Lindell busted up; Rayner signed

A kick is more than a leg swing. -
No problems, the Wahmbulance is here. Did someone report bad behavior at an NFL game? Saying the F word? Horrifying!

My fellow Libertarians and I are scary
John Adams replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Easy there Cheech. I don't give a crap about drug laws and am all for legalization of anything you want. My point is that allowing legalization of pot to become your rallying cry dilutes a lot more important messages that the Libertarians could get traction on. In a practical Libertarian agenda, legalizing drugs should be on the list, but down it. But at every convention, the hemp T-shirts are everywhere. -
OWS throws Grandma down the steps
John Adams replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeah, no. I don't really care what happened to one woman so no, I haven't read any accounts of that story. Everything I said was in the context of this thread. Interestingly, even another poster quotes the woman as saying she didn't know what happened. And as I said, it wouldn't surprise me if the protesting idiots pushed her, on purpose or more likely, by accident. Don't assume my party just because I called you out for being wrong. -

KRC, a former mod here and occasional poster, has a great read on the problem with the Liberatrian Party (different from the philosophy). But in essense, it's disastrously disorganized. My criticism is that it gets bogged down in issues like pot that don't really matter, and also loves to tout its extreme solutions (shut down all welfare tomorrow), instead of recognizing that its goals (less government) have to be incrementally enacted. -
OWS throws Grandma down the steps
John Adams replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's a two minute video. When does she say that? I'll save you the time. She doesn't. BTW, I don't doubt that she got pushed. That video doesn't show jack squat about how she fell though. -
OWS throws Grandma down the steps
John Adams replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What if she was walking down the steps and turning her head to see the protesters, not paying attention to her next step? That is somehow the protester's fault? The video shows hey hey ho ho protesters. Then shows a woman who seems to have fallen. Then a guy shouting that corporate greed caused this. Then more hey hey ho ho. Linking the protesters to the fall is a stretch. -

Doesn't seem clear who pushed her, if anyone pushed her. But it's fun to pretend you can tell and blame someone. -

The toad guy is an ass for having that as his avatar but that's the only place it exists. For a while, some short-bus-rider had a cat that moved. Another tool. But most respect the idea to keep the look clean--like anywhere, a few douches are around and try to ruin it. Black on white is how things get written and read. It's a worldwide standard. NY Times website? Fox website? Wall Street Journal? If you want purty colors, head on over to the Oprah message board. I hear you can write in pumpkin script on a chartruse stationary. Enjoy sailor. Great to have you guys here. -
Rep Jackie Speir to Live on Food Stamps for a Week

A weeks worth of lettuce isn't sustainable nutrition. He said you could eat well on $30 a week. I'd like to see that shopping list. -

Dev here is the guy who proves the point. Would you trust a guy with a stupid avatar like his to post images? And he's not the worst by far...he's just smart enough to know how to use an animated gif to annoy everyone. -

See how clean this place looks, without pictures and photo signatures mucking up the posts? We like it that way. Buffalo Range permits all kinds of images and photos. It's myspace meets a 14-year-old-girl's-bedroom wall meets your high school locker. An excellent look if you like that sort of thing. Submit your complaint to a mod. They like hearing that one. -

The occupy Wall Street movement spreads

Greek president rescinds call for referendum vote. God what a tool. Can we just ship all the OWS protestors to Greece and let them all form whatever society they see fit, as long as they don't leave the island? -

The Tea Partiers got plenty of soft press, while the blogs and second level of press cut through to the hick racists. For OWS, the press is mostly downplaying the violence though, which is baffling. I walked upstream through a protest yesterday in Philly. I looked every bit the corporate enemy since I had a meeting. No one did anything besides direct their "What do we want" chant answer of "equality" in my direction. Maybe 2-300 people. Hippie/homeless leaders, some students, and a few people on their lunch break who just decided to go along for free pot brownies. -

In fairness to at least this point, there has been a lot of coverage of the asshattery of these protestors. -

Magox, you asked it here first but I'm hung up on it today: Why were the Tea Party rallies, which were so much bigger, not filled with violence like these protests? "Mostly peaceful" makes it into all the stories today...along with broken windows, M80 launchers, throwing bottles, breaking into a building, people locked in stores for fear of safety, others not being able to go to work...and 40 arrests. Sorry, that's a violent protest. -

Agree with Dante. The OWS thing is tiny compared to its rival Tea Party rallies, and it has no goal, agenda, or theme besides "I want what I don't have." That and "let's break some windows." -
Scott Norwood to be in attendance on Sunday
John Adams replied to SHOUTBOX MONSTER!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you're a total dick, you boo him. He missed a 47 yard field goal on grass in a kicking era where a 50 yarder was very long. He was 2 for 10 from 50 plus in his career so 47 was a damn long kick for him. It was not a choke. It was an important miss. Bill Buckner choked.
