  1. !@#$ these people. At least Obama and Boehner seem to get it. http://www.freep.com...ebt-panel-fails
  2. Walking Dead emphasizes to me how bad the acting in LOST always was and how often they threw away episodes for no reason. Dead is tightly written with excellent actors. So far there has been no Hispanic Cop, Hurley's girlfriend, and other meaningless stupid detours.
  3. Levitre is the best lineman but your point is well taken.
  4. Yeah, why can't they fix the defense in one year? Losers.
  5. I couldn't bump this enough.
  6. Can I just say that DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry is the greatest username in the history of this board?
  7. Wow. I have a ton of Jewish friends and have never heard a single one use any of those terms--and would be completely stunned if they did. Jewish people are pretty sensitive to racial epithets.
  8. Perry was falling before last night but that gaffe in the age of youtube is probably the end of him. Cain got laughed at by the Republican audience every time his 9-9-9 plan came up and he's bogged down in mudslinging that is hurtning him. Romney is the only guy consistently in the 1 or 2 slot. In any event, it looks like Newt might be the big winner, as he's got a brain and has stayed out of the fray until now. But he's got way too much baggage to get the nod. Looks like the Republican nomination is Romney's to lose, which means an easy Obama win.
  9. In 1970, the House reelection rate was the same as 2010. The Senate reelection rate has been lower than 2010 many times, including 2008 and 2006. 2010 was not a watershed year. Maybe in 2012, we'll get 83% reelection. A real bloodbath.
  10. 87% House incumbents won in 2010. 84% Senate. Pretty much on average historically. Used, abused without clues, I refused to blow a fuse. They even had it on the news. You my friend believed the hype.
  11. The most shocking thing is that Eddie Murphy quit over insulting gays, and he didn't do it himself. Eddie, probably not safe for work but crank it up and give it a shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2EIra4SYoE
  12. There hasn't been much turnover at a federal level. It's just not happening. People don't vote out their own garbage officials.
  13. Incumbents roll My dead horse on this is almost dust at this point but people do not vote for challengers. They like things the way they are. Obama will roll in 2012 and the Democrats will likely not lose much ground (nor gain much) in Congress.
  14. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I see better behavior these days at Bills games than in 1990. Concerts, about the same. Maybe the only significant difference is that drug use was higher in the 90s, and language is higher now. Either way, your 16 year old was fine.
  15. I renewed my passport online. There are a million things I can do online that threaten security.
  16. What the hell? Is it that hard to set this up?
  17. Considering how the Republican primary looks like it's just hopping from flavor of the day to flavor of the day, sure, why not Jon Huntsman for a while. The only person who seems to stay in the mix at the top is Romney. Pretty safe bet that Romney, who is the most centrist of all the Reps, gets the nod.
  18. Put together a committee with half Dems, half Reps...and America gets to see that no one can work together to solve this critical issue. It's almost like they forgot how this committee was formed in reaction to what some experts thought was an apocalyptic event. Today's election day, sadly not for any of these clowns. Vote incumbent if you like your government.
  19. There is no chance that the Republican party, which is also strongly tied to its extremes, will dominate for 20 years. The Republican Part's answer to Democratic tax and spend economics has been to spend and spend (see Bush). Unless they show they have the stomach to make actual big time cuts, and deal with a lot of bad consequences of doing so (driving up unemployment), they are just offering up different flavors of the same plans as Dems. Someone mentioned yesterday that just about the only politician who can change the way things are done are single term ones. The American public would be mortified by a hard cut on spending and what that would mean short term.
