He is neither a WR1 nor an X, which is what we need. -

Jet's probably called and said "we have an offer for a team who wants a QB, match it or we trade" and the Vikes panicked to make sure they got their guy -

I didn't think we would be able to get up to get Odunze, this is best case scenario for us with him going to the NFC club right before the Jets picked him -

Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one

LOL Bill Belichick on McAfee just pooped on everyone's dreams here. "It's unrealistic to think you're going to jump from 24-3" -

Would I enjoy a high trade up, sure! Would I be happy seeing all those picks just disappear so our next pick is on Saturday? Probably not. -
McAfee Draft Spectacular Show Featuring Bill Belichick

I don't get people who hate McAfee. Indifference I can understand. The only people in sports media I dislike are Skip and Wright. Everyone else I treat with varying levels of interest or indifference. The guy's not out there actively trashing the Bills or anything like that. -

The poster was suggesting making a trade up where our next pick would be in the 5th round. I didn't poo poo the idea of a trade up, I criticized his terrible trade offer. -

You're right of course, we have such an excellent pass-rush full of young players who will be here a long time. Oh wait, we barely have enough halfway decent DTs and DEs to fill a room and most of them are old. At least we have options at LG and C in the event the guys expected to start there don't play well, right? -

Yeah we don't need young players on the team, let's just not draft at all. This is awful -

Hendrickson is demanding a trade, just sayin... -
I would take Legette at 28, not McConkey.

We moved up to 7 to draft a franchise QB. I don't get the moving up to the top 6 to draft a WR when the hit rates are uncertain. I would stick and pick and then trade out of the 2nd to wind up with 2 3rds since you're getting the most value in this particular draft in that round. -
I have Legette above both Mitchell and Thomas, who are simply part of tier 2.

Media Day at OBD (Beane, McDermott, Josh & more)
ndirish1978 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are 3 top receivers and then everyone else. Getting someone in the top 4 isn't worth a trade up if you're getting the 4th guy. -
Shorter was on IR last year and hasn't given anyone reason to believe he can be a contributor, he was talking about Shakir. As far as "trying too hard", I dunno what else people would expect him to say about the WR room "we're screwed, I traded for a narcissist who whined his way off the team and now we are desperate to land a player in the draft. We will pay a premium for him. Oh please, please fleece us because we're desperate." Outside of the top 3 WRs in this draft you have Javon Baker and Legette that are true X receivers who look like they could develop into all-around players - you are likely looking at rd 2 for Legette and 3 for Baker, then you have a bunch of solid guys like Worthy, McConkey and Mitchell and a bunch of others who can play specific roles. We will pick up 1-2 of these guys and develop them. Dline may be the bigger target in the 1st because the talent is thin and drops off a cliff after the top 3-4 players.

What would we give then THIS YEAR that would prompt them to make that trade? Our 1st and 2nd followed by next year's 1st and 2nd? So we pick one guy and then don't pick again til the 4th rd in this draft?
-
Just looking at the teams behind us I could see the next 10 picks take him, especially the Ravens, so I'm going to advise you that mock draft sites are pretty much just video games only they don't have the benefit of actual information to base their metrics on. I don't see Legette touching the 2nd rd.
