You still think I'm over reacting? You thinks it's a coincidence that Freddy sees 15 carries and Lynch sees 3, and our run game finally has some type of cohesivness. Today's O-ine was arguablly the worst of the season, but Fitz made a lot of good plays, and Freddy while not terriffic, did what he had to do. There is no way Lynch makes the catch that Freddy made (one handed grab) down in the redzone, that ultimately led to his first touchdown. With Freddy on the field our offense has the ability to get on a roll, moving the chains. With Beast Mode it's a lot of losses and no gains that lead to an awful lot of 3 and outs. Our team has a long way to go, no doubt, but moving forward we are a lot better off w/ Freddy as the starting RB. I stand by my word. Lynch blows, and this team is better off w/out him.

It is possible, especially if they pull out the win today. The difference between 5-11 and 7-9 is probably the 7-8 pick compared to the 11-13 pick, pretty big difference.

My opinion is based off of watching nearly everyone of his home games live in person and the rest on t.v. Next game try and zero in on Poz for a few series. Watch how many times he takes miststeps and is fooled by motion and misdirection. Hr constantly take himself out of plays by running in the wrong direction. If a LB has 8 tackles that does not neccesairly mean he played a solid game. Here are the facts on Poz yesterday: 1. He forced a fumble. Props. 2. Stonewalled every single time he blitzed. Not once did he even come remoterly close to breaking into the backfield. 3. On mulitple occasions took himself out of position by taking 2-3 steps away from where the run was going. 4. Slipped and was no where to be found as MJD crossed the goal line. Let me add he was unblocked on the play and should have prevented the TD. I will say this: Poz is easily replaceable in this defense. Kawika Mitchell, who isn't a great LB either is much mroe valuable because he's actually fairly good at something: blitzing. More often than not when Mitchell blitzes he at least generates some pressure on the QB forcing an early pass. When Poz blitzes, 95% of the time it generates absolutely nothing, not even a QB hurry. When his contract is up you will see how important the front office views Poz is to this defense. Unless he signs a very cheap and favorable contract for the Bills, he will be gone, along with Whitner and Lynch, 2 other players that are highly overrated on this board. I think a decade of non playoff teams, and really bad talent has skewed a lot of Bills fans into thinking very average players are actually good.
-
I'm with you 100%. I'm shocked at the number of people on this board who actually came away from yesterdays game thinkin Poz played a good game. With the exception of the forced fumble Poz was once again a below average, slow, oops I went the wrong way, oops I slipped at the goal line.....Linebacker. He's a liabiltiy in coverage, he's a liability when he's asked to blitz, he's a liabilitty when he's one on one vs. a TE or a RB, and he's a liability when he does make tackles because he's usually dreagged forward for another 2-3 yards. At best he's slightly below average, and for a guy that most think is one of our top defenders, that's pretty bad.

Poz has played very poorly this season. It's not a matter of debate really it's a fact. Bills fans that say Poz has played well for us this year either have rose colored glasses or don't know what is expected out of a MLB in the NFL. Just to fill you in, a quality starting LB does not consistently: take the wrong angle on RB's, slip in the hole when unblocked letting the RB walk into the endzone (see MJD touchdown run today), get stonewalled by every single OG and C when attempting to get pressure on the QB, get beat in coverage whether its across the middle, outside or deep middle, chase RB's from behind. Take a look at Poz today when he blitzed. It's like watching instant replay everytime he blitzes because the result is always the same thing. STONEWALLED. I don't know who to blame: Poz for not having any agility or power to get around or through the O-Lineman, or the coaches who continue to call on him to blitz when he is so ineffective in doing so.
-
PTR when you get a chance take a look at Poz's effort vs. MJD on his touchdown run. The guy falls over and he wasn't even blocked. Poz played awful in the first half and was decent but not great in the second. Second best player today you say? No way.

I'll tell you why: Because this team is as incompetent as they come. 3 and a half seasons of Dicky ball and practices has turned this team into a team that only knows how to lose. They will find anyway possible, make any possible mistake to just leave the average NFL fan thinking, "what the hell were they thinking". Fewell may not be as much a dud as Juaron, and at least showed some emotion today, but you can't expect things to change. He's learned under Dick's incompetence so I'd expect to see more of the same disgraceful clock managment from the Bills. There were multiple instances of totally unacceptable game management today, and it 100% cost us the game. Fitzpatrick had 270 yards passing with 10:00 left on the clock in the 3rd quarter. He finished with 297 yards meaning in our last 4 possessions we had 27 yards passing and generated no offense at all. Same old Bills, just a new coach to mange this crap. This team has become an embarrassment to root for on Sundays.

