  1. Who cares?? Which qb contributed zero to the victory and which qb contributed everything?????????? one qb played one play and handed it off for a six yard loss. The other qb made every pass in the game and had a passer rating of 120 or something (over 10 yards per pass and 73 percent completion rate). Who contributed to the victory and who didn't? Who therefore deserves credit for the victory? Answer me that before saying anything else. (Also, bear in mind that I don't even like qb win-loss stats. That said, they're the world we live in, and if he is going to be judged on them, he should get credit where credit is due.)
  2. You are being very disingenuous here. also, why do you even care anyway given how silly the argument that Cassell "started" (much less deserves credit for the victory) is? Do you dislike Taylor that much? Dog is certainly right about intellectual dishonesty too.
  3. Thanks to the OP for posting. I hadn't checked the main site today and I had missed this excellent piece. People who get into high, self-righteous dudgeon over paying a nominal charge for something that is practically free (which is what $2.99 per month IS) need to get a grip.
  4. No he didn't. Taylor did. They simply ran a trick play at the outset with Taylor out wide. It was designed to fool the Colts' defense who knew Taylor was the starter. Cassell didn't play another down. It wasn't even as if Taylor was on the sideline for that play.
  5. 23-20, not 22-20. Someone has to alert the official stat keepers about this. Cassell was NOT the starter that game and should not get the win. Play one was a freaking trick play, for chrissake.
  6. Weak. Do better. This is a hardcore site (or should be). Kirby brings it all of the time with good analysis. Do the same or refrain from engaging.
  7. I think they'd have to trade 21 and 22 for an elite QB like Luck. That's the price one has to pay. The Bills specifically got that extra pick last year to deal with the QB situation in 2018, after all. They are NOT going to avoid seeking a huge upgrade at the position. Beane said as much.
  8. My sense is that he'll eventually be 100 percent. They deliberately took it slow, in part because I think Luck was extremely pissed at the team for how they handled it initially. Luck's relationship with the organization is ultimately the wild card in all of this. He may demand to get out, and it may the be the case that McDaniels doesn't want to deal with this sort of situation. They can trade Luck for picks 21 and 22, and then draft a QB at 3 in what is the best QB draft in years. That's not a bad plan for a new coach. Also, the fact that he doesn't appear to need another surgery is pretty big news. That news just came out.
  9. But his cap number really isn't that bad. It's squarely in line with good veteran qbs. That's what I don't get in your line of thinking. His cap numbers for the next four years are $18, million, $21 million, $22 million, and $21 million. The cap goes up a fair bit every year, you know, so the flatness of the final three years means it's a relative decline. Fox just agreed to massively increase the amount of money they pay the NFL annually too.
  10. The claim that his was the only qb that Rex's defense fooled is simply not true. Man, just a couple of weeks later, they absolutely smothered Miami and won 41-14. Your hate of Luck, is very strong, and frankly borders on trolldom at this point. When he starts, the bad franchise he plays for wins a fair bit more than it loses. If healthy (and fwiw I think he will be), he would quite possibly end up being the best qb in team history. He's certainly likely to be better than Bledsoe/Fergy/Flutie. As for Kelly, who knows, but it is the case that Jimbo really only had 2-3 truly elite seasons in his career (1990, 1991, and I'd add 1995 given the situation). having said all of this, I don't see the trade ever happening. The one wild card is that Luck might be demanding to get out given how Indy handled the injury situation.
  11. Regardless of how he turns out, 66 MPH is remarkable. It's basically Aroldis Chapman-level.
  12. Yeah, but Craig wasn't the driving force in those postseasons. Montana was, with help from Ronnie Lott, Dwight Clark, and of course Jerry Rice. I actually don't have an opinion one way or the other about Craig, to be honest. But there are more productive players than him at the same position who aren't in (Ricky Watters and Edgerrin James). In 6 games playoff games in 1981 and 1984, Clark had 36 catches for 541 yards. That's a lot!! EDIT: In his 3 SB seasons, Craig had 1,040 yards from scrimmage in 9 games along with 8 TDs. That's obviously pretty damn good.
  13. I hate to sound like a broken record, but ... postseason. It matters. They're the biggest and most meaningful games, and they're on the biggest stage. They determine champions, which is what the NFL is all about. Outside of Tom Brady and Joe Montana, there is no better postseason performer in league history than Terrell Davis.
  14. See Yolo's post above.
  15. Von Miller is already talking it up. Good trade for both sides.
  16. A plurality, not a majority.
  17. The big one for me is Edgerrin James. He's not in, and he's only RB with over 12,000 yards who isn't. He also has 15,610 total yards - 2500 more than Craig and 700 more than Ricky Watters. He played a lot in the postseason too. James had 91 total TDs, as did Watters. Craig had 73. James also led the league in rushing twice.
  18. Gore will get in. I'm assuming he's going to play next year (he was good this season), and he will quickly pass Curtis Martin for #4 on the all-time rushing list. He's 75 yards behind Martin and 1,243 behind Barry Sanders.
  19. full story above! It's pretty hilarious at the end. The Vikings offense left the field before the game was over!
  20. For those who don't remember Chuck Foreman, enjoy!!!!!! Buffalo fans: they haven't really changed. At least it wasn't a dildo. https://www.twincities.com/2014/10/15/vikings-chuck-foreman-still-struck-by-75-snowball-fiasco/
  21. (Incidentally, Marshawn had 101 yards in the final game of the season this year (blowout loss), which got him to 10,000 yards - 10,003 in all. I think he gets in eventually.)
  22. Ricky Watters' numbers are significantly more impressive than Craig's. I don't really have a dog in this fight, but if you're a RB, I think voters feel you need to get to 10,000 yards or have either some out-of-this-world numbers in the postseason like Terrell Davis or a career cut short by injury after a meteoric few years (Gale Sayers). For regular good players, it's kinda like sluggers and 500 homers (Fred McGriff has 493 and isn't in). I'm not saying that's right, but it is what it is.
