Ads to continue to be more graphic and adult oriented
John Adams replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Here's how I explain it to my 7 year old daughter. "Viagara is a drug that helps people who are having trouble having sex have sex." BFD. It's just the facts. RE the Doritos commercial (which she saw): "Lots of men like to see women naked and that's what he was wishing for." Again, BFD. -
Remember Men, Tomorrow is Valentines Day

You mean the service where they put your name in a book next to a star and tell you they named it after you! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Scamalicious, but they thank you for your money. -
I like Trent but watch him with a wary eye myself. What you say above is untrue. He's particularly and almost uncanny-effective against the blitz. He is downright AWFUL against a 3 man rush, ie, he does terrible with lots of people dropping in coverage. Watch the NE game: Bellicheck barely blitzed at all because they didn't need to. If Trent has a strength, it's that he plays very well when the heat comes (he reads and reacts well). His weakness is that he's cautious or maybe overthinks things when he has time to do so. So--we agree--there are concerns. Just disagreeing on this point.

Microsoft to open branded retail locations
John Adams replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Mac and PC guy commercials are already in production. -
Guess he caught more people with that act that I would have thought he could have. Come on. That is a GREAT appearance and generates more pub for his movie than anything he could have done. If you think it's real, I'll sell you a bridge. He's a pretty normal guy--he had the most normal appearance on Letterman 3 years ago.

Tricky Dick on Archie Bunker and fags
John Adams replied to John Adams's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He may have had a high IQ but look at DC Tom: high IQ ain't all it's cracked up to be. He's nucking futs. Don't believe me? Just ask him. As to the bolded statement, there is a plaque buildup in your brain. You don't overcome the damage he did with two good acts. -
More People Will Quit Smoking

Cincy--you just made a great pitch for decriminalization of all drugs. -
Tricky Dick on Archie Bunker and fags

Oh yes he was. Just because he had some good days doesn't mean that he had a lot of bad ones. I've read 3 bios: he was a scary guy to have so near the button. -
If obama is a converted muslim.....
John Adams replied to BuckyFillUps's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Your response is such a better expression of what I was feeling. -
Down 11% from the Jan 08 numbers. Not exactly heartening though I'll take any glimmer of good news in this chaos. Coke and McDonalds still doing well. And yes, Dwight Drane, gold is up!

So you already agree that the Prius pops your bubble. How about the renewal of the local grocer and push for locallygrown produce? Face it: there are lots of commercial products that have been developed to help the environment and lots of people buy those products. Global Warming is not all about the government and some power grab.

Prius. About time you started believing.

Bruce Smith vs. Lawrence Taylor...who was better?
John Adams replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A Bills board is the only place where this debate even happens, let alone sides with Bruce. I love Bruce but he wasn't even better than Reggie White and he was certainly not LT. -

Need advise for buying a new TV.
John Adams replied to Huuuge Bills's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am sure that what you mean to say, Mr. Daschle, is that you are able to defer payment of those taxes until you file your state tax return, thus makling money on the interest accrued between the time of purchase and when you pay the taxes, which makes good sense. -
In fairness, Republicans have been singing the "We're doomed" song since women started showing their ankles and looking men in the eye. It's a tried and true way to hype up their concerns.

Obama admits we're headed for Depression
John Adams replied to Dwight Drane's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Hmm. Sounds a lot like Bush's "If you're not with us, you're against us" diatribes that got so much criticism. Maybe you caught this: http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jh...bamas-inaugural Starting to look more like the truth every day. -

Obama admits we're headed for Depression
John Adams replied to Dwight Drane's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Bring both sides together? Are you joking? You did notice that no Republicans voted with the stimulus in the House right? And that's likely to be repeated in the Senate? No one is coming together. Obama is ramming this bill down America's gullet without the careful consideration he promised. I'd much prefer a bill that set aside a trillion dollars and then had to revisit each of the spending proposals in that trillion dollars as its spent (like TARP constantly shifted ground) than this "Let's-come-up-with-ways-to-spend-a-trillion-bucks" in a month plan. This package is an outrage and even America is starting to turn on the package, although it will probably pass because Obama is so hell-bent on beating the "we're !@#$ed" drum. -
Obama admits we're headed for Depression
John Adams replied to Dwight Drane's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Are you just here because one of your predicted deadlines is approaching? Obama has to stop with all the doom-gloom stuff and be a strong confident leader. Right now he looks like a chicken with his head cut off saying the sky is falling (to mix chicken stories). -
The problem with TARP and even the president's bank scolding is this: THERE WERE FEW RULES in the TARP loan. That's not Obama's fualt unless he doesn't fix the TARP requirements, just like it's not Obama's fault that Daschle didn't pay taxes--unless he hires him.

What a stretch--from Obama has his tail between his legs over bad cabinet picks to banks are out of control...with no apparent link between them besides that they are in the same article.

For Simon, a "very average game" is the 2nd most yards in SB history and 3 TDs against the NFL'snumber 1 defense. I guess a good game is 500 yards and 7 TDs. He's sunk his own argument here.
