I love soccer. Grew up far from ice skating rinks so I'm not really into hockey. I mean the games are about as similiar as swimming and highdiving. People think cause you score goals in a net it's the same type of thing. Nothing could be further than the truth. Do I think Hockey guys are tough? Hell yeah. Do I think they are tougher than soccer players. Yes, the men fight for fun. They're tougher than football players too. But please don't find some random clip and expect me to accept that soccer players are wimps. Have you ever been cleated in the chest so hard you have permanent impressions in your chest? My teamate in high school did. Would you run up to a ball than had just been kicked 80 yards, jump up and stick your head in there while getting elbowed in the eye? It's fine with me if you say hockey guys are tougher, just please don't call soccer players anything less than tough athletes. You want ot watch real soccer don't watch the US crud, which is unfortunately based ont he Dutch style of play which is quick passing. Watch any Italian Series game and you should see a couple of guys get screwed up. Anyway. Go soccer, go hockey, go football- Long Live Sport!

This is strictly sentimental for my Domers. Anthony Fasano- 3rd- The kid is the total package. He can catch (remember the play Charlie called for the kid who died from the goaline? Pass right? Fasano is the one who broke it for a big gain. Not a down the field threat, but VERY dangerous in the intermediate routes. Good hands. Solid Blocker. Higjh Character guy. Rashon Powers Neal-6 rd- he's a gamer. He would have played more for us but had a lapse in judgment. The guy is a good guy, easy to talk to, he doesn't have character issues, trust me. Dude can block but can carry in the red zone. We sed him cause our RB wasnt that big. Maurice Stovall- 3 rd- Hands like they got stick-em on them. Leaper, very dangerous in the red zone. He's tall 6'5. High character guy Brady Quinn (who ate lunch next to me yesterday) rd 1 Buffalo Bills 2007

I mean wouldnt you rather save a pick we WOULD have spent on the OL to get someone who started games already on a pretty decent line? -
teams looking to trade up for OL help might overlook us. I wouldnt mind getting Reyes, drafting a 3rd rd G and letting him push Villarial for the starting spot. Personally I'd like ot go G in the 2nd and take Deuce, he's a massive man.

Bills have more needs than quality draft picks
ndirish1978 replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I say we have "serious" needs at LT, DT and LG. Our D definately needs a DT but once Spikes went out we lost the heart of our Defense. Our offensive strategy must have been just not making mistakes and letting our D bail is out cause we were good for a couple years. Once the D imploded the season was over. I think Peters will make a good RT. Fowler will be decent under C. Villarial has a couple years in the tank of being serviceable. Plug 2 holes and keep Duke as an interior replacement and I'd give the offense a shot if our QB could just make reads and hit the open guy. I like Nall. I watch the packers a lot and I've seen him play (yeah I know it was limited). He never got a fair shake in GB and I think he could be a serviceable starter for us. Again, this is not gonna be a breakthrough year, but i think we could win 6-7 games and have a solid foundation to build on. I like Deuce from USC in rd 2 being the guy to play the other G. If Brick fell to us we could field a decent line. 3rd round picks? DT and S/OL. 4th, S/WR. We could wind up with 4 players (rds 1-3(2 3rd picks)) actually contributing for us this season and a few other providing depth. I WOULD like an upgrade at S though. Anyone heard of any possible June 1 cuts? -
So to sum up... you like everything and this message board is out of touch with real fans. Funny how most of your posts offer no insight whatsoever while managing to accomplish nothing more than ripping on the board in general. Do you actually enjoy posting here or is therapy just too expensive?

Results talk and BS walks. He didn't re-sign the guys he needed to re-sign and he ignored the OL for too long. I really don't fault the signings he did make, but in the day to day operations he failed. We jad back to back coaches that couldn't coach their way out of a paper bag and no oline. 'Nough said. Take a breath and relax Zeff, it's the internet.

