I am a huge NFL fan and have never, and will never, watch a Pro Bowl. It should be an honor and they should not play the game. The other sports can play a variant of their game (no defense) and have fun in their All-Star games but you can't play football right without serious risk of injury. Axe the game; retain the awards.

They were likely worse than you think. With close games over Oakland, St. Louis, and Jacksonville--all drafting ahead of the Bills in 2009--the Bills were nearly a 4 win team. The Bills had a JV schedule this year outside the division. Does anyone honestly think they could have competed with Pittsburgh, Tennessee, the Giants, Baltimore, etc.?

Setting aside coaching which is obviously the root of the problem, our O-line is so fat and slow that they can't get downfield. Look at any long run this season and you'll see that it happened after the RB hit the line and bounced outside on his own. Pulls and pitches are not possible. A screen is a dream because the lineman have no chance to get downfield, and that includes Peters. The Bills need to be careful replacing lineman because the best lines are those that have played together. I think they should replace center and also Dockery. Leave the other 3 in place. Changing more than 3 lineman will be disaster.

Maybe the fourth time's a charm.

At some point in the season, I decided to make my comments in your "Thoughts" thread so thanks for it. I count on this thread to have most of the important topics covered. RE Peters. I continue to find Peters overrated. Chambers played well in EVERY game he played for Peters, which I think was 4. That isn't me running Peters out of Buffalo, but I saw enough of his awful play--especially stupid plays--to remain unconvinced that he's worth top dollar. Is he good? Yes. Great? No. The biggest reason I want him to get a contract extension is continuity. RE Dockery. He's junk. If he wasn't under such an onerous contract, I'd say cut him now. RE Jackson. At some point in the season, I said he was a better RB than Lynch. By that I don't mean that he's as strong, just that he's smarter hitting the holes and makes himself small and hard to hit. If I was running the Bills, I'd try to do everything I could to make room for him. RE Edwards. It was an up and down year. I don't blame him for all the bad plays; clearly Schonert blows. That said, he had some poor moments too. In all, I think he earned the right to be the unequivocal 2009 starter. For those who think he stinks because he never attempts a downfield pass, remember that even when JP played, there were no downfield plays, and we all know JP loves to throw deep. Blame the play-calling. RE off-season. Priorities, in this order: COACH Center, at least one pass-rushing DE, Guard (to replace or at least drive--haha--Dockery) a bigger WR ... Those are the biggies, after that, I'd say re-sign Jackson a good MLB DT (though Kyle Williams can stay as backup...he has his moments), a TE (they are hard to come by so who knows if there will be any), a veteran backup QB, a FB.

He'd have had to hold on to it for 5 more seconds to call it a JP. When the rush gets to you as you set to throw, it's just a sack/fumble.

Why would the officials be at fault? The Bills ran the ball in the middle of the field with no TOs. The half ends as it should. BTW, it was 3rd down on the run so the Bills could not even spike the ball.
