The intolerant bigotry of the liberal left
John Adams replied to stuckincincy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Zoos are generally a scientific endeavor. I support the Philly zoo and attend a few programs a year--all of them informative. If the Zoo decided to cross-promote with the Creation Museum, however, I would question their scientific mission and might write a letter too. I don't see this as bigoted. I don't see this as a leftist issue either. To me, it seems like smart people raised a stink because the zoo (a place of science) was cross promoting with the Creation Museum (an anti-science place). -
I don't care much but I don't see any value in doing it every day. I said the Pledge and Our Father/Hail Mary every day in school and feel no closer or further from god and country than if I hadn't. It was just an annoying thing to do before the day started.

Umm what? Really? He's a condition I'd like on the money. When you have just enough money left in the bank to pay off this loan, pay it off and turn the lights out on your way to bankruptcy.

Need any more proof that "Christmas" is out of hand?
John Adams replied to blzrul's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The song is a Christmas song and that's what they sing at the Meetinghouse on Christmas Eve. It's a song about the birth story of Jesus. I don't attribute any deeper meaning to the song. I also sing along to 2112 but I've never lived in a post-apocalyptic world where a guitar is a discovery. -

John Adams replied to blzrul's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't believe that Jesus is the son of god. I do celebrate Christmas and wish people a Merry Christmas this time of year. Christmas has meaning to plenty of nonreligious (or alt-religious) folk. Heck, we'll even sing Silent Night in the Quaker Meetinghouse on Christmas Eve. -
Bring In Andy Reid and McNabb
John Adams replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reid is AWFUL! He is one of the worst coaches I've ever seen in a game. His GM-ability is the only thing worse than his gameday coaching. Plus he's a softspoken pu$$y. He'd be a perfect fit for the Bills. -
No, the stories at the time said that Milch (the creator of Deadwood and John) had bot hseries in the can for HBO. When HBO ordered John from Cincinnati, he opted to do it and drop Deadwood. Ridiculous. Deadwood was the best show I've ever seen on TV. I wouldn't wipe my ass with John From Cincinnati.

Bring In Andy Reid and McNabb
John Adams replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is you crazy. Reid is one of the worst gameday coaches in the NFL. He is a decent prep coach but his job should be coordinator, not HC. McNabb is a better QB than our current contenders but he's not that good and is not a team leader. No to both. -
My car dealer called me to sell me a new car (mine is just about paid off). First he told me that although I might be hearing that auto cos. are in trouble, his dealership moved 18 cars the day before. I congratulated him then got his quotes on a couple models I would consider. When he gave the numbers, I told him I wasn't really interested and that I'd be sitting tight on making a big expenditure like a car. He then told me that if I had the money, I would be one of the people helping dig the economy out of the recission instead of keeping it there by being cautious. I reminded him that he didn't need my money: he'd just sold 18 cars the day before and business was kicking. He was not amused.

HBO didn't cancel Deadwood. The creator wanted to do John from Cincinnati and thus cut off the show. So someone was dumb on that and it wasn't HBO. Rome cost a fortune and was never going to have a long run.

Better than when he broke down a UB student's door and choked her.

I HATE 'em. I love 'em. I hate 'em. I can't quit you Bills.

I hate to spoil the pity party ....

3 points. No wins against a team with a winning record. 3 comeback wins against teams with losing records. This team ain't winning 4 straight against good teams. No chance. No way. No how. Let's talk draft. -
Let's put the terrorist in......
John Adams replied to SKOOBY's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He has poise under pressure and can avoid the rush. Despite lots of disruption, he still communicates well. -
Games 1-4: Team was playing well but there were complaints about the O-line play. Tight End a joke. Games 5-8: Team was not as good. O-line complaints were at a crescendo. D-Line sucked. DBs bit rooster. LBs are unknown. Bills have no WRs. Tight End a joke. Games 9-12: Kicking/punting game AWOL. QB situation critical. O-Line play is suddenly better as are DBs and RBs. Tight End is a disaster. Let's see: through 12 games, not one part of the team has played well in even a majority of the games. I wonder who you put the blame on for that.

If Osama will attempt a 25 yard pass and hand the ball off even if Turk calls a pass play, I say sign him. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lynch averaged 8.5/carry and had 1 carry in the 4th quarter. QB is an issue. Play-calling is a problem too. -
Marshawn had only 1 carry in the 4th quarter
John Adams replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was only averaging what: 8 yards per carry? Why run him more--his average was probably going to only go down. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another thing that bothers me as I hang up any chance at the playoffs: Why doesn't anyone ever help Lynch up after a run? He NEVER EVER gets a hand up from a lineman. I see that as both lazy lineman and lack of team cohesion. Stupid observation but it bugs me. Enjoy the next 4 games. The season is over. Goddamnit. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's what I don't get. The QB has time. The running game is working. Why can't either QB complete (or even attempt) a long pass? I think the "bomb" is overrated but how about a pass that is 20 yards in the air? Do such plays exist? Are the WRs blanketed? I am not sure if the WRs aren't getting open but I know there was one 2nd and short where the safety showed blitz and Evans was 1 on 1--it would have been a great time to check out of the play and try a deep shot. Instead, 5 yard pass to Shouman. I HATE this offense and hate is not too strong of a word. Preston's 2 penalties were awesome. Strange thing is: he's not anywhere near as bad as Fowler. Edwards was awful. JP was better but still JP (taking bad sacks). I don't know why they ever stopped running. -

Good timing on the fumble Lynch. Glad I will be listening to the 2nd half instead of watching it! -
