  1. Josh’s confidence is him. I love that he’s unshakeable. But it gets him in trouble too. I’ll forgive Josh some of his actual turnovers but he had two others he got lucky on so ball control remains an issue. Maybe be next week Daboll will give Josh some help with more running plays early!
  2. And who, pray tell, was behind this nefarious attack? This group that hired teams of people to plant explosives strategically throughout a building, all of whom have kept utter silence?
  3. I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.
  4. A bummer. It is so hard to do. Israel crashed one in April.
  5. DD is claiming it in the name of the earth. This is the best moment though.
  6. Not Duck Dodgers’s line. It’s Buzz Lightyear’s.
  7. You need something? This poster is probably PPP’s Epstein wannabe.
  8. For now. Lab meat and plant "meat" will be just as good soon and not require killing animals. I am a meat-eater but that will be a good day.
  9. How is the Impossible Burger not vegan? It's just GMO plants that produce hemoglobin. I have not tried the impossible burger but we regularly have the Beyond Burger because it's available from Whole Foods. Uncooked, it smells like fish, but once cooked, it's damn good. With the usual burger toppings, it's hard to distinguish. Without toppings, it's obvious it's not meat. I love that the meat industry is lobbying to get these substitutes to drop "burger." Never bothered them until they started actually tasting good, and no, none of the ones before now were anything like a burger. Sodium is the big difference in nutrition values. I will prefer a meat burger for now but I'm all for killing less animals and hope these keep getting better taste and health-wise.
  10. I thought he's attending the OTAs. He will be signed by the time camp starts.
  11. We are the poster boys for nemesis (idiots posting on the Internet) to friend transformation. Cheers to us and I'm happy that she did great.
  12. I was there with my friend who I'd painted houses with over the summer. He was an Oilers fan. At half-time, he said, "Don't worry, the Oilers can blow anything." When Reich through the pick-6, he said it again. "Seriously, this team is the hugest bunch of chokers." Poor guy had to then sit through the rest.
  13. Funny, I hated Jackie and found the show back then barely listenable. All the clapping and ranting about being number one in markets. What a borefest. It had its moments but it was juvenile. Artie was excellent. I miss him and wish they played more "Best of" with him on it. But clearly the edict is not to do that. I don't think that's anything other than Howard's guilt at not helping him out more than he could have. He's aluded to carrying a lot of guilt for not being a better friend to the addict he worked with every day. It took me a while to enjoy the show again after Artie left. But I do like it still. It's got fewer belly laughs but it's still the funniest show out there and guys like Brent, Memet, Steve, Shuli add a good element of hijinks that the old folks (Howard, Fred, Robin. etc) can have fun with. And the interviews are 1000x better now. The book promo is painful but it will end soon.
  14. Rest In Peace Sue. I met her at the first couple of tailgates. I drove up from Philly and my mom (once a poster too) joined the tailgate as well. Maybe even my brother. I think of Sue a lot lately, and though there was an element of play in that homework thread, it grew mean and shortly thereafter she left in anger. I would like to go back to that time with her and so many people and be kinder. She and Lori and others have left me with that lesson and for that she (and they) have my thanks. I can never know what she and others were going through on any day. I regret the moments when I forget that but I aspire to be better. Truly rest, friend.
  15. It was. It was a gift to the fans that usually comes in a final episode but can’t in this story. Enjoy your favorite characters in this episode, because a lot of them are about to die. If the North and its allies lose this battle, it’s “all” over for Westeros. I enjoyed it it but I get your annoyance.
  16. Drafting DBs keeps Bill young.
  17. There's a longer thread for this topic. I just noticed it. Mods may want to merge.
  18. I hit play and heard the voice of Dwight Drane.
  19. Best wishes to you Bill: Glad to have evolved with you on this board (though I was a few years behind you in my growth!)--sorry to just notice this. It's Sunday: STAY AWAY FROM THE TV!
  20. Boehner understands the value of compromise. So does Biden. Obama and the Cruz acolytes don't get that. They are like 5 year old children who want their brother's toy.
  21. Sorry Dorkington: This is MY topic! In law school it was always fun to read the dissents in the equality cases and Scalia will not disappoint future generations in the same way that Kennedy's prose speaks to those same future generations in over the top Obama-esque prose. I thought Roberts would come out on the side of history but oh well. Enjoy Scalia's dissent. He's the best writer on a court of great writers. Amusing and fun read. http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/14pdf/14-556_3204.pdf America eff yeah.
  22. Stop it. There is no Tuel. The myth of Tuel is like the myth of Marcus Easley.
  23. There is a New Topic button around here somewhere. Or you can search in PPP and find 8-50 threads on molesting priests. Here we're talking about Penn State's coverup.
  24. It wasn't countless others. You counted them. And what was his action after he told the ones you counted? Well, he did what was important and PSU: Turned a blind eye and kept on winning. This is less about Paterno and has always been a lot more about the culture that encouraged the cover-up. The culture of Penn State football that refused to accept a punishment (taking away wins) that paled in comparison to the crimes it bred, so it sued the NCAA to get wins restored. And the glee that has greeted the restored wins (because that's what matters) and the renewed effort to put up the statue of the man who more than anyone embodied the culture. This latest chapter shows that what happened could easily happen again and than the alum and school have not changed even a little. WE ARE SHAMELESS.
  25. Facebook feed is full of PSU people posting 409 and "justice" and #1. Disgusting.
