  1. You keep putting your opinion into my mouth. Carry on Captain Geritol.
  2. If you don't want to work with a black person because you hate n**ers, you'd be a douche. You have the right to work with who you want. And if you choose not to work with someone on grounds that I find offensive, I will judge you. They are not being douchy to exercise their choice; they are being douchy because they have a rationale I disagree with. See my note above. Phelps and his ilk exercise their douchy rationale in ways that are mostly legal. The anti-gay-marriage bakers exercise their douchy rationale as well. I judge both of their rationale as douchy. On a scale, one is clearly worse.
  3. I judge douchy behavior but I defend their right to be douchy. Wesboro Baptists?
  4. I heard about this through Rob Wolff's podcast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiU The interesting thing for me was the difference between age groups. Older men who get hooked on the porn dopamine recover faster than younger people, because younger people get "wired" in their developmental years to link the dopanine rush in porn to their sex lives, where older people (30+) grew up pre-widespread-porn access. Thus it's more difficult for younger men (mostly) to rewire themselves to react more naturally to real world sex. A fascinating take on how we are not biologically wired for porn and how porn can really screw you up.
  5. Let's face it. The baker is an ignorant douche. The lesbian couple are total d-bags for forcing the issue instead of just finding another baker. (It's Oregon for god's sake--the local Safeway bakery case sells cakes decorated as strap-ons.) And the government extension to the depths of baking a single cake is a travesty. Lose-lose-lose.
  6. Holden is mentally ill. You probably missed that. I love Steinbeck but Grapes of Wrath is an overbearing heavy-handed lecture. The political counterpoint to Atlas Shrugged but its mirror image when it comes to letting the message get in the way of what might have been a good story.
  7. Flag on the play. Fitz was a leader of men. He plays and played while here with absolute and total guts. He threw the ball hard and ran a smart offense. He had no touch and could not throw downfield, but absolute garbage he was not. He would have died to have Manuel's weapons. He just wasn't the future of the Bills. In the land of Lillipution QBs since Kelly, he's second only to Bledsoe. A huge incredibly fast lineman who was moving in the direction of the end zone when he caught the ball? Of all the things to criticize, this is what you chose to pick?
  8. Begin the day with a friendly voice
  9. He gets a lifetime pass. "Williams has had it with these goddamn preseason practices with the Patriots. “They are cheaters,” he said. “They are. So to me it’s not benefiting us because they’ve already proven who they are [from Spygate], that’s their history. And I don’t like them, not only because of that, but because I just don’t like them. I played them three of four times in a row [in the playoffs].” And: “I give them all the credit in the world, but one fact remains: They haven’t won a Super Bowl since they got caught."
  10. What I posted was a variation on a meme around Stern that exists on this board. Nothing more. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/168464-trump-on-howard-stern-this-morning-discussing-the-bills/#entry3158091
  11. So are you saying that you haven't heard Howard Stern in years but love to comment about him on message boards?
  12. One thing to keep in mind: SD beat the Seahawks last week handily, and there's no one who things the Bills are in the same class as the Seahawks. Hopefully they can regroup. And of course, EJ is a young QB who we as fans will evaluate closely every week. Yesterday he was terrible but he was hardly alone. There was a sack (maybe the play before the safety?) where 3 Chargers tackled EJ and all 3 of EJ's lineman were standing there to help EJ up. Nice job line.
  13. EJ was terrible. Worst play of the day was 4th quarter, Jackson gets the Bills to a 3rd and 1 situation and has to leave slightly shook up. So they bring in Spiller... AND PUT EJ IN THE SHOTGUN. Then hand the ball to Spiller with zero momentum going forward and 4 yards behind the line. The play call was so stunningly awful that I wonder what kind of offensive coaching EJ gets. The right call was at least to hand off to a RB moving forward. Of course, EJ tucked it in to Spiller and they lost 4 yards. Then EJ threw the 4th and 4 to no one in particular.
  14. Maybe he's not solely to blame but he played like dogcrap today. If you think otherwise, you're high. And if you look through this thread, you'll see I was applauding EJ before today. But today, he was flat out wretched.
  15. Rice knocked out his girlfriend. AP admitted to the beating of a 4 year old. This isn't Duke lacrosse.
  16. First, he admitted doing it. Second, there's no due process in a private organization. Your boss can fire you tomorrow without a jury trial. The NFL is a privilege and it has a conduct code. Players are held to a standard (or should be Ray Lewis) and if they violate it, there are consequences.
  17. Seems like from what I find, the lowest a minority partner can own is in a range (why? maybe based on the team value) of 50-100 million, debt free. You're right RE Majority owenership. Regardless, why would Pegula give Kelly ownership? Pegula can (and no doubt will) hire Kelly as ambassador or whatever he does now.
  18. No--the pass may not have been perfect, but it was excellent. Decent implies average and most passes of that length into that tight coverage would have been a lot worse than EJ's.
  19. Do you realize that your fantasy football team has no offensive line? Among the things I don't care about are EJ's stats last game. He was in game management mode (no turnovers, no chances) for the entire 4th quarter and barely saw the ball in the 3rd because the fish had 2 drives and between was the Spiller runback. His stats mean nothing from that game--he played the game to win and won. I want you to keep arguing about fantasy football and how it's relevant to support your point. Do you know that the Bills D/ST went undrafted in most leagues? They must suck too. And Sammy Watkins? Undrafted. Sucks. Fred Jackson was drafted but benched in 80% of leagues. Sucks. In about half of leagues, Anotnio Gates went undrafted. 3 TDs last weekend of pure suckitude. Need more? I do have more.
  20. Says the guy who evaluates EJ based on his Fantasy Football rankings.
  21. NFL teams have a minimum ownership requirement (minority owners need to own something like 25% of the team). It's the rule that basically forbids another Green Bay ownership scenario. That's why JBJ could not let the Rogers bid get too high. Given that, Jim ain't gonna be an owner.
  22. They barely called on EJ to do anything in the second half because they didn't need to, and when they did, they scored a touchdown. Oh, and he drove them into FG range twice more to ice the game. The first time Carpenter missed. The second time he didn't. Yes, they will work on red zone but jesus, they had one of the biggest wins today and Manuel was an excellent game manager. Not for a second was I concerned about his play.
  23. RE: EJ. Think of how efficient he was. He was 62% completion, had 3 nice throwaways, and barely saw the field in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th, he didn't have to throw. It was about a perfect game from a game management perspective from him. Time and again in the first half, he converted big third downs.
  24. To his credit, he deleted that nonsense after posting it. EJ barely threw in the 4th quarter and the Bills offense wasn't in the second half until there were 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. 202 yards in that particular game was really good.
  25. 65% so dar this season is not high enough? Get a grip. He was 61% today and he threw the ball away 3 times on purpose.
