  1. Being a Senator is their JOB dingbat. Running for president is the interview for the next job. McCain's thing is disingenuous but the multi-tasking response is more so.
  2. Thanks for the disclaimer. I thought you might be objective.
  3. The point is that the value of the 700 billion doesn't go to zero unless property goes to zero. (Or if we do, the GG plan and write the 700bb off.) The odds of the govt holding this property for long are low. It will spin off these loans into the market once it can. Let the private sector kick people out.
  4. Bull. The Republicans had a rare window of power controlling the Exec and Leg, with a divided SC for 6 years and did what with Fannie/Freddie? Sure, the seeds of the problems go further back but we wouldn't be on the current steep descent without the Repubs looking the other way for so long. I'm not saying the Dems aren't to blame (Barney Frank I'm looking at you) but the Repubs are holding most of the sh-- on this one.
  5. Thanks. That site is so subscription-driven that I never knw when I'm in an open part or a subscription part. I just assume it's all subscription.
  6. I have lots of silver. I melt it to form bullets in preparation to kill the soon-to-come undead. Of course, I don't have a gun to fire the bullets but I'm getting to that.
  7. I don't mind the 700 billion bailout AS MUCH because it's secured by the property. But all this bull sh-- about forgiving student loans (where do I sign up, whups, I've almost paid mine off, what an idiot I am) makes me nuts. That's just me paying for other people's poor decisions. !@#$ you America. Review this bill when it's over and go out and burn a flag in the street.
  8. From today's WSJ. I'd link it but you need a subscription.
  9. The Rams still have a bunch of offensive weapons. Don't take them lightly.
  10. That's what's killing me. He has been pulverizing people, especially sealing the edge for Lynch, but his mistakes are costly. I hope he's taking his poor play to heart, knowing he has to play even harder after that idiotic holdout. I'd like to see a week without a blindside sack for a fumble. Regarding Trent, what can you say? The kid is THAT good. The Int wasn't even his but whatever. He's got three 200 yard games in a row. JP did that in the last 3 games of 2006 (and 1 was 200 on the button). Bledsoe was the last guy to do that (in 2005, he had something like 6 200+ yard games in a row) before Losman. Three 200 yard games doesn't sound like much but considering the last two years of QB drought, it's an oasis.
  11. I hate it when you're right. I place this crisis largely on the Republicans. If they would do what they say they're going to do (be fiscally responsible), we might not be in this mess. But we are, and say what you want, this sh-- is in a bag at the Republican Party's door.
  12. This team hasn't broken 9 wins in a decade and you're comparing them to one of the best teams ever? I love this team. I hope this is the first year of a 15 year dynasty. But let's just beat the Rams.
  13. It's possible that that somewhere in the universe, elements randomly collided to form a pair of 1987 Air Jordans. Not likely, but possible. It's also possible that when I get back from lunch, Uma Thurman will be sitting nude on my desk chair. Stop this already. The Bills are 3-0 with 2 near losses. They could lose to the Rams and I wouldn't be shocked. This isn't the 1990 Bills who you could predict because they had such a strong record of winning games. This is a team that's lost for a long time, and only just started winning games. 16-0 talk usually comes with a winning track record. This team doesn't have that.
  14. Maybe he's not playing well. Maybe he's making mistakes (critical drop yesterday). Have you seen so much from him that you think he should be in the game more? Evans, Hardy, and even Reed are playing well--maybe Hardy just can't get past those guys.
  15. That was a critical drop yesterday. Edwards was laser-perfect so the offense overcame it but you can't drop balls on critical drives. Why would I care if he's in the game? The other wideouts are doing just fine.
  16. Tons of QBs don't do it especially when the rush is coming. The last QB to do it for the Bills with any consistency was Kelly. There was a recent myth in the NFL that you need an athletic QB who passes on the run outside the pocket. If anyone still believes that, they are way wrong. Pocket passers are still more consistent producers.
  17. RE the original post, you're a kook to quote Jefferson on matters economic. There isn't a person alive who thinks he a bead on those types of issues.
  18. Yup. Poz missed the ball by a millimeter. Both safeties took a bad angle. Higgins was in perfect stride. And no doubt more happened.
  19. Maybe buried in this 4 pages is how consistently tough Reed is on blocks. I see him burying his man on every downfield play. He's a tough little bastard.
  20. I fully expect him to be Pro Bowl caliber by week 7. Let's just hope his occasional crap play--which I attribute 100% to his holdout--doesn't lose us a game like it almost has 2 weeks in a row.
  21. In the 1st half, the speed edge rush was getting to Trent a lot. He was JP-ish (Or RJ-ish if you prefer)out there looking to run, escaping the pocket a lot, and taking ever deeper drops. In the second, he consistently stepped up in the pocket and let the rush go past him. Not sure if he did that himself or (more likely), the coaches told him to step up more. Credit the Raiders: they beat him up today, but more credit to Trent: he stepped up and threw despite the pressure. That was the biggest adjustment. The Raiders D was more than I expected. Their offense was crap. Even with the 80 yarder, they mustered only 250 yards.
  22. Once Edwards stopped running like JP and stepped into the pocket, that helped Peters too.
  23. He's playing hard but the Oline is getting !@#$ed up.
