I voted Barr under protest for those reasons--maybe the Libertarians can get some traction. -
NBC calls PA for Obama
John Adams replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Fox is in for a painful night. All day long (it was on in our work cafeteria), they ran stories about how the polls were wrong and McCain was going to win the battleground states. Dumbasses. -
You and Pasta Joe buddies?

PA is one McCain needed. This will be a national thrashing. I kinda feel bad that a guy could work so hard and then get so whupped. Great call on Palin over Ridge McCain!
-
This thing they keep doing on CNN where they show the differences between 2004 and 2008 is striking. Obama is having a much better showing in all states but Indiana in particular.

NBC calls PA for Obama

ABC called it too. PA is going to be way way blue. Philadelphia will wash out any McCain support in an utter tidal wave of votes. (Sorry Lori.) -
What I like: (1) Balance in Supreme Court. (2) Wants to get the !@#$ out of Iraq. (3) Umm.

Bill in NYC and I are not exactly always on the same page, as has been well-covered on this board. We reached that conclusion about you independently (not even sure how he arrived there). I'll stop piling on so as not to turn this into a campaign, but you need to take a hard look at yourself on race.

DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN!! DON'T COUNT YOUR CHICKENS
John Adams replied to Steely Dan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Stop it already NPR. This is like when NPR was saying things looked good for Kerry hours after the election was called. They love to hype the Dems up. This is a lay-up drill for Obama, especially if you look at the electoral map. -
I am not voting for McCain, but I have to respect him
John Adams replied to Adam's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The thing I respect the most about Obama is that he thumbed his nose at the black-power movement that has bogged down black politicians for years (the Jesse Jacksons of the world)--and still is getting the support of blacks. That alone may turn the tide for black leadership away from the sham black leaders to real ones. -
He's still in my doghouse but he's not the Oline problem. He's a HOF lineman compared to his mates.

The last INT was a forced throw that sucked. Even if they score, the game is a long shot. (They needed an onsides kick and then another score.) The other 2 turnovers are hard to fault Edwards. The first INT was a timing pattern on an out where the WR fell. I don't care what Simms said in the booth--if Parrish doesn't fall, he's where the ball is supposed to be and will at the very least be fighting for a catch. The fumble was a play where a DB came untouched to his blidside. Trent took 5 steps and was hit before he set. The FB decided not to pick u pthe blitz. Hard to fault the Qb on a broken protection. The offensive problems are not with the QB. Try looking at the line. If the line can't block for the run, he'll never be great though--only good. Trent's still got one of the best yards-per-attempt in the NFL but the Bills may be on their way to setting a team futility rushing record.

As bad as the D-line is, the defense is not the problem. The O-line is the crux of losses right now. Not Trent. Not Lynch. Not the TE situation. Not sh------- Hardy. Not Reed's injury.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That INT is on Edwards. It was a bad throw. To me though, it's like the Royal fumble in Miami. No matter what happens on those plays, the Bills are a long ways from winning the game. -
The miraculous turnaround is that the Bills have beaten zero teams over or even at .500. Zero point zero. It took 4th quarter surges and some breaks to get 3 of those wins over crappy teams. Pile unto that the fact that after 8 games, everyone in the NFL knows that the Bills won't pressure the QB and conversely, that the Bills can't run the ball. I love this team. I think Trent is an excellent QB. Stroud is a good player. But looking at that schedule, I don't have confidence that the Bills will win more than 9 games and 8-8 looks like a realistic prediction.
