Can Drew line up in punt formation? Maybe then the rush wouldn't get to him so fast.

kerrys malaise vs GWB's Optimism
John Adams replied to Rich in Ohio's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeah. Stop telling me about his "plans." He's had four years of Republican support in the Congress and Court. Tell me what he DID to shrink the size of government (gov't payrolls up 800,000 during his tenure). Tell me what he DID to curb the intrusion of government in my life. Tell me what he DID. i.e., the list of people he fired, when he found out he was wrong about WMDs. Staying on that topic for a minute, I know intelligence is a guessing game, but you know what, when we lose 1000 American lives and spend 200 billion and counting on a war whose underlying justification cannot be found, don't you think a few heads should roll? Tell me what he DID to reduce the deficit- even ignoring that he increased homeland security. And on and on. I don't need to hear Bush's plans. I know what he's about. Big government. Gut feelings. Some brand of idiotic loyalty where no one is accountable for their mistakes. -
What is the average annual salary in your state?
John Adams replied to Mickey's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I totally agree. This thread could be a model so far. I especially like your cost of living argument. I'd bet the cost of living numbers would wipe out a lot of the underlying premise on this. But maybe not. I'd just be curious. -
Can Anybody See Why The World Hates the US?
John Adams replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Join me in a "How 'bout 'dem Cowboys" cheer will ya? USA, Yankees, Cowboys, and Lakers. good analogy. -
I liked his 4 and 3, 43 yard "dink" pass last week. Montana was accused of being a dink passer too.

It Comes Down To Three States
John Adams replied to ubhockey's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm in PA, and would be surprised to see it shift to Bush. The center of the state is clearly Bush, but the huge poulation centers are solidly Kerry. Gore won PA last time because the Left rallied the cities hard. I can tell you that the same thing is happening this time in Philly. I can't walk down the street at lunch without people asking me "Do you want to help get George Bush out of office?" If you say yes, they have registration forms and candidate info for Kerry. It's the most aggressive voting drive I've seen. There are literally people every two blocks throughout the city during morning, lunch, and evening rush hours. I'm -
Can you believe that anti-American Jon Stewart?
John Adams replied to Wham Rocks's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You reading this? A thread about a guy who does COMEDY news. My god man.... the next thing you guys will post is something about how Whoopi Goldberg made a joke about Bush's last name. Stay on target Red Leader. -

LOL... Bush supporters getting upset at Jon Stewart. Wow. Are things really this bad for you? -
WE WILL HAVE A FIRST ROUND PICK.
John Adams replied to The_Real's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way he's playing, the Bills will be lucky to get a third round pick. Teams don't trade their first round picks too often, especially for older running backs. -
The more I hear about Arnold
John Adams replied to John Adams's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's why I said I hop ehe "can" run for president. McCain and others have been working on a bill to get rid of the native-born prohibition. -
Whoah there hoss. The gun-toting confederate flag-waving pickup truck driving Republican Trailer Trash Association takes issue with your characterization of them as Democrats.
-
I kinda hope he can run for president in 2008. Arnold calls out Bush and Kerry He's DOBA on this.

I know you were quoting someone else, but your friend is wrong on the Canadian patents thing. Canada doesn't have to pay a whit of attention to US patents, but they do have their own patent system similar to ours, and you can bet any decent drug that is patented here is patented in Canada.

What is Bush then? A Grand Master? He hasn't seen a spending bill he couldn't pass fast enough. Why doesn't Bush debate the 1.6 million job loss figures that Kerry keeps spouting, when the actual job loss is somewhere around 800,000? Because under Bush, the federal daddyment created 800,000 new government jobs. Eight hundred freaking thousand new government jobs in four years. FDR would be jealous. Where's the TVA? And how about all the nanny-fication Bills Bush supports. He wants to be in consenting adult marriage ceremonies. He sicks his hound Ashcroft on our civil liberties. These socialists-in-conservative-clothes are pathetic.

Do You think Winner of debates matters?
John Adams replied to spidey's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sadly, yes. The debates matter. I think that's the only way to explain the strong swing in the polls over the last three weeks. For me, the debates (for lack of a better term), mean nothing. I would definitely be more interested in a real debate, where the people asked the non-screened questions and the candidates really got put on the spot. Even with that though, skill at debating does not necessarily correspond to success as a president. -
I thought you left. (Again.) Was this another retirement...or something more cryptic?

NFL trade deadline is October 19
John Adams replied to bluenews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No chance. TH is one of the dumbest backs in the NFL (according to his Wunderlich score...and if you don't believe in that, how many missed blocks and busted plays do you have to see to know he's not the brightest bulb?). He can't catch. And don't get me wrong, I like the guy! The Bills can't get rid of McGahee if TD wants to keep his job. TH might get a 4th rounder. Anyone who gave more would be stupid. -
We watched LOST, we're 2 stupid and didn't get it

Your sarcasm and actual critique interweave confuses me. If you don't like it, that's cool. I write in defense of the show, but with no malice. Your criticism of no build-up: Some very good stories throw you right into the plot with no character introduction. Memento comes to mind right off the top. This story starts with a plane craash. Here are the stranded people who don't know each other. You find out a bit about each of them through flashbacks, but mostly they are just people getting used to the fact that they just survived a craash. That's the introduction. I like that the plot just starts with a jolt, and not a slow buildup (families at home, families waving good-bye, scenes at the airport, scenes on the airplane... and THEN the craash). Different strokes I guess. Things that "take you out of the story": I'm not sure what things take you out of the story. Do you argue that airlines don't allow late-term women to fly? Not sure about your trim figure thing. The one woman was having serious denial about rescue and not eating... not worrying about her figure. People might hoard things in that situation. All seems believable to me. If you have trouble with the parts of the plotline related to polar bears, giant beasts, and people who have been stranded for 16 years, then it's not the show for you. It's the 2004 version of X-Files, not Everybody Loves Raymond. Stock characters: Stock characters? How can they be stock characters after 3 episodes? The pretty lead woman was on the plane in cuffs, and the marshall bringing her back to the US thinks she's a sociopathic killer. That's not stock. The Korean guy who is mysoginistic towards his wife is also very tender towards her. We've hardly met the dark-skinned smoker. They are stock in the sense that so far the ugly people are pretty much solely around for comic relief, and the attractive people are insanely attractive, but I write that off to TV. I'm hoping some of the Melrose Place looking people end up in a gigantic esophogus before long. -
OT: Stern moving to Sirius Satellite EXCLUSIVELY
John Adams replied to John Adams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also have Sirius. Hate him or love him, he brings a lot of juice to Sirius, and that he's the first big name to go exclusively to Satellite is an even bigger deal. I don't live near Jax, but I think their football coverage on the radio is the best in the country (besides NYC). I've listened to several Jax games (inicluding listening to their coverage of the Bills game). -
Howard Stern just announced that in 2006 (his contract with Viacom expires at the end of 2005), he will move his ENTIRE show to Sirius, and will no longer be on regular radio. He had to hold his announcement because he will get stock options in Sirius. The way the deal works is that he gets to program 3 entire Sirius channels, and have his own show on one of them.

So edwards thinks that 50% of Americans
John Adams replied to Rich in Ohio's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Actually, he's saying that about 25% of people in the US have lost their minds (the 25% who voted for your hero). I'd say it's closer to 50% because you have to count the 25% of Democrats too- they are also insane. Maybe the people staying home are sane? -
So who is the GM to turn this team around?

Despite how you feel about Kerry....
John Adams replied to Buftex's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There are only three candidates on the ballot in every state. Nader is not one of them. I'm probably voting for the third candidate. -
