  1. Very different cities. KC is really nice.
  2. The "what happens in the booth" thing is absurd. If someone is a closet racist, they aren't running around telling surveys that they support Obama (and then going to secretly change in the booth)--there are plenty of rational reasons not to vote for him that they can seize on. The out of the closet racists are already telling surveys they aren't voting for Obama. I said this in another thread here somewhere. This "what happens in the secrecy of the booth" is an NPR-tumping thing to drum up more Dem voters. Totally convinced of it. Every person who I've heard mention it is an ultraliberal effwit.
  3. They got that one mixed up with the high school sex ed video.
  4. Maybe they can get a few turnovers frmo all this film-studying.
  5. I've listened forever. Haven't noticed a guest dropoff. He rarely has huge superstars and has about the same number now as ever. Big stars don't risk his show. For example, Brad Pitt is a huge Howard fan but refuses to go on the show. Others are like that. One way to measure his relevance: whenever he has a guest, that person (even the most irrelevant porn star) jumps to top 10 (usually top 3)in Google Trends. Happens 100% of the time. Also Google Trends reflects when they run a particularly good bit. After most shows, you can go to the Google Trends top 50 and 10 of the topics are related to Howard's show that day. I'd say that's pretty relevant, whether you listen anymore or not.
  6. Free WiFi is a god-given right, like universal healthcare. /Obama 2012.
  7. When people attack blzrul, they almost always mention her sex. I've always found it misplaced and disturbing. Filip the tables to race and you've got people saying things like "Look you stupid black moron, your position makes no sense." A statement like that would result in a banning. When someone think they should mention her sex by saying something like "you stupid woman," it's no different. True that she's a woman, but no different. No one ever says to you, as mind-numbingly obnoxious and dumb as you are, "Look you stupid man...." Not the PC police; just an observation about how easy it is to mention Debbie's sex when attacking her, where no one ever mentions a man's sex when attacking them. She can take it but it's remarkable how easily posters fall into this trap of disrespect.
  8. Trent is the perfect QB for a tight end too. He loves the short to medium pass and hits the middle of the field well. Tony G. would get a lot of looks here. Agree with Dean (stabs needles in eyes for doing so): The G-Men seem like the most likely landing place. Outside shot at the Pack. Eagles and Tampa don't make sense. The Eagles won't make the playoffs and Tampa has questions at QB. Unless the Bills sweeten the pot, I call Giants.
  9. I just blogged about that scene the other day. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?act=P...mp;qpid=1163168 Damn that Mr. Potter.
  10. I couldn't predict a bottom. I just hope we get to it soon!
  11. I completely intended on buying a bunch of blue chips 2 days ago and just was lazy about it. I still want to and will do it tomorrow (if I get to it). Don't let it be said that procrastination doesn't make you money.
  12. Just curious. How much of the money has been lent to banks so far? I'm optimistic that instead of a multiyear market plunge that we were likely going to have, we're just getting it all out of the way in a few weeks. As the bad news comes over the next few weeks with earnings, this drop should have anticipated it all. See, I'm an optimist! A nice market holiday would also cool some heads. The panic is frenzied at the moment. 500 point sell-off in an hour? Idjits. Also, Howard will be back from his Honeymoon soon. That will help.
  13. Can we just close the NYSE at 2pm every day? It's the 2-4 traders that keep doing this. Morons.
  14. If only there was a decent candidate on my ballot!
  15. Jim's right, we're not at Armageddon. It used to be that when the Dow was down 1%, I lost $10,000. Now when the Dow is down 1%, I'm only out a grand. In some way, that's reassuring.
  16. He's really losing it. I could follow "My fellow" with a handful of things but "prisoners"? Cuckoo Cuckoo Cuckoo
  17. Back to the Catholic thread for you blasphemer.
  18. Check back in 5 years for that prediction.
  19. That's Tom's thing. There are a few of us engineer-lawyers in the world. We're smarter than you and can graph it.
  20. I'm an engineer and a lawyer. What's not to love?
  21. Also an engineer here. I have no idea if it will help but I feel confident he can't do worse than his predecessors.
  22. I agree with your point (not quoted above) that "smart people" can be scary. The above though, is a bit silly. Obama is more left than he wants to discuss. That seems clear. But calling his wife a psycho? She's not running. Yet Palin, who is a whole lot scarier in that creepy fundamentalist Bush/Ashcroft way but without the experience or intelligence (yeah, I said it, she's not even as smart as Bush), is.
  23. OMG. This may be the shoeshine boy moment. Stock tips on PPP? Dwight Drane is right. Quit your job and buy a gun, bible, and pile of gold.
  24. And who cares? It's a Rome fiddling issue like gay marriage. A few radicals on either side won't cross a line and vote based on it. A whole lot of people in the middle vote based on a galley of other important and pressing issues, like say, the economy. Regarding Roberts, it was an issue people could make wind out of and look like they were fighting the nomination. In the end, he is a highly qualified (read: not Clarence Thomas) judge and was rightfully approved.
