  1. So you don't think that was an absolutely amazing play by Hall? Idiot.
  2. Poz is having a great day. Can he play Oline?
  3. Now we're not even going to make it to the SD game? Damn it I thought we had until 9/09. Not that I'm thrilled about the bailout mind you, but your shtick doesn't get old chicken little. There was a poster here who used to write like you--without the religious bent though. 20 gallons of gas, some canned food, a water tank, and a wad of (valueless) cash won't save you from the apocalypse.
  4. AIG may never take the loan. Shareholders are trying to get out of this on their own.
  5. Obama is probably funneling money to Barr for this.
  6. Obama won't be defending this one. If they both get tossed, it's a huge advantage for Obama. But then, this story is going nowhere.
  7. If you invested SS in the Dow, you'd be up for the week. Just sayin'.
  8. Funny. The market may end up for the week.
  9. To me, it suggests she's a teenager. He didn't beat him to a pulp--he hit him with a metal pipe because he was in his daughter's room. I'm not a redneck and I'd probably do the exact same thing.
  10. I wonder how long it will take to enact this plan and how much the government will take on. Just saying it's going to take it on will calm things down though and that's what's needed at the moment.
  11. If you don't like the people who do the ratings, watch this hatchet job on S&P's ratings guru. Bet he doesn't go on the air again soon. http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=859038023
  12. You left out the part that Congress is about to break until after the New Year. That's some leadership.
  13. I predicted Kirk Chambers and Ashton Youboty would play like studs at that time too.
  14. I have a friend in a regional investment bank. He's loving all this--great for their business.
  15. It's the issue that controls 90% of my vote. But only every year. A strong economy covers a lot of ills. A weak economy exposes them.
  16. That was a great article.
  17. Yes. We all recall. How are the commodities doing? SUV and pickup shortage is less about people not having money and more about the reality of gas prices and the stupidity of US manufacturers pinning their hopes on big vehicles. Smaller cars like the Prius are selling for 125% retail.
  18. It was harder to find a youtube vid of the high school play but here are both. http://www.wespeakthetruth.com
  19. I moved from Buffalo/Rochester in 1994 but like Brad said, Art brings back nostalgia for some golden Bills years. I'm a little shocked he's still broadcasting but why not? I'd listen. Also good to see Bob Gaughan (sp). I liked him.
  20. WHY ARE YOU %$#ing WITH THE FOOTBALL GODS? HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING? 21. I posted in another thread--it doesn't seem this is a bailout. It's a loan while AIG sells off some of its substantial assets, which should be plenty to payback its loan. The problem is one of liquid--AIG couldn't liquidate fast enough.
  22. Seems like this is a loan. The econ geeks can fill this in but it seems like AIG's problem is more one of liquid, not of having assets. The panic is forcing it to liquidate a lot of assets and it can't do it fast enough so the gov't loaned it cash while it sells off the assets. It's not a great solution to be sure, but from what I read, the taxpayer won't likely be stuck with this one. If the Dwight Drane's of the world would calm the !@#$ down, the market would calm down too.
  23. Finally some sanity.
  24. Good points. The basis for your vote should be these hard facts.
