  1. Living up to your moniker I see.
  2. Should be fun. http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/st...e_trailer2.html
  3. An entire generation of Consumer Reports and every other credible auto reviewing source disagrees. Some brands like Ford have definitely started to get better and compete but American auto makers are digging out of a hole.
  4. Mother Nature? There are homosexual animals. People are likely born homosexual. WTF is this Mother Nature argument? Ever do anything that is out of the ordinary sexually? Against Mother Nature? Drop that argument. You don't like the thought of a guy's dong up your butt. Me neither. Who cares? "Let a gay guy put his dong up any consenting adult's butt that he feels like."* * DC Tom, jerkoff: that is going to be the new military policy.
  5. What free pass are you talking about? This board is FULL of criticisms of his play. JP has proven he sucked. Trent is playing poorly but at this point, we might as well see if he can return to good form. If he can't, it's time to scrap the QB position and rebuild. Again.
  6. He should repeal it but if it's a priority, he's nuts. From that story, it looks like it's on his "to do" list, but way down that list. Makes sense to me.
  7. I'm a fan of Toyota/Lexus just because their reliability is continuously off the chart. I'll get back to you about repairs when I need one. BMW does not have a great reliability report card. In fact, they are known to need a lot of maintenance--but you get the sweet sporty ride that is much different from Lexus's comfort feel. You can't go wrong with Honda or Toyota. I love them both.
  8. Just like Dwight Drane seaid he would! Buy silver!
  9. Dwight Drane predicted it.
  10. The O line has 1 good game and now it's all Trent's fault? D-line, O-line, tight ends, Edwards: there is blame to go around. If there was a team meeting of the good players, it would be a small meeting.
  11. JDPower used the source doc I linked to for safety. Ford did well. Other American cos. did not. Honda did well. Toyota and Nissan were right behind Honda/Ford. Audi also high.
  12. When I buy a car, for me, the following are most important: (1) Reliability (2) Interior comfort (I'm tall but I also like quiet) (3) mileage Things I don't care about: cornering, performance, towing capacity, or 0-60 time.
  13. http://www.iihs.org/ratings/default.aspx Crash tests show that Hondas are some of the safest cars on the road and with the exception of a few Fords, almost no American car even makes the lists of safest cars. Try again.
  14. What's funny? I just did a quick review of Consumer Reports recommended cars. While some are American (Ford Fusion, Chevy Malibu), most are Japanese: Nissan, Honda, Toyota. In the luxury categories, there are hardly any American cars. Basically, though a few models (mostly Fords) might be better, American cars are still perceived as crappy. (BTW, German cars scored even worse than American cars but most people want German cars for the cache, not the reliability.) http://blogs.consumerreports.org/cars/2008...eliability.html
  15. Theodore now works for Saleen, a company that makes custom high performance cars.
  16. Unfortunately, vision has to be shared within the company. At Toyota facilities, "kaizen" is a word mentioned frequently. The word means "continuous improvement" and is a key factor in Toyota quality. Not only does management get this; so do manufacturing workers. Do you think the UAW and Detroit management share a vision like that? No chance.
  17. Tell you what: I rented a Kia Rhondo (sp) on a vacation last year. That car--for a no frills jobber--was pretty decent. Better than a Mustang I rented a few months before that.
  18. You guys are so cute together. There is blame to go around. The UAW is insane and though maybe not outdated (I just said that to make you feel better pbills), its demands are. Management has made plenty of mistakes too. Too many brands. Too many dealers. Poor choices of product lines. Both the UAW and management let quality drop into the shitter for 20 years. Even though things are better now, Detroit pays heavily for that failing and will take a long time to win customers back. If I even considered buying American, I have no idea what is good anymore and what is still crap. The CEO's pay means nothing in this mess. Where management screwed up is vision.
  19. Teams haven't been blitzing the last few weeks. Even the announcers commented on how Clevelnd is usually blitz-happy but was not sending anyone extra.
  20. Agreed. American cars have come a long ways. The problem is that they let themselves develop 20 years of bad reputation. That's a big hole to dig out of. I'd rather take the surer thing (a Japanese car) than the possibly improved American car when I'm dropping thousands on a car.
  21. Decades of consumer reports reviewers choose Japanese cars (not trucks until recently) as better. My dad only drives American and always has problems. I have owned only Japanese (Hondas, Toyotas) since 1999. I have had zero breakdowns, no repairs, and only regular maintenance. My biggest complaint was that my last Accord that was 15 years old when I sold it went through brake pads at an absurd rate. The new Hondas don't have that problem.
  22. Drafting a QB is too much of a crapshoot. I'd rather pick up a FA. If it gets to that. Trent has one problem. He can't find people when they drop 7-8 in coverage. That seems like a fixable problem. I sure hope it is. He has a good arm. He reads (and reacts to) blitzes well.
  23. The ocean is big. Once the pirates get the boats, they dock them right where everyone can see, but in a sovereign nation.
  24. Cool. I counted Lindell's 47 yard FG as a make.
  25. American cars are way better than they once were. The problem is, as you perceive, that the Japanese cars have a better (deserved) reputation. When you !@#$ a consumer for so long, it takes a while to get your reputation back. Detroit will have to do a lot to get me into a showroom. I have owned 1 German car, 5 Japanese cars, and 3 American cars. Most of all of those were used; the American cars were the worst. The Japanese cars were by far the best. Now that I buy new and newer cars, the Japanese cars are embarassingly better than the American ones.
