.
  24. Well, Schefter was right.
  25. I'm American and I don't get it either. My general view is that this tweet is utterly meaningless and that he may well have been trashed.
