  1. Not sure if anyone posted this yet. If so, I apologize. Little insight into the new LB. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/04/19/nfl-draft-reggie-ragland-alabama-film-breakdown-scouting-report
  2. I think there are a of Bills fans that weren't enamored with the Rex Ryan hiring, myself included. I wanted Hue Jackson, who was rumored to believe he had the Bills job, making me think he was probably the Pegulas #2. I'll be watching him closely in Cleveland, I really believe in him.
  3. I think the Bills value Gilmore a lot. I personally like Gilmore, I think he's a nice player.......that said, I don't think he's a stud. If we were able to get him for $11-$12M per I'd be happy to retain his services. The problem is I think he and his agent know they can command a lot more than that on the open market and they are probably right. Josh Norman just signed a 5 year - $75M deal ($15M per). What's even scarier is he gets $20M in year 1, & $17M in Year 2 of that deal. $37M in the first 2 years is obscene. I think that deal is going to create quite a divide between the Bills and Gilmore because Gilmore probably views himself as better than Norman and the Bills probably have no intentions of spending that type of loot on Gilmore. In the end the Bills will want to keep Gilmore's contract as close to Janoris Jenkins contract, which was just signed with the Giants for 5 years - $62.5M ($12.5M/per). Gilmore's camp will anchor in at Revis/Patrick Peterson money which is roughly $14M per year. The compromise will probably be in the $13M per year neighborhood, perhaps with some incentives that can push it to $14M per, so the agent can publicize an inflated deal to the press. It's a lot of money, but in year or 2 it'll probably look a lot better as the cap continues to rise.
  4. I agree with the sentiment that Shaq is slow off the snap. It's one of the many reasons Greg Cosell, of NFL Films was not high on Shaq Lawson as a prospect. I happen to really respect Cosell's opinion, he really delves into the film srudy, and I hope he's wrong, but I see a very average athlete. He appears to be stiff and slow as a pass rusher. I almost wonder if the Bills will want him to shed a few lbs. apparently he had some more juice in '14 when he was 15 lbs. lighter than he did in '15.
  5. I can see Mitchell being a solid #2, with a chance to become a #1. Was pissed to see NE get him. NE also got one of my favorite "developmental" QB's in Brissett yesterday. There is something about him that makes me think he has a chance to be a starter in the NFL more so than many of the other QB projects.
  6. Malcolm Mitchell is the apple of my eye of the WR's left on the board. Speed, Hands, Run after Catch, Tough, oh and Greg Cosell of NFL Films really likes him. Would make a helluva #2 for the Bills.
  7. Astro I noticed Gil Brandt had Jacoby Brissett as his #64 rated prospect in the draft. I think he'll end up being a 3rd or 4th round pick. I'm pretty sure the Bills would have to take him with one of their 4th round draft choices if they had an interest in Brissett.
  8. Another guy who Greg Cosell of NFL Films really likes: Malcolm Mitchell, WR, Georgia Probably could be had in the 3rd-4th round. Very interesting prospect who has a lot of YAC potential.
  9. Last year I remember how anemic our offense looked when Sammy Watkins went down for a couple of weeks. Luckily we had Percy for part of it, before he eventually went down to injury. Now, without Percy or Hogan, I think the Bills would be wise to snag a WR early in this draft if one the Bills value is available. Josh Doctson should be in consideration for the Bills at #19, IMO. He goes up and gets the football like no one else in this draft. He has that attack the football mentality and get it at its highest point, much like Deandre Hopkins had coming out of Clemson, which I love. Another guy I absolutely love is Sterling Shepard. He actually reminds me some of Percy Harvin. He would be a terrific slot WR, and I think he can even play on the outside as a #2 like Percy did. Not sure the Bills would consider Shepard at #19, but I don't think he'll be on the board when we pick in round 2..........so a trade down intrigues me. If we come away with Doctson or Shepard I think our offense can really take a big step forward.
