  1. Again with the multiple punctuation marks? Doesn't matter a whit if I make mistakes. We all do. But you think that grammar correction somehow makes your point, when you have little grasp of grammar yourself.
  2. No. I'm done with you on that point. You're wrong and being a partisan moron. There are lots of them on both sides here. Welcome to the club. You sit on the same side of the isle as PastaJoe and opposite Wacka.
  3. You are obligated to report and pay those taxes. Unlike a point of purchase sale, the onus of paying those taxes is on you. So I'm sure you meant that you regularly pay sales taxes on mail order items, just not at the time of purchase.
  4. "Pretty" is not a necessary modifier of "big." It's like using "very." Usually serves the purpose of weakening the adjective when the intent is the opposite. In AmE, we place the punctuation inside the quotation mark. Results should be result--no "s." A comma generally precedes which when setting off a dependent clause. I'm sorry. Did you say something? Are you getting the memo yet? Don't be a douchebag about grammar on a bulletin board unless someone writes like a 3rd grader.
  5. Link? How could it be unconstitutional? States charge sales taxes for almost anything. Online sales have never been different.
  6. It was on NBC's site on the same day it happened. That's where I saw it.
  7. He didn't vote against them, perhaps because he didn't think it's Constitutionally appropriate to oppose nominations unless they are dangerous. The quote you inserted provides no information on this. "Whom" is like a doddering old uncle in English, by the way. It's just about dead, but hanging by a thread. It's never appropriate in conversation unless you're the type who tips his pinkie when drinking (in which case, you're a tool). It's like that on this website too, but you're already a tool so carry on.
  8. One punctuation mark is adequate and exclamation marks are generally disfavored in all communication. Capitalizing proper names is customary.
  9. It's not easy talking to someone who's trying to be dense but I'll make another stab at it. McCain need not make that distinction. You can loathe a presidential choice and still approve that choice. In fact, I wish more Senators would do exactly that instead of holding up presidential appointments just because they are sympathetic to dems/reps. McCains Senatorial job is not to challenge every appointment. It's to challenge appointments that are incompetent or dangerous. Love him or hate him, Kennedy and the rest of the pro-Roes are at least competent. So he was right not to challenge their nomination, and would certainly not nominate them himself. I am thankful that you pointed out what a reasonable guy he is.
  10. Please check your own work.
  11. There's a huge difference there. If I was a senator, I'd confirm most of the justices sent to me by the president, unless I harbored serious doubts about their ability to do the job. I would not necessarily nominate those same people if I was president myself. Is that so hard to understand?
  12. I have a gut feel that people are undercounting Obama supporters. He's going to rally voters who have never voted before. Between the 2 candidates, I prefer McCain but I'm one of those undecided Independents. The more they talk, the less I want either one. McCain can still win my vote; Obama probably can't.
  13. I think you're right to a point. In a real debate, McCain would likely win. In the watered down, pre-submitted question format where the candidates just make speeches in response to questions, I think Obama will do fine. It will be to McCain's advantage to go off-script when he can, to see if Obama is nimble enough to respond. The election is Obama's to lose, and the debates are one place where he'll have to be careful. He'll probably just stick to a script. The other danger zone for Obama will be his VP choice. If he clears those hurdles without controversy, he should roll to a win.
  14. I worked with a guy who was the supervisor of a 300 million dollar construction project. He wasn't a college graduate and thus made about 120K/year. The 3rd year project engineer made 90K. In 3-4 more years, the project engineer will make more than the guy who manages 150 people. There are a million examples of idiocy like this.
  15. I'm scared by people who feel need to parade their religion publicly. I'm also scared by an electorate that wants to know its public officials religious views, and have those views paraded publicly.
  16. That's why I would live in a cardboard box to send my kid to a private school of my choosing.
  17. I'm not in the education business. I'm a patent attorney, though I teach an occasional college course.
  18. It's like dancing into the endzone holding the ball out to your side in one hand. It's showboating. The opposite of showboating is finishing out the race and not celebrating your win before it's over. He's a great athlete and a bit of a tool.
  19. I'm guessing that the team that went 18-1 places less stock in the pre-season than you.
  20. I've seen you post here before and expected the exact opposite response to this thread from you. That's a logically well-stated position. Not one I'm in 100% agreement with but it's sensible and I wish other Christians mimicked you instead of others.
  21. What a contrast in sportsmanship to the 100m dash winners.
  22. Why in most other sports are the Olympians good winners, but in the 100m dash, you get to act like a buttnut when you win? The silver medalist was celebrating like a post-sack Mark Gastineau. Funny that as fast as Bolt was, his stupid pre-ending celebration cost him time. 100 dollar body in a ten cent head.
  23. Just breaking both your balls brother!
  24. The higher education system is out to create one thing: college professors.
