  1. Yeah I agree McShay's reasoning is wrong and i don't love the pick. But outside of TE/CB I don't see a rookie 2nd rounder coming in and playing more than 40% of snaps anywhere on the roster. DE and RB are needs, but I don't see the talent in this draft at those positions to unseat the players we have starting currently. Oliver needs to be given the opportunity to step up and earn his 5th year option, I still think he can do that with a rookie playing behind him. We need better quality competition on the Dline, so I wouldn't complain about drafting a backup in the 2nd and 3rd. Phillips may be one of the only DEs we could draft that might have a shot at starting for us.
  2. I think my post was unclear. I believe they would have him spell Ed Oliver with the odd turn at 1-tech if there were an injury so we don't have to slide Oliver over. Remember we should have both Phillips and Star back this year. I wouldn't draft Onwuzurike to play 1-tech. I do believe they would move him around though when the situation calls for because Beane loves players who are multiple.
  3. He played plenty of 1-tech at Washington, played 3-tech as well as 5-tech too, but he's versatile and strong. I don't love the pick because I'd rather get a big body like Shelvin in the 3rd and Beane made a comment about getting bigger on the line so I think he agrees. But I don't think Onwuzurike is a bad pick, we rotate out DL a lot and would be a replacement for Vernon Butler, not Ed Oliver.
  4. Way happier with how this draft fell. Ojulari would be a dream in the 1st, the more I think about Melinfowu (you can see in my mocks I'm locked in on him) the more I like him. Melinfowu can rotate in at CB2 and has the ability to play Big Nickel and immediately upgrading us at that position. He has the size and length to shut down TEs. Shelvin - because we need a young 1-tech badly, McDermott likes to rotate the entire DL and we will not have Phillips and Star both on the team next year. Stevens is an understudy at safety and can also play Big Nickel should Melinfowu win CB2 outright (I think he could). Iowa WR is speedy, has return ability and will likely fall a little bit because he got popped for a DUI last year. He's McKenzie on gadget plays with a little more speed. Eubanks can compete at TE2 and has the tools to win that position. Borland - special teams pretty much, it's the 7th rd.
  5. Jumping on this Tik Tok trend a little late. You could tell Josh and Stefon were immediately aware of what he was doing; still enjoyed it though.
  6. Sad thing about this is that his talent will ensure that the league tries its hardest to sweep this under the rug even if it is true.
  7. The draft is a crapshoot. Trading 3 first rounders and missing on a QB pretty much dooms the team for 4 years and gets the FO fired. That said, if you don't have a QB you likely just wind up somewhere in the middle, just making or missing the playoffs and not advancing beyond the wild card - that's about as likely to get a FO fired.
  8. Someone paid millions of dollars to put their name on a stadium that most will continue to refer to as "the Ralph." Ok.
  9. So... yeah I'm fairly sure he did this now after reading the SI article. Gross.
  10. https://nypost.com/2020/05/15/deandre-baker-could-be-headed-for-commissioners-exempt-list/ Evidently you're right. I didn't think players were getting paid while on the list, but I guess they do.
  11. I think I'm picking up on a trend here but I want to be sure. If BPA is DE, who do you take?
  12. I strongly believe Horn will be gone top 15 and Meinerz by rd 3
  13. Completely against trading up. The greatest positions of need we have are DE, DT, CB. The strength of this draft is in its depth at those positions. We need to pick up extra picks in the 3rd or 4th rd and pick up some young players with upside. Tyler Shelvin, Alim McNeil, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Hamsah Nasirildeen, Dyami Brown, Shawn Wade, Israel Mukuamu, Shakur Brown, Trill Williams, Paulson Adebo, Tyree Gillespie - all these players could help us immediately and they are all going rds 2-4. I'd rather pick up 3-4 of these guys rather than trade up and lose a chance at them.
  14. I don't know what TDN was smoking, but I'll take it. No way either my first 2 picks will be around for our picks.
  15. Sam's stock is the lowest it's ever been. You can draft a 1st rd QB and let him sit for a year and try to rehab Darnold's trade value.
  16. Super happy for Lil Dirty, he's severely underrated.
  17. Circumstantial evidence alleged in the ESPN report should be pretty easy to corroborate - just get copies of the texts from Watson and IG messages.
  18. Ok for argument's sake let's remove the current allegations from discussion and just talk about Person A - a celebrity who has money and Person B - someone who gives massages, whether sports or regular. How is Person B supposed to prove that anything was done in an instance where they were coerced into a handy? Any physical evidence could be written off as a consensual act, after all Person A is a celebrity. Person B knows that going to the police will simply open them up to Person A's legal team eviscerating them in public should the allegations come to light. Person B goes to a lawyer and is told that the standard for a criminal case is beyond a reasonable doubt, which is much higher than the civil standard of preponderance of the evidence (more likely than not, the incident happened).
  19. He might drop a little bit due to off the field stuff, he did have a DUI last November
  20. Making a lot of assumptions in this post. I'll respond despite my disregard for posts rife with poor spelling and grammar. No interest in the Donohoe Bills and you will not see me running around the board losing my mind that we didn't get Watt or some other big-name FA. We do, however still have work to do on this roster. DE is a position of weakness and we have not improved. You can't go into a year saying "we were not good last year, but COVID so we will be better next year." DE is not going to be solved with the 30th pick in the draft, you're not going to get an instant 8+ sack kid in this group that late. You're poking holes at my statement while adding a throwaway comment that "a few more vets will be brought in," which is pretty much what my comment is about so I'm not sure exactly what you're saying. We need to pick up a starting DE before the draft, we can draft someone to compete for CB2 early as well as a 1 tech and a big nickel. Would be nice to fill 2 of those needs now, but we can't do that while being right on the line of being over the cap. Lot more work to be done.
  21. Gets a bit frustrating seeing other teams who were against the cap still signing guys while we play the fiscally responsible team. I would think that you prioritize winning over cap when you're in the middle of your window.
  22. Melinfowu and Shelvin - I care more about getting those 2 guys than whoever our 1st rounder is
