  1. Warner is CARVING.
  2. It's early but this Losman looks more confident in the backfield.
  3. They did that so he wouldn't fall out of the cart. He was spacey.
  4. This AZ team is not crud.
  5. Hit as he threw, helmet up under chin...drove him into ground.
  6. Edwards down. He's done for this day. Barely moving.
  7. Are you still in the business of correcting misspellings of others are do you concede that you're an !@#$ for doing so? Don't even get me started on your grammar. And come on, at least spell your candidate's name correctly.
  8. When you throw the spelling stone, make sure you check your own post, OK?
  9. The rescue bailout plan won't stop a recession. It's not meant to. It's likely to be a rough market for a while. Put another way, the money was not intended to turn around the entire economy--just save it from the cliff--now we're headed down a slower path through an almost certain recession. The bailout is to take the bad debt off the market and keep capital flowing. Taking that bad debt off the market (most of it housing debt) should stabilize housing prices too--once that finally happens (won't be for a while), consumers will be in a bit better shape and hopefully the economy will follow.
  10. The electoral vote is looking even better for Obama. http://www.electoral-vote.com/ The US is really repudiating the Republicans this time around.
  11. I started a discussion on this topic here (on the PPP board) listing some of the pork. Also here in a little more detail.
  12. You got something right for a change. Well done. The original bill was 106 pages.
  13. They are trying to bait Republicans into switching votes too. Don't be so confident to blame a single party. This crap is an epidemic of the system. Too bad even the candidates can't lead by excising this junk from this bill.
  14. I didn't feel like summarizing it but there are also some tax incentives for Hollywood. Something for people who make movies in the US instead of overseas. This kind of sh-- would push my yes vote to a no. Mother!@#$ers.
  15. Thanks to Bush.
  16. The original bill was about 4 pages long; the new one is over 451 pages. I understand if you haven't read it. So let's take a look at what was added in order to insure that this absolutely critical piece of legislation passes. * $100 million tax break to benefit auto racetrack owners; * $192 million in rebates on excise taxes for the Puerto Rican and Virgin Islands rum industry; * $148 million in tax relief for U.S. wool fabric producers; * a $49 million tax benefit for fishermen and other plaintiffs who sued over the 1989 tanker Exxon Valdez spill; * and my favorite, a $2 million tax benefit for makers of wooden arrows for children. Look at that last one again. That's right. We're getting the shaft.
  17. I think they did that after the first pres. debate when Obama kept talking about the programs he wants to expand in answer to Lehrer's thrice-asked question: "What programs would you cut?"
  18. Bucknell here once upon a time. Not a whole lot going on in Lewisberg PA.
  19. What's up with Biden's eyes?
  20. Palin's Stepford-persona is on full display. For every question, she just hits "play" with one of her pre-recorded speeches...staring eerily into the camera. If she keeps this up, she'll hold her own, answering few questions. Still, if she breaks out of the Stepford thing, she could crumble.
  21. He's averaging a sack and a penalty a game so far. He makes some plays but blows others. No need to renegotiate; I don't hate him but I also don't love him like I used to. Until he shows he's the player he was in 2007, he's just another guy to me.
  22. McCain is tanking in PA. Unless Obama goes way off script in the next month, this could be ugly. McCain will be slinging tons of mud in the next 4 weeks. Just review Wacka's posts to catch his best-of.
  23. Every situation is different. My point was more this: Buying a house isn't always the best decision. It worked for you--values went up and you didn't tap your retirement account. Most people only build home equity if property values go up; building sweat or monetary equity is less common.
  24. Next you're going to say this is a complicated problem with many causes. How are you supposed to fit that kind of BS in a campaign commercial?