FWI... Per NFL Network...Texans to take...
ndirish1978 replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah that's the way to be a good GM, bring in the #1 pick in the draft to be your change of pace back. 6M/yr for someone who you don't even start more than half the downs. Wait.... are you Tom Donahoe? -
Excellent post. All that hype in the offseason failedto produce on the field. TD=Keyshawn, a lot of talk and not a lot of results.
-
In a move that baffled everyone today, the Buffalo Bills selected Marcus Vick with the 8th pick in the 2006 draft. "Hey, I'm just smarter than everyone," commented DonaHO "We felt like we knew who we wanted and we went out and got him, the draft was so deep ,we knew this move would turn some heads considering he was predicted to go in the 6th but that's just how deep the draft. The talet pool is so even we don't really pay attention to rounds, we just go out there and get our guy. We didn't want to let someone else get him." In another DonHO story, the risk-taking GM pitched a proposal to save the team money by paying them in Canadian Dollars. When asked about it DonHO replied: "There's nowhere in their contracts that says the dollars have to be American, I spotted that loophole because I'm a genius."

Dick Jauron hasn't coached a single down for us. Marv hasn't completed a single offseason and you're all dumping on him. So I'm wondering HOW MANY GAMES DO WE HAVE TO WIN IN ORDER FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO LOG ON HERE AND NOT HAVE EVERYONE SCREAMING FOR BLOOD?

Deuce Lutui will never be around in the 3rd rd.

Is it worth it to trade Clements

The schmuck who wrote that article is the same one who reported "inside sources" saying we were shopping Losman on the open market. He's a moron. -
Huff and Davis won't be there at 8
ndirish1978 replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oakland is much more likely to draft Cutler because he is much better than Young at throwing the deep ball. They didn't go out and get Moss to have him run deep routes only to turn around 20 yards downfield and realize Young is running. You think I'm wrong? With the exception of TO and McNabb, who lasted 1 year together with all that tension, what other scrambling QB in the league now has top tier receivers? -
You know what, forget our needs.
ndirish1978 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean that's ideal .The problem is that it leaves us starting scrubs and creating depth at other positions. 3 6s play better than a 10 and 2 4s just because you create huge gaps on the field. I wish we could just draft the best players available. Honestly, this draft is deep enough at OL and DL that we could just take the best player available and still fill our holes. -
I love Stovall in the 4th. I'd take him over every receiver on our team right now other than evans of course. I really wish we hadn't re-signed Josh Reed.

We could get the Best at 3 Positions

http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/mock_draft.htm This is an interesting take on Bunkley. I link them not because I think they are the most authoritative site, but because it's an interesting perspective, it seems intelligent and we haven't really talked about Bunkley being so similar to Triplett. I'm thinking Huff now even thoughI don't like S as much as like a Justice. -
Disclaimer: This is meant merely for conversation. I obviously like Young but the question for discussion here is not whether you would like us to draft Cutler or Young, merely which one you think will be a better NFL qb. Play-I like Young because he's a gamer. He steps up in pressure and finds a way to win. The kid has a good arm and great mobility. I could care less about what some test score is, I care about how he passes the test on the field and this kid has passed with flying colors. Cutler can make a lot of throws. He has great arm strength, decent mobility and good decision-making but while i feel like he will be a good NFL qb I think his hype is more of a product of the combine and post-graduation performance. I'm not taking anything away from him, I just think Young is a better QB. What's more, this league is a business. Young is going to be a star in this league because he's mobile and we all know mobile qbs are a magnet for media attention. After all that, I believe they will both be good NFL qbs, with Young having the slight edge just because he's a proven winner. Great players just get things done in the end. As a side note, Leinhart is the real deal. I've seen him play live (I was one of the unfortunate few who rushed the field at the ND game only to have my heart ripped out of my chest). That deep throw he made was in tight coverage and if you watch the replay he actually gets the ball in perfectly, passing over the crook in the cb's elbow by about 2 inches. He's cash in the bank. Public Relations- Getting media attention and having those color commentators wagging their tongues about a guy's play and his talent only makes a franchise more attractive for free agents. Look at the league as it is now. Payton and Brady are better than Vick and McNabb, but the media hype would have you think they were just as good. Some players have a certain panache around them that makes people stand up and take notice, they attract other players because they make them believe that they could lead them to victory in any given game. Intangibles like this make me want to believe in Young and I would want him on my team. He would not only make players around him better, he would get better players to want to be around him and come play for his team on both sides of the ball.

SO, where were all you tipsters with inside sources on THIS one? Soprano, you should have known something. Just goes to show yet again "inside sources" are a bunch of stevestojan.