Bryan Scott in 2 games is a much better LB than Paul Posluszny is after nearly 3 seasons. Poz's lack of athleticism is evident each and every week and he is nothing above a below average MLB in the NFL. Have not been happy with his play at all this season and don't think he played particularly well today. On Maurice Jones Drew lone TD run, Poz was unblocked, instead of meeting MJD in the hole he waited for MJD to come to him. he took a false step to the outside, slipped and Jones Drew walked in. Any decent backer comes in and makes the hit on the the halfback preventing the TD in that situation. If you don't believe me just take a look back at the play.

Couldn't agree more, he looks out of shape and much too heavy. I'd love to see a new strength and conditioning coach, are team is a mess physically. Out of shape guys get hurt much more than in shape guys. I think it's showing this season. Camp Juaron really helped keep these players in shape and ready for the NFL season!

I don't hear Donte calling out the offense tonight.
Estro replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Add Whitner to the list of guys who's done absolutely nothing to help this team win the last 3 years. All he does is yap yap yap. Message to Whitner: You are riding the pine in place of an undrafted converted wide receiver. Keep your mouth shut and try to play like a 1st round talent. Can't wait for this guy to be kicked to the curb, when this thing is blown up. Another Juaron player who never lived up to his billing, yet still yaps and acts like a clown. -
I'm sick and tired of watchin Marshawn Lynch play like a dog each and every week. He's out of shape aka slow, and doesn't break any of the tackles he used to. Yes, I know our offensive line is pretty damn bad (horrible), but we are clearly better with Freddy on the field than with Marshawn. Today he coughed up the football when we were actually on the move and also dropped an easy pass right on him. He sucks and should no longer be a starter. I'd rather see Freddy touch it 15-25 times and have Lynch see 3-5 carries, that's what he deserves. If we are serious about blowing this thing up in the offseason look for Lynch to be traded for a low draft pick (can't imagine getting more than a 5th rounder for him at this point). I can think of 20 RB's easily who are much better than Lynch and Freddy J is one of them.

How much more would you pay to get your money's worth?
Estro replied to BillsfaninFl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a few addiional season tickets in the Rock Piles as well for family members and agree the Bills could easily get away with charging much more for those sections. The Rock Piles are probably the best price for the location in all of professional sports. It's not even upper deck bleeds! I won't complain. -
How much more would you pay to get your money's worth?
Estro replied to BillsfaninFl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd easily be willing to spend an additional 25-35% if it meant getting legitimate front office guys and coaches. That would put the $630 season tickets in the range of $810. It does seem a bit steep, but I'd like to still be excited about this team in November and December, rather than looking forward to the draft in mid October every season. I think if a 15% increase in ticket prices went directly toward hiring good football guys and we were winning games and competing for the playoffs, the season ticket base would be just as high if not higher than it is now. People want to watch a winner plain and simple, and they're willing to pay to see a winner. Just look at the stub hub prices for Colts home games (a city that isn't exactly known for being a big market, much like Buffalo). A 15% increase means about an additional $4.5 - $5.5 million generated each season, (assuming a 95% occupancy at the games, a near certainty if we were competing every season) which more than covers the cost of getting a big name HC/GM. -
Well apparently oddsmakers have seen enough of the Bills ineptitude this season as well. After making the Titans the biggest favorite they've been all season, the same will will be true for the Jaguars next week: The Jaguars are -8 (-110) or -9 (+105). Just thought I'd share in case anyone wants to jump on it early. My guess is it'll go off at closer to -9 right before game time when it's revealed the Bills have sent another 2-3 starters to IR.

To say that Posluszny is a stud indicates to me you haven't watched a whole lot of football this season. It's a tough argumnet to say that he is even playing average right now. I for one see him being completely exposed each and every Sunday.
-
Is Thomas Jones one of the 5 fastest in the NFL too? Because I watched Poz play an absolute stinker in the Meadow Lands this year, a big reason Thomas Jones had 2 career long runs that game. Is Chris Johnson fast and a great back? Yes Has Posluszny played terrible all year? Yes We need a new MLB next year, for sure. He is way too slow in covwerage and also can not make tackles at the line of scrimmage. Watch Chris Johnson's last TD run. Scott just about had Johnson corraled then Poz comes in gets a piece of Chris Johnson, but more importantly a good piece of Scott enabling Johnson to get away from Scott and get the TD. Watch some film of Winfield Poz, taking out their legs is a lot more effective then trying to take them down chest high.

