  1. Relocation or a purchase by Trump. If they move, theyll mean as much to me as the Kentucky Colonels, the Cleveland Barons, the San Francisco Seals, rhe Memphis Showboats, and the Miami Screaming Eagles currently do. This too. If they win a SB, Im out retiring on top.
  2. Aargh - fixed it, but here it is again. I'm in northern Thailand right now and not on top of it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-football-youth-decline-met-20170904-story.html
  3. I think a lot of people are ignoring the elephant in the room. The declines stemming from this factor aren't overnight ones, bit rather slow and long term. But I'd bet a lot of money that this is a contributing factor. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-football-youth-decline-met-20170904-story.html Also: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2726124-report-shows-continuing-drop-in-high-school-football-players 'According to a survey last week from the California Interscholastic Federation, "football participation [in the state] actually decreased by 3.12 percent over the past year and about 10 percent over the past decade," per Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle.' California is key.
  4. Am I? Not that you're over the top, but it seems to me that you've been fairly critical of FO throughout this thread. I personally think it's pretty darn good and better than, say, pff. Some sites aand methods are better than others. Maybe I'm misreading your intent, however.
  5. Man. Actually go and look at qb dvoa over stretches that are more than just 5 games. Stafford in 2015 and 2016 was a top ten dvoa qb (9th both seasons) and far higher than taylor, a mid-high teens guy both seasons (14th in 2015 and 19th in 2016). ALL of those numbers match up with reality, at least as I perceive it. FO's stats are good; cherrypicking to make a crusade-like argument isn't. Dig a little deeper. Seriously. Everyone with half a brain here knows stafford is better. Suggesting otherwise is a straw man argument. But taylor is better than a bunch of other guys. He's average. Bottom line: the dvoa numbers need larger sample sizes to work; like all small sample sizes, they are subject to spikiness.
  6. Miller was HORRIBLE in pass protection last season. He's not good. Ducasse is terrible too. It does seem like almost every Nfl team has one atrocious lineman (i do realize that there are a couple of exceptions).
  7. The one time they went 1-13, Haven Moses, Marlon Briscoe, JD Hill, and Bob Chandler were all on the roster.
  8. Let's not forget that the Bills beat the Falcons because they were gifted a TD through an astonshingly bad call--laughably bad, the likes of which I haven't seen in a long time (perhaps the GB dual possession "INT" or the Calvin Johnson non-TD for Detroit). Without that call, the Bills likely don't win.
  9. He's solid, but he's just not the penetrator of yore. Not sure if that's scheme or him.
  10. McCown has played about as I expected, to be honest - he's an old vet who understands the game, and he's been blessed with crappy competition the last few weeks. He's a guy who will have runs - i.e., his lights-out performance for the Bears in 2013. He quickly came back to earth, however -- as he always does. He's not a great QB for a team that's behind, and I expect his numbers will be bad this week against the Pats regardless of the limitations of the Pats' secondary (I expect NE to utterly blow them out). One thing I've noticed about the Jets - Kearse is a pretty good player. Ryan Matthews is essentially a poor man's Kearse (not that Matthews is a bad player or anything like that). There is terrible blocking, opponents know what's coming, and they don't fear the Bills receivers - it's pretty simple. McCoy looks as elite in terms of speed/cutting ability as he's always looked.
  11. DTs can get sacks in the McDermott system, though. Kawaan Short had 11 sacks from the DT spot in 2015. Williams is hardly an embarrassment out there, but whereas he was a genunine difference-making playmaker in the past, I haven't seen that at all this season.

  13. Not true. The Bills are ranked 23rd in offense: 28th in rushing and 18th in passing. The low number of turovers and SOS accounts for the relatively high pass ranking. Taylor is ranked 19th among qbs. The Bills top qualifying receiver, Zay Jones, is ranked 71st and Matthews, who doesn't have enough targets to qualify for the main board, has solid numbers (scroll down). http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/wr
  14. We can absolutely get worse! Just click on the links above.
  15. I'm not saying they're going to do anything, but the Eagles are in it to win it now - they have a very, very good chance to win the division this season and possibly even get a bye. Sometimes you've gotta play for the now.
  16. agreed - Schwartz had his greatest success when he had two top d-linemen (Williams and Dareus in Buffalo). When he had just one good DT in Detroit (Suh), the numbers on D weren't great. In TN, Tony Brown (playing alongside Haynesworth) actually had a couple of good seasons in 2007-08, their best years under Schwartz.
  17. read the BN story - Glenn for Randall Cobb makes sense for both teams. Huge upgrade for both sides.
  18. That's my take too - something does appear to be up. There is some genuine smoke here, and anyone who has watched AZ, SEA, and GB's lines can understand why they'd be willing to gamble on a top-shelf LT who may have some injury issues.
  19. https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/197134-worst-wr-corps-ever-collateral-damage-to-dropzone-jones/?p=4594344 I don't have video evidence, so you'll hve to trust me when I say that these were effectively all drops.
  20. AJ Green is a great player, but he has never had as good of an individual season as Dareus did in 2014.
  21. That same pair led a WR corps that helped Bills QBs throw for 28 TD passes in 14 games (2 per game) in 1975, which is the most in team history save for 1991. Chandler and Hill combined for 13 TD catches in 14 games that season, and OJ had over 1800 yards. The Bills were #1 in both points scored and yards that season. What happened after that season was a very Bills-y story ... David Nelson was actually OK - he made some plays and was a reliable third down target. The guys the Bills are running out there now are FAR worse than Nelson was.
