Yeah, felt the same. If he led him, there's a decent chance it'd have been picked. also, attributing the injury to the throw is a big reach; he was injured on the tackle, and he was going to be tackled no matter what on that play.
It is ironic that you bring up the falcons losing their top receivers for the second half. As you may be aware, the Bills have no good wide receivers to begin with.
Collective team passer rating differential (offense and defense combined) is the most predictive stat in league history. https://www.si.com/more-sports/2011/06/23/most-importantstatpasserratingdifferential
It was a good throw. The reciever obviously stumbled --it's apparent on the all 22. There was a huge thread about this. You should check it out, and check out the overhead video.
In their last three games, the Bills have played 3 SB participants from the last two seasons' SBs. If denver wins today, the Bills opponents' collective record will be 11-5.
Whaley, who is presumably looking for a job, doesn't look good w/regard to his war on Taylor. Whaley got some good talent for this team, but man, was he wrong on the qb situation.
Crocodile tears. Trevathan has a rep as a dirty player. The intent issue is a red herring anyway -- all we have is the actual evidence, and it's overwhelmingly negative for Trevathan.
If the league doesn't suspend Trevathan for multiple games, they will have zero credibility on the concussion issue. That was a completely unnecessary hit given that he was on his way down anyway.
I remember that piece well. The issue is that when he got out of there (after a scant two years!), he didn't pick up his game at all.
Interesting story, and it has the ring of truth. But no excuses with a contract like that.
Haynesworth failed in New England and Tampa Bay. He was cut by NE in midseason and went unpursued by TB after he played half a season for them. Look at his AV in the season right before his big contract -- 18 ( https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HaynAl20.htm). Dareus had a 17 AV in the year before his big contract. Haynesworth blamed the Washington coaching for his poor performance after signing the contract; Dareus has essentially done the same. He's now in a defense that is ideal for his skill set. Yet he hasn't made any plays beyond playing stout in a space-eating role.
I never suggested that they release him; it's impossible anyway right now. I suspect that he will be cut after June 1 of next year, however.
Dareus has mostly himself to blame, although to be fair he probably doesn't blame himself for anything given how rich he made himself. He's immature, but not immature enough to fail to exploit his immense talent right before his one opportunity for a huge payday came about. Haynesworth is the obvious comparison - another super-talented malingerer who complained about how we used by the team that paid him a huge contract and who then went on to fail in other defenses allegedly more suited to his talents as a 4-3 guy.
