  1. Alright I'm hogging the picks so I'm done
  2. I've seen Cason going in the late 1st round in a few of the mock drafts. Most sites and draft magazines however have him ranked as a 2-3 round pick so I definitely don't see the Bills taking him at #11. By the way I found this from profootball weekly and found it to be pretty interesting. Don't know if it was already posted. Value Chart
  3. Jason Peters our Left Tackle scored a 9 on the Wonderlic, so I wouldn't put too much stock into the theory that offensive lineman MUST score well on the wonderlic. So if you want to remove guys who score lower than a 15 on the Wonderlic it means you risk taking off guys who may be great football players.
  4. Of course my (DREAM) scenario requires a ton of IF's and a trade partner who would be willing to trade up and have the picks to do so. I understand that and just figured I'd bring it up myself before someone flamed me for it.
  5. This years draft is rich with offensive tackles and one really good guard Branden Albert. Jason Peters is our man at LT. Langston Walker is decent and also signed a lucrative deal just a year ago so it would appear the tackle situation is taken care of. However, Langston Walker in all honesty is probably at best an average to slightly above average starting RT in this league. His pass blocking is better than his run blocking and by the start of next season he will have just turned 29. I know many offensive lineman play well into their 30's, but it seems teams are always thinking about getting younger as they should. I remember being at the Giants game this past season and watching Jason Peters go down. I am not 100% positive, but I believe the Peters injury sparked the turning point in the game. I believe we had the lead and hadn't given up a sack up to his injury. After the injury it was like watching an entirely different team offensively. Chambers struggled mightily (versus one of the best d-lines at least), but it showed how susceptible this team would be to an injury along the offensive line this season. We have virtually no depth at tackle, guard or center. With all that said I think addressing the offensive line early in this years draft would be a wise decsion. The downside is if we have a lot of other glaring holes so I'm not sure the team can draft an o-lineman that high. I really like Ryan Clady from Boise State, but I don't even think he'll last until our pick at #12. My dream scenario would be someone falls to our spot that a team in the back end of the first round covets. We could then move down to the late teens or early 20's and pick up and additional late 1st rounder or early second rounder. Under this scenario we would now have three picks in the top 41 or so picks. With these three picks we could target an OFFENSIVE LINEMAN a WIDE RECEIVER and a CORNERBACK. Here would be the candidates for each postion: O-Line: Branden Albert, Jeff Otah, Chris Williams, Gosder Cherilus, Sam Baker, Carl Nicks (obviously I left off Jake Long and Ryan Clady- assuming they won't drop to the 20's of the 1st round) Wide Receiver: Limas Sweed, Malcom Kelly, Devin Thomas, Mario Manningham, James Hardy (one of these receivers should dip until the end of the first or early second, which would be the Bills additional draft pick if they were able to trade down) Cornerback: Brandon Flowers, Antoine Cason, Patrick Lee, Reggie Smith, Tracy Porter (this would be our own second round pick #41 overall- I don't think Flowers or Cason would last this long, but if the Bills really coveted one of the two they could use their 3rd round pick to trade up and get one. So in this scenario the Bills go WR or OL with their first overall (whomever they have rated higher). Roughly 8-14 spots later (depending on who they trade down with) they draft whichever one they didn't draft with the first pick. And finally with the second round pick you take the cornerback....knowing you have your third round pick as ammunition to get up if you really want a guy who slips into the early part of round 2. My dream scenario: Pick #1: Devin Thomas/James Hardy (around #22) Pick #2: Branden Albert/Gosder Cherilus (late first) Pick #3: Brandon Flowers/Antoine Cason (late first or very early second rounder, which means we have to trade our 3rd round pick) How would you guys feel if this is where the Bills were sitting after day 1 of the draft? If you don't like it what changes would you make, and are there any offensive lineman and cornerbacks I may be overlooking??
  6. After watching this show live and hearing Faulk say one of our biggest needs is a better left tackle, I realized the guy does absolutely no research. Our LT is young and just made the pro bowl, did he watch one Bills game this year. Makes you wonder how much research Marshall does leading into his commentary.

