"Nothing should be off the table. Every federal agency, every government program and expenditure must be reviewed and revised with a keen eye and a red pen. Leaders should be willing to shrink budgets by target percentages, and those charged with implementing those changes must be held accountable." I wonder if he's the only Republican candidate willing to cut the military.

I still can't tell if this guy is for real but he certainly has an excitement about him. In what is shaping up as a populist war, Cain's got a much stronger position than Romney and Perry (is he still around?). Cain seems to be taking the "Capitalism is good, now stop whining and start working" argument that the other candidates are afraid of. I'm not sure if 9-9-9 works but it at least is aimed towards simplifying things. Unlike hair-Romney, Cain has a populist appeal that counter's Obama's similar appeal. It will be interesting to see what skeletons start surfacing. One challenge with these career non-politicians is that they've never been vetted.

Because she ate food on a cooking show. Look at Michelle Obama. Look at the population. Tell me who has an eating problem.

The occupy Wall Street movement spreads

Good for Ed. I'll have to swing by City Hall tomorrow and check them out. I've been avoiding them but it's always fun to take a trip to the zoo. Smell the sh1t, see the unwashed animals in their primitive habitats. I should drop off a case of non-Aluminum oxide based deodorant. -

A Few Thoughts About The Game

I actually saw Merriman getting into the backfield a few times yesterday. Not saying he was anything special but more than once, he was breaking the pocket down. But a true 3rd QB doesn't count on the roster for game day. So having Smith in games costs a roster spot. I have no love for Evans but he's been out. -
? That was an incredible play by the dogkiler.

I have to wonder whether Jobs would have played this up more. Voice activation Apple style might finally be something to work with. Most voice activation is beyond cumbersome. http://www.youtube.c...d&v=rNsrl86inpo

You were banned? You musta misbehaved. -
Interesting take. They are making the show episodic and not serial. I have no interest in seeing what mischief these rascally kids can get themselves into and out of in a 40 minute story arc. But I guess that's what they decided to appeal to in the show. It's closer to Land of the Lost than LOST. Not for me. Glad Walking Dead is back soon.

All spot on. Sending people on a one way trip into the past 85 million years is a premise that just works. The execution has been beyond awful. How much money was spent on the scene where the purple dinosaur is heading for the little girl? Lots. Wasted. Why not leave Avatar guy and the dad in the forest until next episode? Where'd they go? What'd they run into? Instead it's run back for prehistoric sex and make sure his shirt comes off again ala the world's most shirtless man, Sawyer. OR how about the people start dying in the forest from the attacks and that mystery is prolonged instead of being solved the second time the dad goes to check on the squaking? Rush, rush, rush. I'll probably watch next week because my family is out of town. After that, it will have to get a major buzz going to keep me interested.

Episode 2, worse than episode 1. This show is about off a cliff. Acting is poor. Episode 2 was totally self-contained and moved the plot nowhere--or at least not along any big arc that makes me interested. There remains nothing that has me curious about 85 million year old earth. Nothing mysterious. Nothing that has the people there super puzzled. Basically, they're all happy for sun and citrus, and oh yeah, there are some dinosaurs. Again: I can't believe they didn't leave the rock writing a mystery...that alone would have piqued my curiosity enough to hang in for a few episodes. But they already said it was written by a colonist. Even though the author of the writing, Avatar-dude's son, is kind of mysterious, it's not as interesting as finding secret writing 83 million years before homo-species. Just poorly done. Pretty lousy. I will give it 1-2 more episodes just because I like the overall idea and maybe the story will finally get traction. tgreg: Episode 1 was a rush and part of me forgives that since it was likely pressured to be that. But episode 2 was just a 1 hour dino hunt with the recurring theme that the parents want to bang each other. What the hell?

I'm with Magox. The Tea Party fringe that are children of daddy-uncles may be the right version of the unwashed "occupants" but the Tea Party has some order. These occupiers ahve no real agenda except to be against almost anything. It's an inclusive protest--if you have something you're against, join in.
