  1. He was throwing it with WAY too much velocity early on. It’s extremely difficult for any receiver to catch those throws when it’s that cold outside. The one through Diggs’s hands in the EZ was blistering to the point of being uncatchable.
  2. Agree with all of this. Another thing: Terry Pegula’s favorite team, the Buffalo Sabres, automatically become utterly unviable in Buffalo if he remains the owner of them.
  3. The game was out of hand at that point. Totally different situation than the AZ game last year.
  4. From a Pats fan friend of mine who pasted this quote (don't know where it's from): "Might not be a popular take right now but pressuring Josh Allen yesterday wasn't the issue for the #Patriots defense. Pats had a pressure rate of 40.8%. KVN had seven QB pressures, Barmore six. Allen was just elite under pressure. Always found an outlet." As for the Williams penalty, he did the exact same thing on the TD pass to Gabe Davis in the first Pats/Bills game but wasn't called for it. He should have been, though. Watch #75 here:
  5. Strong, good black coffee from the time I wake up until around noon. Then, soda stream-produced seltzer until around 6. After that, French/Spanish/Italian red (french rose in the summer sometimes) or a good hazy IPA. Next day: rinse and repeat.
  6. The Falcons and Jets are respectively 31st and 32nd in defensive DVOA. I expect dominating wins.
  7. I don’t disagree with this, but overall I thought he played well in the Pats game, particularly vs the pass. He was an intimidator out there and got to runners quickly and violently to make the tackle.
  8. The only player who seems to be a regular starter is Tyeler Davison: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/atl/2021.htm Davison has started a lot of games for NO and ATL over the last 6 seasons: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DaviTy01.htm. No idea how good he is, however.
  9. Yes, they are a bad team. I think it's not only luck, though; they do have a borderline HOF QB, and that makes a difference in close games. For instance, I'll take Ryan over, say, Tua, Goff, or Daniel Jones in a close game. Note that the Roethlisberger leads the league in comeback victories this year with 6.
  10. I think the surgery technique on achilles tears has gotten a lot better in the last decade. It used to be a career ruiner, but now guys seem to get back in 6-7 months or so and to be more or less fine. Takeo Spikes was never the same after his tear, but that's not the case with most players these days. Well, she ain't wrong.
  11. It's a board for knowledgeable football fans.
  12. I am not here to defend QBR, but it does factor in good passes that were dropped, smart throwaways, sack avoidance, etc. Without knowing what happened in the Jets game, it’s hard for me say how Wilson actually performed.
  13. Small nit to pick: the Sanders drop led to the Pats starting at the 1 yard line, which led to the Bills getting the ball at the Pats 40 yard line after the punt return. They scored a TD on that drive. It's impossible to say they would have scored on that drive if they had started it at their own 25 yard line.
  14. Allen is a great player! But at the end of the day the Bills are 9-6 and the Packers are 12-3 (and with a worse defense than the Bills), and Rodgers' numbers are once again incredible.
  15. Who deserves it more than him?
  16. I don't care about his personality. He has fewer comebacks because he plays so well early in games that he never needs to come back. Anyway, Rodgers leads in all of the most important categories: passer rating, adjusted yards per attempt, adjusted net yards per attempt, QB rating, TD percentage (as total proportion of his passes), the lowest INT percentage ... you get the picture. And he has the highest winning percentage (12-2) if that's something one wants to factor in. As for comebacks, Roethlisberger leads the league with 6. But that's because he plays from behind a lot due to a lot of shaky early game performances. One other thing about Rodgers: in the past four seasons, he has 132 TD passes and 15 picks. That is ridiculous.
  17. And he absolutely deserves it. Allen is still having a very good season though.
  18. Allen and the Bills will also be playing 5th lousy weather game out of the last 6. Yesterday's weather in NE wasn't horrible but it wasn't good. You gotta think they're acclimated to it at at this point, and certainly more than the Falcons.
  19. Jackson’s first “drop” was basically uncatchable — a laser that DBs always drop when playing the Bills because they don’t have good enough hands to be receivers. I can’t tell you how many “drops” like that I’ve seen on Allen passes. He simply throws it a higher velocity than any other qb in the league, and DB drops on those types of mistake throws are almost always the result. You have to factor that in.
  20. Could you imagine Allen on the Pats?? Shudder … (seriously)
  21. He’s not perfect, but he is a better than average OC and our QB God loves him. Something to factor in!
  22. This needs its own thread, I believe. @PonyBoy posted thsi originally. So great:
  23. As an Outsiders fan, I’ll see what I can do!
