  1. You been following things? He's generated almost no interest, mostly because although he's a tough runner, he's dumb as a box of rocks. I never saw so many plays over the last 3 years where Bledsoe would turn to hand the ball off and Henry would be running the other direction. Sure, it's only 4-5 times a season, but that's a lot. And forget about the run-blocking. I like TH, but if I was trading for him, I wouldn't give up much.
  2. Travis is GONE, and he isn't generating much interest in the trade market. At this point, I'd be happy to get an underacheiver that can be coached in return for him.
  3. Here's a summary of a Survivor season (I've seen them all sadly). Bunch of people on an island. Not one of these ninnies read or practiced how to make fire even though they knew for months they were going to be on Survivor. So for two days, they are all cold and wet and starving. 30% of the people work to build shelter. If they are lucky, one of these people is smart enough to build a good shelter. 30% of the people are sunning themselves on the beach. The rest of the people are playing the game and conniving to win. A few days later, the productive and actual survivor-types are all gone, and only the lazy and connivers are left. Everyone is hungry. Eventually, the show gives them matches. Some chick shows her boobs. There's a contest where you have to swim, blind-folded through an obstacle course and put together an underwater puzzle. Someone wins a night at a luxury hotel. The rest of the people resent that person for the one night. That person smuggles food from the hotel to the starving losers. Advance a few days. Only the connivers are left. Anyone productive is long gone. Whoever can lie the best will win.
  4. Really? I took a shot at Tom. But we know who holds the real power here. Well, besides SDS that is. And I know Scott would vote me off the island.
  5. Ken would no doubt rise above all the petty disputes. He would be our Jeff Probst.
  6. How about the "beating a dead horse" board? Along with my rants that Republicans are socialists, Bill's love of smoking, Darin's laments about lemmings, Tom's love of, well, Tom, Debbie's persistence in always being wrong, and a partidge in a pear tree. Throw in the warped flirtation that occasionally takes place on the football board with and by #89, and you've got a Survivor cast.
  7. Size of the account is one, but I payed for Yahoo before I got the gmail, so I had more Yahoo space. Mostly, it's shockingly fast by comparison. Yahoo! Mail is slow. Gmail does everything instantaneously. You want to reply. Click and you are in the Reply instantly. Also, unlike Yahoo, the google search feature returns good results. Finally, you view email conversations in a threaded view, which makes you wonder why anyone would use any other view for reading emails.
  8. It's funny. I thought milque was some remnant of British English. I incorrectly corrected in an attempt to simplify. My usage dictionary says "milktoast is a variant form, not recommended."
  9. I never meant to imply Bork was unqualified or should not have been confirmed. He was both qualified and he should have been confirmed. What's happening with blocking judicial appointees is making a weak, understaffed judiciary. It's terrible. I didn't love Bork, but he should have been appointed. What happened to Thomas during his confirmation (the Anita Hill crap) sticks with me as one of the most embarrassing moments in Congressional history. Congressional "vetting" of judicial nominees serves as a good check to presidential power, but the pettiness of Republicans and Democrats hurts the system. The only person who survives confirmation is a milktoast mamby pamby judge, which is not what we need.
  10. You think he teaches ID or evolution?
  11. FAST FAST FAST. That's why I like gmail.
  12. One thing hasn't changed: reading his threads are still a waste of time. It's just that now he's a punky little kid instead of an obnoxious repetitive borderline hatemonger. Wait: is that positive?
  13. I don't know the make of your DVR, but this is become a really hot issue in the TiVo community between Lost and West Wing, which run back to back on different networks. Lost ALWAYS runs over. If you have a TiVo, there are some workarounds posted in the Lost/West Wing threads that will work for any back to back shows. In short, you need to make your higher priority show record longer by a few minutes (can keep the season pass), and the lower priority show start a little later using a manual record.
  14. I'll take a pass on an a guy who believes that we should follow the original constructions of the framers, and does not see a right to privacy in the Constitution. Still, Bork would be better than the 3-4 people we're likely to get, i.e., the mediocrity that will be able to get through the US Congress approval process (see e.g., Clarence Thomas).
  15. My family would both appreciate another man around the house. He could haul wood, work on the car, and rennovate our kitchen, while I watch TV. "Smug." Again, I'm the kettle to your pot brother.
  16. Good post. I wish Bill's Richio-like post didn't suck me in, but it did.
  17. Pot, meet kettle. "Anti-war at any cost" "Anti-law-enforcement" "militant vegetarians" I'm sure no Democrat would contest those generalizations, or any of the others. Smooches to you too William. For clarification, I didn't offer you any help. Go find a bar to smoke in.
  18. I thought #10 was the Republican platform. Why did you post this? Do you think these are true? Do you think someone like Mickey could post an equally biased view of the Republicans? "1) Racist 2) Sexist 3) put the elderly in a box and forget about them 4) give money to the rich 5) no healthcare for kids 6) ignore education" etc. Is that somehow helpful?
  19. 60% of Iraqis voted. The other 40% are people who feel they are a threatened minority involved in a near civil war, or were afraid of being murdered. What's our excuse.
  20. Tell you what. I will name the sun and nine planets for you for a fee of 50$. I will record your name along with the Sun and/or planets with the US Copyright Office, and send you a certificate. Let me give you my paypal account.
  21. If you (or anyone has done this), allow me to be the first one to pee in your Cheerios. This service is a joke. Every known star has a designation such as HD 186791, or several names depending on how they are scientifically cataloged. A small handful have common names like Polaris. What these Star Registry people do, is take the scientific designation, and list your name next to it, in some book. They then copyright that. That "name listed in book form with the US Copyright Office" will sit in the Copyright office for until it expires, and not one person will ever look at it or care, besides you. No scientist will ever refer to it. If they find life on HD 78654, no one will call the life forms "stevestojan"ites. You see, what Star Registry is doing is just putting your name in a book next to a number. It could just as easily put names in a book next to bodies of water, flowers in a garden, or pimples on an elephant's rear. Their book looks like this: HD 456778... Nervous Guy HD 345566... Gavin in Va Beach Blah blah blah. It's not an official record of jack squat. I can open John Adam's Star Registry and publish a book that says: HD 456778[same number as NG's above]... SDS HD 345566... DC Tom Both my book and the other book are good for the same thing. Toilet paper. If you want to name a star after someone you love, take them outside, point to a star, and say, I call that star "[name.]" Don't pay these people to do the same thing.
  22. This is one of those rare times when comparing a poster to a Nazi is actually justified.
  23. If Kurt didn't have so many posts, I'd suspect he was HogBoy reborn.
  24. Give him credit for consistency.
  25. All the way back to my Clancy the Dog days. And posts by Azalin too- a former foil. Nice. I never thought to use archive to look up TBD- use it a lot for work though.
