Capital letter: A. Lower case letter: a. Capital letters help the reader, by calling attention to the start of a new thought, or proper noun. Mistakes happen. Mispellings occur. Grammar and usage may not be perfect. But hitting the shift key is a common courtesy. Failure to do it doesn't make you cool, a new age e.e. cummings, or interesting. It makes you a self-centered dick.

I can't imagine young people are about to change their minds and be against gay marriage by age 40. That's like saying, in the 60s, you expected young people who were for interracial marriage would grow up and be against it later in life. Younger people are just more tolerant of homosexuality. That's not something older people (generally) ever were. That's the change that's coming. It's just a matter of time before we put this embarrassing chapter behind us.

Or...a different state.

Don't underestimate that if the dollar strengthens due to EU problems and gas comes down, that will work in Obama's favor.

Nationwide, Dems and Independents support gay marriage...Repubs oppose. Old people against. Young for. The demographics of those for and against are in no way surprising.

Meh. The old people will die and the US will get it right eventually. The trend nationwide is moving quickly in support of gay marriage. It'll happen sooner or later. My favorite from that list: " If twitter is accurate, North Carolina passed a law that they are ass*&%s."

Jobs paid Xerox a million dollars to visit PARC and get a tour of the technology. A million bucks in the 80s for a tour. The Xerox engineers were freaked out and knew that "tour" meant that Jobs et al. would take the tech. Jobs even got to see early windowing concepts that they took and improved. The famous line is that Jobs offered Xerox 1M to "open its kimono." So, you better bet they paid for it. And you better bet that Xerox was stupid.

I don't understand how this falls into the media bias issue. Curry seems to be saying that it works to Mitt's advantage to woo the middle and independents by distancing himself from the far right, and it would hurt Obama to abandon the far left. I disagree with her premise because I think the looney left votes for Obama no matter what, but how is this left-wing media conspiracy related?

This thread was about Romney's ability to woo independents based on his willingness to cave to his extreme. It's not about his position on this specific issue. Gay marriage won't be a hot issue in this cycle unless someone dramatically changes their stance....[uPDATE: Maybe it will be a hotter issue as Obama's education secretary just came out in favor...sounds like camp Obama is putting pressure on the top dog to change his position.)

Obama and Romney have similar enough stances that it's not an election year issue. Both are pussies. Romney believes in civil unions but won't say it any more. Obama believes in gay marriage but won't say it--he's "evolving."
