  1. See previois comments by me about the field surface today — players were falling down all game. Regardless. It was short by 6-7 yards and required a circus catch because it demanded a reverse in direction. I remember you blaming watkins for taylor’s int v NE despite that he leaped as high as he could and his fingertips grazed the ball.
  2. Ah, my favorite blame-the-receiver line: “it hit him in the hands.” It was a bad throw (after a great scramble and great decision) that would have been a bona fide circus catch if caught. And are fans here completely blind to the fact that players on both sides were slipping and sliding all day on that surface??
  3. You are wedded to your interpretation. I liked allen’s play for the most part on that play (as I explicitly stated earlier). But it was a crap throw. It is what it is.
  4. Anyone just watch TN’s johnny smith’s “drop” of an easier catch possibility (but still a very difficult catch) in the end zone? Anyone see sterling shepherd’s “drop” in OT today??
  5. Lol. The ball most decidedly did not get there. It freaking did not even reach the goal line. You are about to enter my pet peeve of always-blame-the-receiver fans!
  6. Huh? That was a perfect throw in the only place the receiver could make a catch. It was precisely on target.
  7. (Nothing peeves me more than fans bringing out the pitchforks for receivers who don’t mke citcus catches on bad throws.)
  8. You are nuts. It’s not easy for any receiver to change direction and scramble back for a bad underthrow (and on a bad playing surface that saw tons of guys slipping around all day). Why can’t we all focus on the main reason it wasn’t caught — the fact that it was 6-7 yds from where it was supposed to be?? Sheesh.
  9. It was a REALLY inaccurate throw that is almost never caught (see Sterling Shepherd in ot on a better throw today??). That said, i loved what allen did on that play. Great scramble, great feet, and great decision. Just a bad throw that was more or less uncatchable. But there was a lot liked on the play.
  10. That was a really inaccurate throw that is very rarely caught. It was literally 7 yards short given that clay was around 5-6 yds in the end zone.
  11. I loved allen’s game today in many ways, but that was a straight up highly errant throw. It didn’t even make the goal line. No receiver should be expected to catch that with any regularity. It would have been a circus catch on a very inaccurate throw.
  12. No. No. No. bad throw and othing else.
  13. The excuse factory is closed. It was a bad throw. The excuse factory is closed. It was a bad throw.
  14. Just ... no. It was a bad, bad throw. No excuses.
  15. That is in no way shape or form zay jones’ fault. Come on announcers. Terrible throw.
  16. Agree 100 percent about the second half coaching.
  17. Just terrible, cowardly playclling by UB after they got the 29-10 lead. Pathetic.
  18. The offensive playcalling by UB since they took the 29-10 lead is exactly why teams with leads lose. Playong not to lose.
  19. Watkins foot issues seem to be chronic. I won't be surprised at all if he ends up needing surgery on this other foot and basically missing the rest of this season. He's out again this week.
  20. He has had some bad games, John. Like I said, the upside potential is great, but the proof will be in the pudding. I am hopeful and I like him. The knock on him, though, was always instinct, and bad instincts have ruined many a talented LB's career.
  21. LVE's season this year is better than any Hawk ever had. Hawk was decent in his rookie campaign, but even in his best seasons was really never better than a mild disappointment. He's not good this year. He's OK - at best. He has a high ceiling, but so did Aaron Curry.
  22. Fox was always a defensive minded coach; he didn't run the offense. BB made a concerted, years-long effort to understand the offensive side of the ball and be able to game plan the offense in an innovative way. He is as good an offensive coach as he is a defensive coach. I also think that he's so smart that he got bored with simply focusing on defense and gave himself a new challenge. I would never say that about Fox.
  23. Belichick has a defensive background, but unlike any other DC-turned HC, he remade himself by focusing on offense. He's not a defensive minded coach anymore and hasn't been for at least 15 years. That should be factored in. It's not black and white.
  24. When you look up the word "douche" in the Oxford Pictionary (a real thing), this is image that comes up.
  25. Does anyone know how many penalties were called in the game, including offsetting penalties? Did it hit 30+? EDIT: Whoops -- I now see that it was exactly 30. That is RIDICULOUS. On the Bills first TD drive, Coleman's crew gifted the Bills another 10+ yards because they didn't call Benjamin down even though his knee clearly and obviously touched the ground. People criticized the Jags for not challenging, but I think they would have lost the challenge because there was a bobble by Benjamin during the process and there was some room for doubt. If he had been called down initially, though, the Bills would have lost the challenge too. Regardless, Benjamin should have been called down.
