What did De Blasio do that is so bad? I just googled 6 stories about the cops turning their backs and none are specific as to what he did. The best I got was this, which doesn't seem to be a giant deal. There must be something more to this but the news seems to assume everyone knows what set off the back-turning. “It’s different for a white child. That’s just the reality in this country,” de Blasio said. “And with Dante, very early on with my son, we said, ‘Look, if a police officer stops you, do everything he tells you to do, don’t move suddenly, don’t reach for your cellphone,’ because we knew, sadly, there’s a greater chance it might be misinterpreted if it was a young man of color.”

Because you knew Beckham would have the season he had? Before the draft? I'd rather the Bills picked Tom Brady and Terell Davis.

Orton with no line and no running game has almost 3000 yards passing in 11 games...17 TDs and 10 INTs. 64% He's not a world beater but to lay the blame for the offiense on him is not fair. They had zero running game and no line at all. Oh...and no coordinator. Marrone is an offensive guy. How's that side of the team doing?

Trying to not distract the management from potentially making the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. I'm sure he was evaluating from afar but the worst thing he could have done for the last 2 months is have a consultant and himself sniffing into everyone's business. Now that the season's over, he can drag them into a room and evaluate them. Winter is coming.

Give it time. Just because he doesn't clean house on Monday doesn't mean he won't clean house. Dan Snyder would fire first aim later. Pegula, I hope, is more deliberate. He's owned the team for 8 weeks. I expect changes but they may not happen in a single off season. You don't just wipe out an entire billion dollar company's management team on Day 1.

Right. I also did not like the trade. Still not thrilled about it. But I do think they got someone special in Watkins. At QB, I have no long term answer. I can hope EJ shows up next year looking like the real deal but I see a guy with great character who showed little reason to be excited. Orton is kind of hated around here but I think he did pretty well with almost no line help, run game, or coordinator. He's not the long term answer but I don't hate him. Unless there's a huge upgrade to get at QB, I'm fine with Orton (not a popular opinion) and hope they put the off-season energy into the OL. Behind a good OL, they have a running game. With a running game, Orton will look good...not great but good. If this team's offense is achieves good, they are in the playoffs.

The best rookie WR in Bills history is "a loss" according to you? Potential offensive rookie of the year? Please draft more losses in the future. I have no complaints on Watkins. No offensive line. No running game. No QB. Worst offensive coordinator in football (or bottom 3) and still had a stellar season. If you don't like what you saw from Watkins, you need a new TV. Graybeard: "Who knew Thad would wash out in preseason?" Everyone. The guy was all guts and little else last year. He had no chance to ever make the Bills better except being a fiesty guy at 3rd QB. Lewis showed guts last year, nothing more. He was Fitz minus the arm and brains.

Warren could beat Clinton. Warren will excite voters--she's the exact opposite of Clinton in a new school vs old school way. In that way, she's got the newness that made Obama the candidate a winner in 2008. And you can hate her politics (like I do), but she has a populist message that's easy to understand and fits into sound bytes. She can be a real force. I am sure Hillary does not want her to run.

That should be in the thread talking about Kim Kardashian's thoughts on Ferguson. Better yet, find a video of an ignorant non-celeb Dem/Rep making a stupid statement about politics and bash them. Always a good time.

So let me get this straight. A rich guy moves into a neighborhood (whether he lives in that neighborhood or not) and then in some other buoilding the rent goes up (assuming that's what happened--seem to be quite a few subject matter experts here). The renters protest the rent going up and the rich guy feels bad and joins the protest...and the rich guy is the douche? I'm not sure anyone here is the douche except the reporter for pinning the "problem" of rising rents on rich people. I guess it's not class warfare when you attack rich liberals (no idea if Brand is a liberal) for their money.

So what if he's rich and joining in some cause he believes in about raising rents. That cause may be valid or not but why is his wealth an issue? I am white. If I'm at a racism protest, does a reporter who asks if I'm white get the board BJ that this reporter is getting from so many posters? Just surprised so many people find this class warfare so appealing.

I'm not up on the New Era housing rent issue but why is it "douchey" for Brand to be rich and choose to support some cause that helps people less well off than him? Isn't the guy asking questions the one promoting some kind of socio-economic douchebaggery? He's asking Brand if he's part of the problem for being rich, which seems pretty much to be an uberliberal BS question. Brand is entitled to spend his money as he sees fit and not support the causes he wants to.

I don't care about Gilmore. He's "fine." There's no need to want him gone--he just didn't live up to the hype that he'd be a true shutdown corner. The Bills problems are on the other side of the ball. I wonder what the rushing yards average is from the shotgun. It must suck. The Bills appear awful from the gun. I noticed it last year especially with EJ. This year it's the same thing. The Bills were in shotgun seemingly 90% of the game. In the 4th quarter was the only time they weren't. Among other things, shotgun takes away all flexibility and creativity in the running game. Play action is virtually nonexistent as are any kind of pitch or roll out (not that Orton is a rollout QB). But it limits the offense terribly. This is one of my biggest Hacket peeves. Put the QB under center. Also, I am damn glad Manziel didn't come in earlier. The energy he brought to the Browns was real. He had the bad play on the fumble-TD-reversed but I did not like the way he was playing at all. Good luck to the teams that might face him in the coming weeks.
