Can someone explain Lamar Jackson to me? I don't understand how a QB who is not a consistent passer is considered a great QB.

We're going to have to spy Lamar most of the game, probably with Milano. I'm really concerned with their TEs, as our nickels have not shown that they can cover big pass catchers. This was the one matchup I didn't feel good about coming in to the playoffs. Their Defense is good enough to force poor throws and Josh is prone to taking sacks for big losses at times.

I agree with him, this was not a great game for us defensively. The offense really wasn't clicking all that much for us either. Josh had to run the ball way too much this game just to push the offense down the field. Worrisome game headed into the Baltimore one.

Depth signing to round out the practice squad in case we advance further into the playoffs. Beane is using the weird PS rules to our advantage.

I tend to agree with a theory posited by Rapsheet on Pat McAfee's show the other day - Pederson would not have dug his heels in if he did not have a good idea that he had HC options elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised to hear he signs as HC somewhere he as connections without a lot of heads up.

Ravens and Chiefs were the two teams I was unenthusiastic about playing. That said, if you want to win championships you're going to have to beat these teams to earn it, so I'm not going to complain that we have to earn it.

I was so bummed when I saw the Steelers give their game away. I can't stand the hype around Lamar, but they are a scarier team to play than the Steelers. Meh.

If that were to happen I doubt it would be against the Colts. The Colts defense's strength is the run game and their secondary is weak so I would expect our WRs will be busy this week.

I don't think Darnold is a bad QB. He had his career screwed by a terrible coach. He was never plug and play like people said, he just needed some development. I still think he could be a good QB. Hope the Jets trade him and he pulls a Tannenhill in the NFC.

Yes, I read all 6 lines. It's the same what if scenario post that we used to see all the time when we stunk ie "what if we traded up and got Big Ben instead of JP Losman" except this one posits it would be fun to speculate if we would still be good. We would be different, no way to know how. Most likely worse, since the very specific combination of things that lead to a good QB can't be predicted. Maybe if we drafted Mahomes he wouldn't have been all world because the system-coach-coordinator marriage wasn't the perfect combo that led him to being what it is. These threads are an exercise in futility.
