  1. Congress's inability to legislate does not equate to re-writing the Constitution. Where are my originalist/textualists? There's nothing in Article 2 about the Executive being allowed to legislate when Congress sucks. Because it's a series of presidents that have done this, not one individual...so I was referring to the office and thus chose the word "which."
  2. Except...I've been saying the impeachment is dumb from the beginning. Try not be one of the PPP lemmings. Congress should do its job and take back its rightful power from the executive, which (not who) has taken over legislation in the US. I'm a lot less concerned with Congress stepping on the President's toes than the opposite. And no, it doesn't matter who is sitting where.
  3. Perfectly placed by you in the Deep state thread. Because you never know, right?
  4. Maybe criticizing the founding fathers is important to the purpose of undeifying them. The Constitution is great, but also imperfect. Who would be afraid of exploring those ideas in school?
  5. This I agree with. That's more than short term pain. It's short term stupidity. Tom's is a more practical approach but the Court would still be doing some cute backbends to make it only apply going forward. Good luck with those mental gymnastics.
  6. Sounds like I hit the strawman where it hurt. He's the one advocating for teaching the one True History, not me.
  7. There is no "true history" of the USA. The founding fathers were people. Great, and imperfect. The more you adhere to a top down True History, the more you sound like the totalitarian countries you claim to dislike.
  8. I've been mocked for making this point time and again. Good luck.
  9. Yeah. As a practical matter, a stroke of SCOTUS pens that wipe out all administrative law would be a nightmare. BREXIT * 1000000000000000000000
  10. that lack diversity. including diversity. Not just talking about skin color here with respect to diversity. Very few countries have what we have. (India laughs at our "diversity.")
  11. We worship at the altar of your humility. Until 2019, there have never been music stars who appropriated devil symbols. END OF TIMES!
  12. The above edit is what you mean. I would like teachers to teach my child how to think, not what to think. I like Ayn Rand too, but there's a practical side to living in a community.
  13. If you don't like the state of children's education, the teachers are not blameless, but look to the parents first. If you don't get that, you don't get personal responsibility and you don't get parenting. I'm invested in my child's education. Not all of it has been perfect, and when it's failed, I get involved. Blaming the "system" is a weakass copout. Punto final. Be a whiner or be a fixer.
  14. Education starts at home. Always. When I hear anti-American sentiment or apologetic teaching for being the best country on earth, I invoke dialog with my kid so she can hear another side. Blaming teachers will always be secondary.
  15. You want the PPP cookie? OK... Censure would be almost dumber than impeachment. Almost, but not quite.
  16. Winner winner vegan chik'n dinner. Wherever the middle is, it's missed. Being a politician used to be the job of working with the people you disagree with to try to pull the community (local, state, country) forward. Now it's just about grandstanding for re-Tweets. Who doesn't love a "sick burn" Tweet? Look no further than the sub-culture of re-Tweets on TBD and PPP. No one would have re-Tweeted about the compromise to get the 1964 Civil Rights Act passed. The left and right would meme and villify the compromise and we'd be stuck in neutral like we've been for most of 11 years now.
  17. I don't remember you at all from a few years ago but thanks for being a fan.
  18. Just so I have this straight, making fun of the retweeting nature of PPP is defending pedophiles. Mmm-kay. U no reed gud. It must hurt to be as moran-ic as you. Good catch. I called him out. How about you?
  19. Link? I'll be waiting. I called out the board pedophile. Did you? But keep posting twitter links you brave soul. Because nothing is more courageous than being against pedophiles!
  20. I called our resident pedophile when most here, including your many board heroes, treated his presence as acceptable. Pasting Tweets is brave though, I'll give you that.
  21. Because there's not a website where you can see Tweets, I come here to see them. Thanks DR.
  22. Oh, OK, so now I shouldn't look to the OIG report as a big thing, because the next thing is the big thing. Phew. Good to know. Let me know what the next big thing is after that? And I assume it's happening on the 12th?