Where have all the Cutler lovers gone?
Estro replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been sticking to my guns for a long time on Cutler: HE SUCKS. I've been saying it the past 3 seasons, even as most of the media was hyping the guy up hardcore. He became a great fantasy QB, so the hype began, but when it comes to winning and heading a team he's miserable. Like others have said the guy has never had a winning record, not in highschool, not in college, not in the NFL. I don't care how bad his teams were. Even a bling squirrel finds a nut once in a while I watched the guy totally stink up Mile High with a playoff berth on the line versus the lowly Buffalo Bills last season. His non chalant decision making on the field is inexcusable and he will never amount to anything more than a very average, inconsistent QB. BTW the debate as to who you'd rather have on your team seems foolish, because neither of them has the ability to get you to the playoffs, which should be the goal every season. It's like debating who the better Tight end is, Schouman or Fine. Most would probably say Schouman, but what does it really matter? They both suck. -
Vic Carucci says Bills to make major changes
Estro replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's about time they show the fans that they are committed to winning and not just putting butts in the seats. This franchise the last 10 years has been one of the worst in the league. If they do this, and that's a big if, I will consider renewing my season tickets. If they don't say good bye to the season tickets and the 7 hour drives up to Buffalo to watch them stink the joint up. Dream scenario for me is a head coach of either Bill Cowher or Marty Schottenheimer, Cowher probably getting the slight edge. Does anyone know if Cowher was calling the shots, as far as the draft is concerned, during his stint with the Steelers? If so that's a major plus, as they really built teams that knew how to win in the nasty weather, which is what we've been missing for a long time. I'm sick and tired of hearing that the Bills can't afford a big name HC/GM because they don't have the money to do so. They have plenty of money to do so if they so desire, and after the train wreck of this season (the entire decade really) Ralph may finally be forced to do the right thing. It's just a shame it will have taken 10 bad seasons for him to finally buck the trend of hiring inept staffs. -
The bar is set really low this week for me
Estro replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect the Bills to get smoked this Sunday. Chris Johnson will have a field day and Vice Young will convert tons of third downs with his feet. Our LB's should thoroughly be exposed this weekend as usual, and with Trent back well you know the offense will be well......pitiful. 24-13 Titans -
How can he write anything different. The Blls have sucked the last 10 years and his view on the team reflects just that. Great article, BTW, spot on. For some reason you really do get the feeling this team will make the inevitavble run to 7-9 with the last one coming vs. the Peyton Manning'less Colts in Week 17.

4 years for $23 mill comes in a touch under 6 mill per year, which I agree is a bit too much for Greer. But had the Bills extended him the offer they extended him (5 years - $20 million, with a good chunk of that guarenteed) 12 months prior he would have signed it, no doubt.
-
Yes, but do you understand that if the Bills had decided to keep him at the conclusion of the 2007 season then there would have been no need to draft Leodis McKelvin. This means we could've used the #11 pick to help improve the team other than the secondary. How about Ryan Clady who was picked after McKelvin? That's what so many fans don't realize. Yes, we have a good secondary, but we wasted picks to replace guys that we should've resigned. Once they drafted McKelvin the decision had pretty much been made that Greer would walk. Greer had other plans though, after a great 2008 season the Bills were forced to at least make it look like they were serious about resigning him. Ultimately they offered a contract that was a dollar too short and a day too late, and Greer decided it would be better for him to test FA (good move on his part). I believe had Greer ended up resigning with us we probably wouldn't have had the resources to resign McGee after this season and Drayton Florence likely is never targeted by the Bills this previous offseason. The right move by the Bills, though, would've been to resign Greer in late '07 or during the season '08, not draft McKelvin, and then resign McGee like they did. I like the combo of McGee, Greer, and #11 pick not named McKelvin much much more than McGee & McKelvin.

Horrible Drafts-why our FO is to blame for suckitude..
Estro replied to Boatdrinks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like not having the foresight to offer Jabari Greer a contract prior to days before he was headed for FA. The guy did nothing but work his butt off for the Bills and when given the shot began to develop big time on the field. The Bills go ahead and take McKelvin with the #11 pick and Greer once again has an outstanding season and the Bills don't have the resources to resign him because they just invested a lot of money in McKelvin. Why they couldn't have extended an offer to Greer the previous offseason and then used the #11 pick on someone other than McKelvin is beyong me. They're is no doubt in my mind that had the Bills offered Greer the contract they ultimately offered him (5 years - $20 million) 12 months prior, probably even during the '08 season he would've resigned. The Bills simply let him showcase his talent for the rest of the league and then watched him walk to make another team that much better. Watching guys like Greer and Pat Williams and Antoine Winfield make tons of plays for their "new" teams reminds me of why the Bills suck. They lose good players and squander draft picks on worse players in an attempt to replace the players they let walk. -
You mean (trailing by 7 in the 3rd quarter): HB Blast, HB dive, HB sweep to the right side toward our 4th team RT, Fake punt! Play for 4th and short so you have a better opportunity to convert the fake punt. That's Dick Juaron for ya, and don't ever forget it's tough to win/convert fake punts in this league!

What do the Bills have to build around for the future
Estro replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha it's funny because it almost sounds unbelievable. And then you realize the Bills, a professional organization in which people are paid millions of dollars to properly manage teams, did just that. This teams abiltity to think longterm is simply non existent. There is no foresight whatsoever, just a bunch of boneheaded moves that don't even seem to improve the short term.