  10. I haven't seen or read too much concern over the Buffalo Bills interior OL. I'm not sure if it's being overlooked amongst fans or what, but I view it as a huge need for the Bills. They are in desperate need for a young quality C or G prospect. Seems like this may be a great year to pluck one in the 2nd to 4th round range. I personally am very interested to see where, Evan Boehm, center, Missouri is drafted. He is an intriguing prospect, who could be a starter at center. Eric Wood's arrow is flat if not pointed down at this point in his career. John Miller was a disaster last year. Incognito, while solid isn't exactly young either. We really need some competition on this roster at G/C. Anybody else like any other prospects that might fit what the Bills are looking for in OL?
  11. Evan Boehm, Center, Missouri That's the player I thought of in the draft who can dominate people. Probably a late 2nd to late 3rd round pick. This guy could replce Wood in a year or 2 and probably upgrade our RG spot now.
  12. Yes they should. The Bills would be absolute fools to not look into every option at the QB position. We still don't have a top flight qb on our roster imo. And until we do the Bills should exhaust every option available to them to find that guy. Until they do the playoffs will remain only a wish and not a reality Yes they should. The Bills would be absolute fools to not look into every option at the QB position. We still don't have a top flight qb on our roster imo. 13. I think the "enamored by Cardale Jones" is a total smoke screen. The fact that it's a LaCanfora story almost seals the deal for me on that one. If it was true, it wouldn't be out there in the media. Whaley, much like Nix, understands that this is the lying season. The time for misinformation is now. I believe the true apple of Whaley and Greg Roman's eye is Paxton Lynch. I'm really starting to become a believer that this kid can be a legit quality NFL QB. Not sure Rex would endorse the idea of a 1st round QB (part of the reason I don't like Rex as HC, but that's another story), let alone one that you might have to trade up for, but I would be on board selecting him if Lynch gets out of the top 10. I do not think he will be available at 19, with teams like DAL at #4, SF at #7, PHI at #8, CHI at #11 and LA at #15, all possible landing spots for a guy like Lynch. If he were to make it past PHI with the 8th pick though, I would get on the phone with the NYG at 10 and see if my 1st and 2nd gets it done. Like I said before, I don't think Rex would be on board with a move like this, and ultimately I don't see it happening, but I'd like to see it. We all know you're nothing in this league without a difference maker at the QB position, and I think Paxton Lynch has all the tools to become that QB. I also truly believe that the Bills are not believers that Tyrod is a franchise, "this guy can take us to the promised land" type of QB. I don't always agree with Bills Polian's opinions, but when that piece came out about what he told the Pegula's (find a QB, don't overpay a stopgap like Tyrod) I agreed with his take. I hope maybe Whaley could convince Rex to get on board because drafting a young QB high might buy him more job security, perhaps that's how you go about getting coaches to buy into the idea. Not that that's a good reason, but I think the player he will become is the reason the Bills should do it One final nugget: I think this is the year Jerry Jones plucks a QB in the 1st round, they've been doing their homework on all of the QB's. In the end I think Paxton Lynch will be their guy over Jared Goff with the #4 pick. But let's say that doesn't happen and he's still on the board when the Giants are on the clock at #10................. How would this board feel if the Bills traded away their 1st and 2nd round picks for the right to move up and take Paxton Lynch? I have the feeling it won't be very popular.
  14. I think the Bills have all the makings to be a perfectly average team. Average coach, average qb. All the makings of a 7 to 8 win team. The only player in the draft with the ability to change this teams fortune was Carson Wentz and since we have no shot at him the wait will continue. Trade the Titans our 1st and 3rd round pick this year. 1st round pick in 2017, Stephon Gilmore, and Robert Woods for the 1st pick. Draft Wentz. Get a future star QB , take your lumps in 2016 and finally feel what it's like to have a better QB than your opponent on most Sundays moving on.