  8. Acording to NFL Rules and what I've been eharing teams don't have the choice to amortize the bonus over the length of the contarct or acknowledge it all up front. according to the rules it must be amortized over the life of the contract. So even though the Bills look at it as all the bonus was paid this yera to Kelsay the books will show otherwise, becuase his bonuses will indeed be spread out over his 5 year contract. This is why I'm not in favor of cash to the cap: because we're going to acknowledge his full signing bonus this year, yet next year we'll still be acknowledging it because it will be on the books and will therfore count against the cap.
  9. This is from the website AskThe Commish.com: "Is there a Minimum Salary? Answer: Yep. Under the new CBA, the players are guaranteed 50% of Leaguewide Total Revenues. In the event that player costs are less that 50% of Total Revenues, then, on or before April 15 of the next League Year, the NFL shall pay an amount equal to such deficiency directly to the players. More specifically, beginning in 2006 each team had to pay a guaranteed Minimum Team Salary of 84% of the Salary Cap. Each year that percentage goes up by 1.2%, which means that it is 85.2% this season. However, the Minimum Team Salary cannot extend beyond 90% of the Salary Cap. Any shortfall in the Minimum Team Salary at the end of a league year has to be paid, on or before April 15 of the next league year, by the team(s) having such shortfall, directly to the players who were on that team's roster at any time during the season. Now you know why some of the smaller market owners had issues with the new CBA!" Given this piece of information it means the Bills must spend 85.2% of the cao towards the 2007 roster. The cap for the '07 season is slated for $109 million, 85.2% of $109 milllion equals $92.868 million. According to this rough estimate of how much we are under the cap....we are currently $39.7 million under which puts our current cap number at (109-39.7). This equals $69.3 million. In order to get to the minimum each team must spend ($92.868 million) we HAVE to spend $23.7 million this year in free agency and through the draft. I know this is a bit confusing, but basically what I said is: According to the piece of information about the minimum a team must spend we have to spend approximately $23.7 million. That's still a good chuck of change and means at leats a few big players should be signed. I'm still confused with what Levy meant when he said "CASH AGAINST THE CAP". If anyone knows and can explain that would be great.
  10. Yea, that is a very valid point. I'm just more dissapointed with the fact we lost a huge game.
  11. Here's the main question I had fter watching the game. Why was the wind in our face in the 4th quarter. The Titans received the ball to start the 2nd half, which means the Bills picked which end to defend. Obviously they chose to go with the wind in the 3rd quarter and have it in their face in the 4th quarter. I noticed they did the same thing vs the Dolphins last week and I wondered why a team would elect to give the opposing team the wind in the crucial 4th quater. Granted we made some plays in the 3rd quarter that we maybe wouldn't have had we had the wind in our face that quarter, but looking back on it not having the wind with us in the 4th was our staffs own choice. HUGE mistake not to have the wind with us in my opinion. Because you know Lindell is on the field for a 45 yard attempt if we were going the other way.......and maybe we're all talking about what a great win that was for the Bills. Damn what ba dissapointing loss, especially with all the other games going our way.
  12. Thanks for the replies thus far. I'm in Guilderland (about a mile west of the CrossGates Mall), so 'Toga mayb e a lil' far, but Jillians souns like a good idea.
  13. I'm a 21 year old season ticket holder who is a senior at the University at Buffalo. Normally I attend all the home games, but being that this game is on X-mas eve I'll be here in Albany for a night dinner party with all of my relatives. Does anybody have any suggestions on where I can watch the game. Zap2itnow.com shows that cbs will be showing the patriots jaguars game here in Albany so that means I have to go somewhere to see the Bills huge game this Sunday. I'm pumped for the game, but not so pumped about probably having to watch it in a crowded loud bar. I was home the weekend before t-giving and caught the Bills Texans game at the Side Door Cafe across from Crossgates. It was alright they had the game playin and all but small tv and not the best situation. If anybody has any suggestions i'd love to hear from you. Or even better yet if anyone had DirecTV and the sunday nfl ticket I'd be more thanwilling to pay you and watch the game with a fellow Bills fan (I realize that is asking a bit much though considering it's on x-mas eve, but just figured I'd throw that out there) Thanks to anyone who can help, I appreciate it.
