  1. A list without Tears in Heaven (Clapton) or Fire and Rain (Taylor)? Those have to be two of the saddest songs of all time.
  2. So you say. My wife and I had 140K in student loans when we finished our respective grad schools. That was more than we paid for our first house. Did it suck, especially at first. Yes. Was all that debt and education worth it? Yes. I'll pay for all the education my daughter wants so she can have the advantages of education without the big debt. I'd rather her have a clean start than the PIA I had. It's just a natural part of wanting something better for your kids.
  3. How in the hell did a guy who barely completes 50% of his passes make it as an alternate QB for the Pro Bowl?!? This Vince Young media boner will dry up quickly when people start realizing that he's Akili Smith on a lucky streak.
  4. I'm going to go ahead and say Vince Young has had a few bad games back to back. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7752 His two sub 50 QB Rating games were pretty bad. His 30 QB rating that he followed up with two games in the 60s wasn't much better. His 8 game streak of not completing more than 52% of his passes wasn't a good streak. But if you want to think he's never had bad back to back games, that's cool.
  5. Sixer fan here too. Iverson has been here since I moved here so I feel connected to AI. He's one of the most exciting players I've ever seen play--definitely the most exciting every-night performer of the last decade. Denver will have a lot of fun with AI and Melo. Both their scoring averages wil go down but they will have an amazing up tempo attack. For the Sixers, they get a great PG in Miller, some expiring contract in Smith. Hoefully Webber retires in the next two years. This year they should get a top 3 pick (Come to Philly Odom!) and have room for some good FAs (like to see them get Walton and maybe Grant Hill). Assuming they get Odom, that makes the starting 5: Miller, Hill, Korver, Walton and Odom. Iggy comes off the bench with Webber. When Webber leaves, they have room for another top FA. The Sixers could be a playoff team in 2 years.
  6. Knowing the rules and tweaking them (cummings) is different than not knowing them (Fezmid).
  7. For you, computer science was the better choice.
  8. Same rules apply. Kicking team would get the ball. The kicking team cannot "down" a kickoff. They get possession of any ball they recover past the 10 yard mark.
  9. I'm just saying: everyone but StuckinCincy and me is stupid. High IQ=Vegetarian
  10. From my experience, I take a lot of long train rides and have seen lots of drunken !@#$s on trains. Stumbling, loud, puking, etc...if there's a lounge car, it's almost a guarantee of serious public intoxication. Not sure why that is, but it's something I've noticed. I now associate the long (3+ hour) train ride with degenerate drunks.
  11. You know so much about me, Dr. Phil. Please. Keep it coming. Continue this enlightened discourse. As to the "issue," what more needs to be said? Bovine breeding contributes to greenhouse gases, deforestation, pollution etc. What other grand wisdom would you care to share with the class? I'm sure there's a spark of insight somewhere in there. Let it shine brother.
  12. Yeah, spitting in my mirror will show me. Good one. What else ya got?
  13. Speaking of smug and smarmy, here's a mirror. Take a look. I have nothing to debate here. I am a vegetarian.
  14. I commend StuckinCincy too--in the long run, a vegetarian food economy makes a lot of sense. Less germs, waste, pollution, deforestation, and more sustainable food production. And here I'd always assumed StuckinCincy was a mental midget.
  15. I was hoping for a .500 season this year with signs of improvement, a good showing from the rookies, an end to QB controversy, and some stability from the coaches. Looks like I can put checks in all categories. Hopefully the Bills can use this off-season to address the guard play, TEs, and D-line and figure out what to do with McGahee and Clements. Next year I'll be expecting the last game of the season to mean something.
  16. Such a great post that it deserved two reads.
  17. China has a big advantage on things like this. Central planning can mandate and drive ideas that capitalistic systems are slower to adopt. China can, for instance, displace a few hundred thousand people to divert a river because it makes sense for a big city. So I'm not sure the Chinese or that guy are smarter than us--their government has just made solar a priority and personal freedom less of one.
  18. The radio announcers said JP called the timeout. Blame Jauron for the challenge and JP for the ill-timed timeout.
  19. Those guys are a dime a dozen.
  20. Radio guys said JP called the timeout. Blame JP--not the coaches for the TO. Blame Jauron for the unsuccessful challenge.
  21. The radio guys said that JP called the timeout--not the coaches. When JP called the TO, the refs had to grant it. On the challenge, I guess Jauron thought they would win the challenge.
  22. Mike- how ya doin buddy?
  23. Waaah. I'm the poor oppressed white male. Waah.
  24. Leave me out of this moron.
  25. Good. Honor this system then: he was found liable for Golman's death. On top of that, he was found liable for battery of a woman. Are those good enough pieces of objective evidence or not? I agree, but removing his name does not make him guilty of a crime. It just shows that he's not worthy of being honored as a Buffalo hero.
