A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No he doesn't but I'd rather have him like he was yesterday than Thigpen. -
I'd say they are deeper at WR and RB than QB, C, LT, RT, LG, RG, LDE, RDE, ILB OLB, SS, FS, RCB, LCB, TE, K, and P. Pretty good depth at the other special terms positions.

Since when do the Black Panthers accept white guys? And where did he find Payne Stewart's scarf? -

You obviously didn't watch the video. I feel content in my pompousity over people who protest, well, because you just need to protest. -

The point is--he did beat them all. He came up with the system and using it, put together a top team for 1/3 the price. What he can't do is compete within the new system because he can't buy the players. When everyone is using the same system, the money wins. Moneyball. -

I get the impression most Tea Partiers have jobs, or at least don't live with their Daddy-uncles. The Tea Party is a large political movement with a pretty specific set of goals. The "Occupy" city_name movement is a handful of people who have never paid income tax except when they worked at the local water ice stand that summer, and who are out with no other priority than "against corporations." But for some reason, these dolts are getting a ton of press, and like moths to the flame, other dolts will probably join them to mate and produce other dolts. -

If I was near the protesters, I might be tempted to go Deputy Inspector Tony Boloney's route and pepper spray anyone in my general vicinity. -

Isn't the point that the As changed baseball that year. Once they looked at players as numbers, more than this "compact swing" and "graceful" BS, the way teams looked at players changed. Now, a good numbers player is still going to cost you, and so he's going to NY. Boston, Philly, Atlanta, etc. Beane couldn't keep his system a secret--it's just that he was the GM credited with testing it out, and it worked. Now that everyone is using some variant of it, he's back to being a team that has 1/3 the budget of the Yankees and no shot at winning. My favorite scene, by the way, is when Beane goes against the numbers and realizes that good numbers or not, Jeremy Giambi is a tool and trades him to Philly. I hoep to god it played out just like they showed in the movie though it probably did not. -

Eagles are set to put up sick offensive numbers Sunday. Bills offense better come to play. Could be a 500 yard day from the iggles. -

"Quiet political discussions continued around the sleepers. One woman gave a pep talk to what looked like a new recruit. “It’s about taking down systems, it doesn’t matter what you’re protesting,” she said. “Just protest.”" I wish I didn't have a job and could go protest vegetarianism. -

How so? I am neither violent nor advocating violence. I have not acted out on my desire to wedgie all the protestors. Nor have I gone down and forced them to get a job at gunpoint. I have not gone into their parent's basements and kicked them out onto the streets. I didn't put their fingers in vice grips and make them login to Monster dot com and submit their resumes. I didn't tie them in waterproof cording and force them to bathe and shave before heading to an interview. Once in said interview, I haven't bolted their mouth shut and expressed thanks and gratitude for even considering them for the job as Wendy's Assistant Manager. None of these things have I done. So how have I not been peaceful. -

I couldn't make it through all the stupid. Why are they holding "Honk if you have student loans" signs? Are they against the loans they voluntarily took out? What a bunch of !@#$ing tools. I am so thankful for the huge loans I took out. They allowed me to go to school, work full time, and have a reasonable standard of living. Without my loans, I would have been scraping by tooth and nail while I was in school--I made the choice to not do that and live a little more decently. My choice--and paying back the loans is the consequence. Suck it up you whiney bitches. If you don't want loans, go to a more affordable school, or no school, you dumbasses. -

Just like the "god hates fags" people. Not questioning their right to be douchebags. Just pointing out the douchebaggery. -
Turns out that when you set up a system that reimburses caregivers 100% for the services they provide, the providers try to maximize their profits by providing the most profitable services. Shocking I tell you! http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204612504576606791708892886.html?mod=WSJ_hp_LEFTTopStories

A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In an early part of the game, they showed Fitz on the sideline looking at photos and flexing his hand, wincing. I noticed it at the time but didn't really think about it once he came back. You were right though: He was off. Not so bad that he was Losman or anything, but just off enough that it hurt them. Hopefully it was just a bruise or jammed finger and nothing more. Look for reports this week. Where did Moats go? Did he get off the juice? He was a playmaker last year and he's hardly on the field this season? OLBs have been invisible so far. -
Maybe we should call it the "get a job slackers" movement. Maybe we should give them a golden parachute. And a bath. http://www.boston.co...gHpI/index.html

A Few Thoughts About The Game
John Adams replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure I agree with any credit to the D-line. Dareus made a few plays that no one on this team has been able to make fro a decade. Kelsay was something in the first half. In the second, there was no penetration and the linebackers filled no holes. Bengals owned the Bills when it mattered. Bills offensive line was terrible most of the game. Few holes for Jackson and Fitz was getting knocked around a lot, more in the first half than the second. Agree re Bell: Rinehart didn't do anythign terribly wrong in the one series or so he played but not feeling confident about him for a whole game. Biggest concern has to be the Bills defensive front 7. They are not getting much done through 4 games. Offense was off but that can happen, and the Bengals deefnse made few mistakes--it seemed like every first tackler Jackson saw took him down. Fantastic tackling team. McKelvin is a fine dime back. Williams and McGee: Get well soon. -
Defense looks horrible every week. Really a concern. Offense not good today either. Hype machine now shutting down.
-
Still defending the d line? Yup.
-
All season. Let's hope they get it right now.
-
Do it right D.
-
Oh boy. In e hands of the defense.
-
Bell is out. Not great.Announc ers had said the Bills used a timeout on Bell injury but they were wrong.
-
Been exposed every game so far. Saw that draw coming a mile away.
