  1. Because it's not. Kelly got a timely call to the HOF. If he hadn't been up that particular year and had his JV-USFL stats included in his career, he might not have gotten in. Even with the USFL stats, his numbers are borderline (Behind Kerry Collins in yards--behind Bledsoe in almost all categories and Drew shouldn't get anywhere near the HOF). I love him--he is probably my second favorite Bills player of all time but he's close to the bottom of the HOF QBs.
  2. I hire someone to do my taxes but my life is simple. I make some money. I have a single home that I've lived in for 10 years. Most years I don't realize gains/losses. The most complicated items are a partial offset I get between the local and city taxes. (4.2% in Philly--NICE!)
  3. I think Daschle had to fall on his sword once the speaking fee crap started making headlines. I am glad he's out. Eff these people who are not paying taxes. It's one thing to screw up a few grand--but 130K? He's a dirtbag.
  4. WTF? Daschle owed 145K in taxes. I am too honest by far. I should be sticking it to the man.
  5. Commit yourself to a mental institution. Did you not see AZ stop Pittsburgh inside the 5 yard line 9 times in this game? (3 times on the first drive from the 1. 6 more times on the plays when Wilson ran into the holder). My desk needs to be refinished.
  6. I made this point a while ago. He needs to STFU and focus on the path forward. It REALLY is a problem. When your leader (in any setting) keeps saying "We're !@#$ed," it becomes self-fulfilling. This is just a leadership point. Someone needs to clue him in.
  7. Shaky performance: 2nd most yards passing in SB history. 73% completion rate. 3 TDs. Against the #1 defense. Could he have done better? Sure. He could have had a 100% completion rate. But you try getting that completion percentage to 100% with Mike Gandy "guarding" your back and no running game. You should ban yourself for making such absurd statements.
  8. He threw for 377 yards against the best defense in football. 12 incompletions. 3 TDs. 73% completion percentage. I'll take that skittish, poor reading, hurtful performance.
  9. Kelly probably shouldn't be in--Warner is in that borderline range but what a performer he is. Now with the top 3 performances in SB yards. Jesus says he should be in so he'll probably make it. I wish I could find all you people who said his wife was ugly in the late 90s. Just because she had short hair. Idjits.
  10. Fifth in NFL history in total career receptions, ninth in NFL history in total career receiving yards with 13,198. Reed is also eleventh in NFL history in total career touchdown receptions with 87. Dominant in his era. Add to that 7 pro bowls. The HOF has 20 modern era WRs. Reed deserves to be among them.
  11. I hate him like I hated Kelly when he had 5 turnovers in the SB. Looking at the career, he's done a lot more good (especially by keeping the Bills in Buffalo) than bad (hiring Jauron).
  12. Crayonz is no hogboy. Crayonz on a good day is mildly amusing but most here are now in the habit of ignoring him. He doesn't get too many bites anymore. Hogboy had the talent of reeling people in at will.
  13. Yeah. It's hard to argue with that Steeler defense. You almost never see the best defense lay an egg. A good offense lays an egg every few games. It's just how things are. Even if Arizona brings its best offensive performance, I don't see them scoring a ton of points. I was just pointing out that Warner is a pretty amazing QB. He throws the most catchable ball I've seen since Warren Moon.
  14. Guess who has the record for most yards passed for in a SB? Here's a hint: the same guy is also #2 in this statistic. Gannon couldn't carry Warner's jock.
  15. Continuing off the top of head: Dolphins, Cowboys, Giants (?), Redskins, Bengals (longer than current Bills helmet), Browns, Colts, 49ers, Rams, Colts...maybe Seahawks.
  16. Until I read that WSJ article this morning, I had assumed that the majority of this bill was infrastructure and bank support. I knew there would be plenty of junk (like the wooden arrow mfg industry in the TARP bill). And I could almost deal with that. Infrastructure is a nice win (creates job and related training) win (people with jobs spend) win (we get some good infrastructure to use). But a third of the bill is straight handouts: medicare, earned income credit (never a more absurd name!), and food stamps. That's not creating a single job. Buying cars for Congress doesn't sound like economic stimulus (I don't doubt it's necessary but why in this bill). Same with NEA funding. And on and on. I am stunned that this is getting pushed as a job creation/stimulus package. It's a load of warm turd and Obama should be ashamed for cramming it down people's throats.
  17. Our notes continue to look a lot more attractive than any other country I can think of.
  18. You might want to rethink that. Inflation is largely the result of consumers having lots of extra devalued money. That's not what TARP did though--the money didn't get to consumers. Importantly, that money went to the banks to help balance their books (the banks were probably insolvent and needed the cash). The cash the banks got went to offset paper losses and thus the "printed" cash really didn't affect inflation because it never got to the consumers. That printed cash merely saved/is saving the banks. And that was important. For TARP II or whatever the stimulus will be called, more money is meant to get to the marketplace and thus we'll likely get some inflation. But again, a lot of that money will go to bailout companies and banks and won't affect inflation as much as the Chicken Littles of the world think and hope. I heard this explanation from the CIO of Vanguard. He was talking about M1 and M2 money supplies and the like. I loaded his explanation into my RAM memory and understood it completely then...now my Hard Drive memory is more limited and the above is all I got. GG or TPS might be able to add more detail but the crux of his assertion is that we're not going to see inflation until the money being added into the supply starts making it into the marketplace--past the banks (M1) and credit card cos (M2).
  19. It didn't look intentional to me either. He was trying to step over him and when he lost his balance on the initial contact, his foot came down hard as it tried to find solid footing. He was not going to back down once he did it but it really didn't look intentional to me. It WAS intentional that he tried to step over his opponent though, which is kind of a BS move.
  20. Another nominee for DC Tom's band of Merry Men? (I almost promise to stop doing this.)
  21. I have vacation points in the Disney Vacation Club program. I like the flexibility of points that can be used at any one of a bunch of resorts/hotels/cruises around the world. So far I've used it at WDW, The Hotel Del in San Diego, and Atlantis Bahamas. We got excellent rooms for no cost (except the original price). At about year 7, I figure we break even on what we originally spent. Now I'm at year 4. The original price got us 49 years of vacations (and vacations I can share with others). I figure Disney is a good investment because other resorts will always want to be in business with Disney and also, owning a portion of a Disney property is relatively safe. I agree with what someone else said: buy from people reselling their points. Especially in this market, there are lots of sellers.
  22. If you have to use outlook, you should have Google desktop installed for searching. The outlook search is a joke.
  23. Helmet created the only thread to ever join nearly all members of this board in harmony. YES WE CAN!