  15. I would still draft Wentz. Having 2 high quality QB's would be a wonderdul problem to have. I do believe Wentz is going to be a top tier QB in the NFL given a few years. I've loved him as a prospect since the first time I heard/saw him play about 2 years ago. He has what I want in a QB: 1 - Steps up into the pocket in the face of pressure 2 - Great pocket mobility 3 - Cannon for an arm 4 - Tall, Thick frame 5 - Big hands 6 - Smart, Leadership qualities
  16. I would draft Carson Wentz. Then offer Mario ta to Chip Kelly for a kings ransom
  17. I believe Revis is an example of that from last year. He had a 2nd year on his deal with the Pats at an astronomical number. The Pats voided the deal. This year they got a 3rd round compensatory pick for losing him. Difference is Percy prob. won't sign with another team in time for it to matter.
  18. I will revisit this post after another 8-8 2016 campaign with a disaster of a head coach, and still no high draft pick to find a QB in the '17 draft and see if you feel the same way my friend. I am just as big a Bills fan as the rest, evidenced by my 15 years as a season ticket holder despite the fact that I live 7 hours drive from the stadium. That does not mean, however, that I must always maintain a postive viewpoint of the Bills despite what the results tell me every single year. I don't see a change coming in '16, like you may, that much is clear. I also find it comical that you point out that the Bills are 90k over the salary cap with many places to save money as if this is a positive. The reality of the situation is that the Bills rank #32, dead last, in salary cap room in the NFL. So let's not even try to spin their salary cap situation as not a problem when it's the worst situation in the league. Every team has big money players they can cut to save a lot of cap room like the Bills, either way you slice it....they are last in the league in space.
  19. And good for him really. Like I said perfect timing for Glenn. He will very likely be the highest paid OT in the history of the league if he hits the open market given the flood of money in the market. Honestly, short term it hurts the Bills. Long term though it helps them. If the Bills have shown us anything the past 15 years it's that paying top money to DT'S, OT'S, RB'S, DE'S and CB'S gets you absolutely no where if you don't have the QB. I still don't believe the Bills have a QB. I'd rather have a shot at drafting high every year to find that guy rather than living in the 7-9 win no man's land we've been in for a decade plus.
  20. No he can not. He will be long gone by draft day due to the timing of roster bonuses which the Bills have no plans on paying
  21. Is Cordy Glenn worth the $13 plus million he'd be owed under the franchise tag? Probably not. Is there any realistic chance of the Bills resigning Glenn prior to the start of FA? Absolutely not unless he and his agent are total dummies. The salary cap for '16 is enormous there are teams that have $70 million in cap space......that's right $70 million (jags and raiders). There are also tons of teams with $30, $40, $50, $60 million in space. FA's are going to be offered a fortune this offseason, so much so that I think it's going to shock a lot of fans. I honestly believe Cordy Glenn and his agent can expect to see a 5 year $70 million on the open market. Remember teams have money to blow....the timing couldn't be better for Cordy. This is why you don't trade for an over priced running back and then tear up his deal and give him even more money folks. Silly moves like those have consequences. Unless Glenn is franchised, which is a possibility, he will be one of the consequences of the asinine deal we gave Lehman McCoy.
  22. If the Bills acquire a QB in this years draft or next years draft that they deem can be their guy, my guess would be that Tyrod won't see a second contract. I think that Bill Polian piece about the Bills gleemed some insight on how the Bills view Taylor......and I think he's a bridge QB.
  23. I would think that would be a strong consideration if next year plays out similarly to this year. My biggest concern with Roman is his philosophy seems to be aligned with Rex in that he want to run the ball a lot. Philosophically I believe that is not the way you succeed in the NFL.
  24. Anybody know what they charged for the yellow sections last year......that's where I sit and I feel like they went way up. I belive it used to be $720....anyone know?
  25. Yes it does sadden me that we missed out on a coach that I believe will be a very good one because we hired one that I believe isn't a very good one. As a fan of the team, I get down when I believe they miss a chance to get better. I thought Hue was a chance to get better, I do not think Rex is the answer. Plain and simple. Hope that clears it up for you..........man.
