  1. This team is better than last year's team only at QB and Nose Tackle. Other than that, this year's Bills are almost no different than last year's. It will take a miraculous turnaround for the Bills to make the playoffs.
  2. Hi motors.
  3. Be careful. 30 yards rushing, much of it to the left side including -1 yard on 4th and a foot. It's not all Peters's fault but there is hardly a guy on this team who pushes his man downfield on a run play and that includes Peters. Peters did very well pass-blocking as he often does.
  4. There was no blind side pressure today but the failure of the line to move a man downfield on a run play is embarassing. Nothing worse than the 4th and inches failure over Dockery. Trent will be in for a long 8 games if this team keeps proving incapable of rushing. The line is not good enough to consistently protect him and the WRs are not good enough to be pass happy. This is a shame too because Trent is a good ball faker. Defenses just don't care.
  5. That was a bad pass for sure. The first one had contact on QB plus a fallen Parrish. If Parrish doesn't slip it's an incomplete pass. On the fumble, he never had a chance. Trent is now the sole source of offense because the line is incapable of run blocking. It flat can't do it. That kills a QB.
  6. No. Peters got TOASTED on that play. Dockery did not help (barely touched Porter). But just because Peters got no backup doesn't make it Dockery's fault. How Peters gives up the inside rush there is beyond understanding. I posted this before. Peters has 4-5 awful plays a game lately and many totally dominant ones. Pro Bowl LTs do not have 4-5 awful plays a game.
  7. What prevailing message is that? A black guy may win and the racial divide will be deeper? How so?
  8. You're right--not Upton. I was thinking it was one of the speed demons. Maddon said they were sending Bartlett all the way there.
  9. I think Utley faked the throw so the runner rounding third would commit, knowing he could never get Upton at first. If Utley had caught the ball and looked at the runner rounding third, he would never have gone home. The fake baited him.
  10. That Utley play was awesome. Faking to first (where he had no play) baited the runner to try for home--one of the smartest plays you'll see someone make.
  11. I was waiting for these posts. No matter what, don't trust the darkies! They riot at every opportunity.
  12. Awesome. for over 2 miles, people pour into the streets and there are 5 overturned cars (by reports), some broken wondows, and 1 store broken into. That's like a broken plate at a party. The people of Philly were great last night. It was a fun and relatively peaceful HUGE party, with a few nimrods who would be present in any group. As to whether Philly is a true sports town, I also don't know what to say. There are maybe 10 really great sports citeis in the US. Philly is in the top 5. They eat their own but they LOVE their teams. Try to criticize them as an outsider and you'll probably get a punch in the face and deserve it. But they'll buy you a beer if you hate the team as an insider.
  13. We care what you think.
  14. Some photos and videos. http://www.wespeakthetruth.com/2008/10/wooooohoooooo-am.html Parade should be just a little fun tomorrow.
  15. It doesn't matter. The celebration will be legendary for this town. Last night, Broad Street was filled from City Hall to Patterson (2 miles maybe)--in the photos, it looks like Mardi Gras. The crowd was pretty well-behaved (some stuff happened but not much) and the parade is set for Friday at noon. I can't even imagine how people will turn out to celebrate the losingest franchise ever. My business, like many others, will close so people can go to the parade. A few photos of what it was like on Broad Street http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-bli...innerville.html
  16. Gmail has an autorespond feature based on keywords. When I get one that mentions any major candidate, they get a canned response: "Stop being such an annoying jerkoff. Delete my email from your address book. No arguments. I hate you."
  17. Selig said he would never have called the game if it hadn't been tied. So basically, he wanted the game to go on through the slop until the Rays tied it (at which point they get a reprieve) or the Phils won. It is still raining here. He dicked it up, although the ratings for a 3.5 inning game should be high.
  18. How did Intrade do in predicting Palin?
  19. Did the Jesuits teach you to resort to "Whatever" when cornered? Or did you get that training from a lesser sect?
  20. Obviously.
  21. And you keep being the poster-boy for the suburban Buffalo education system. It's not a no win. Rain was in the forecast. It was raining a little at 4. More at 6. By 7 it was consistent with a strong wind and 42 degree temps. Selig had Fox's rooster in his mouth and refused to delay the game. Then he made them play in slop until he got unbelievably lucky that the game got tied up (After leaving Hamels standing on the mount in the pouring rain for 15 minutes without throwing a pitch). He's a tool. Of course you'd like him.
  22. By 4pm, it was clear that it was going to pour all night in every forecast. And guess what? It did. Selig wanted to get the game in for ratings and now he has a mess, made worse by the fact that the Phillies had the lead for a long time so they wouldn't dare call the game. Instead, he kept it going in slop right up until the Rays tied it. Only then, miracly, did they suspend the game. Hmm. At that point, might as well play it out as it's a disaster already. Now you get a 3.5 inning partial birth abortion game.
  23. This is one of those only in Philly moments. Sports radio is on fire today. There are 2 fitting Philly outcomes. One, they lose. Two, they win at home and during the presentation of the trophy, you won't hear a thing because the fans will boo Selig so loudly for playing that game with drenching rain in the forecast all day.
  24. It has been a deluge all night. Pena and Upton saved MLB and the Rays with that run.
  25. Philadelphians eat their own when they suck but they are euphoric over winners. Breaking the 25 year streak of no championships for any pro team in Phillie will result in a big GD party. Horns all day too. Reminds me of Buffalo in the early 90s. Would be nice if the Phils who are the losingest team in all pro sports (10,098 losses and counting) would break this streak. Plus, the Phillies are a likeable bunch of guys. I understand hating the Flyers. The Eagles are not a hateable bunch at present. I have lived here 14 years and am a Sixers and Phillies fan.
