  1. Graham is in the last yr. of his deal and likely wouldn't be resigned by Buffalo. He would have to be moved in order for SEA to take on the remainder of Glenn's '17 contract. It's my opinion the Bills would also need/want a mid round draft choice as well as Graham in order to think about moving Glenn. Graham would bring additional value because he would likely get a healthy enough contract this offseason (from another team) to net the Bills a '19 compensatory pick. Probably a 5th or 6th rounder in '19 if he were to sign a deal that paid him close to $5-$6M per season. A 3rd in '18, a 6th in '19 (comp. pick) & an 8 game rental of Jimmy Graham? For Cordy Glenn? Still not sure that's enough. a 2nd rounder in '18 instead of the 3rd OR an additional mid round pick, say a 4th in '19, might convince me. BTW if the Bills were to swing such a deal, I really think they are admitting they don't think they are a playoff team this yr. Might be tough news for Bills fans, but might also be the realistic one.
  2. This $2.99 a month paywall for Buffalo News online articles will not last. If it does it will be the end of the Buffalo News. Nobody, & I mean nobody under the age of 40 pays a monthly paywall. I understand the News needs to find ways to make $$$, but this won't be successful.
  3. 2008: started: 5-1, finished: 7-9 2011: started 4-1, finished 6-10 2012: started 2-1, finished 6-10 2016: started 4-2, finished 7-9 I'm not buying into this team, just because they are currently 3-2. If you want to, proceed with caution. My hope for this team heading into the season was that they were a better team in November and December than they are pre-Halloween. There are just way too many seasons over the last decade where we've gotten off to a nice start only to look like a totally inept, bad football team down the stretch. I hope this yr. is different, but for that to happen this offense is going to have to play a lot better than they have.
  4. When your offense is 2nd to last in the NFL in yards per play (4.4 yards per play). And is dead last in 1st downs per play.....every game ought to worry you. The Bills are not a good football team. The offense is bottom 5 in far too many offensive statistics that I use to gauge a team's ability.
  5. Remember the deadline is Halloween, so there is still plenty of time for a trade to culminate. The Bills are probably the ones that would leak such a story to try and drum up interest. If I had to guess the Bills are probably asking for a 3rd rounder and a young relatively unknown player on a cheap rookie deal. I do remember them wanting to sign CB, DeShawn Shead this offseason before he ended up resigning with the Seahwaks. I see he's still on the PUP. I'd be pleased with Shead and a 3rd.
  6. If you're the least bit objective and have 2 eyeballs it's very plain to see the Bills need a QB. If all the fans sitting in the stands and watching on T.V. can see, so can Donald Jones and the players on the team. I actually had a conversation with a very prominent offensive player on the Bills about 3 weeks ago in which the Bills needing to find a QB was discussed. The player was PC and smart enough to not just come right out and say Tyrod isn't cutting it, but in a round about way that's pretty much exactly what he said. I always disagree with the......"well if you give him a good O-line, a great running game, an excellent defense, wings & a pet unicorn he might be a pretty good QB" argument. Good QB's lift the entire offense around them. That's the whole reason good QB's are good, they cover up other areas of vulnerability in the team. Tyrod hides no vulnerabilities if anything he accentuates them. That's what happens with middling QB's. Just look at what happened to the Packers today. The entire team looked like total garbage with Brett Hundley, even the coaching looked bad, because they had no confidence in him to convert 4th and shorts that they clearly should have gone for.
  7. No. The main reason being Tyrod Taylor. He has no ability to throw the ball with any consistency. Until the Bills find a QB that opposing defenses respect/fear they will be a 6-9 win team like they've been the last decade and a half.
  8. I've been down with Tyrod since the opener last yr. vs. the Ravens. He's a QB that will win you 6 to 9 games depending on how the ball bounces. The clunkers, like he put up today are way too frequent to consider him anything more than a placeholder. The Bills should turn to Peterman, not because we know he's better, but because we know Tyrod isn't good enough, so let's see if he can be better.
  9. Very well said. That's exactly how I feel, and even though I felt good about 3-1, I knew this feeling was coming. Our offense is painful to watch. Tyrod is a poor QB who consistently finishes towards the top of 3 & out %. Today he had the game served up to him for a W on a silver platter and he came up so small. Today I feel just like I did in August. This is a 6-8 win team who needs to find a Qb who can see the field and throw an accurate ball.
  10. Some Clay, some Mccoy, mixed in with a little Zay, O'Leary, Holmes, Keep in and DiMarco. It's going to be tough sledding but I see the Bills trying to get the ball in a bunch of different people's hands. The type of game where like 8 different people catch a pass. Can we do that? Not sure, but absent a monstrous game from McCoy I think that will be the formula to sneak out a win on the road.
  11. For a 1st rounder, yes. For a 2nd rounder, probably. For a 3rd rounder, probably not.
  12. I started to have serious concerns about Tyrod after last years opener vs. the Ravens where he played much like the game this past Sunday and just couldn't do anything in the passing game. I was officially done with him after the Raiders game in '16, where he couldn't make 1 pass to save his life the entire 2nd half when the team so badly needed him to. He is not a good enough passer, and his apologists who say to look at his YPA, his running ability and his lack of turnovers I say no thanks. There is a reason the Bills were designed to lead the league in rushing the last 2 years.....it's because they knew they had a QB that can't win in the pocket and can't consistently throw the ball. He has 31 full games as the Bills starter: He's thrown for 195 yards or less in 16 games He's thrown for 300 or more yards once (and that was the OT game vs. MIA last yr.) That isn't good no matter how you try and slice it.
  13. Truth be told: Trevor Siemian is a much better passer than Tyrod, and it's not even close. This offseason there were some murmurs that the Bills would be interested in Siemian if Denver let him loose, there were also rumors of the Jets being interested. When these rumors were swirling I went back and rewatched 4 of his games from last year. I was impressed. He was a player that I really only heard negative things about and I came away pretty impressed with 2 of the most important aspects to a QB's game: 1- Accuracy, 2- Pocket Presence He takes some awful sacks, but overall I'd much prefer him under center to Tyrod Taylor.
  14. I tend to agree. He at least gets the ball out on time. There is some semblance of timing to the offense with Peterman slinging it. I can't remember one time Tyrod hit his back foot and let the ball go yesterday. He was awful. A D+ effort at QB wins us the game yesterday, unfortunately Tyrod went out and laid out a big fat F. But that's what he is.....one of the worst passing QB's. McDermott had a pretty bad game too, which was probably more disappointing since he's going to be here long after Tyrod is gone.
  15. Don't forget the 5th round pick we got from the Pats for signing Gilislee became Nathan Peterman.
  16. Great value here for the Jets. They get a 2nd rounder and a low end #2 WR for a guy on an expiring contract that they didnt want to resign. Richardson also has a fat contract and I believe he's one slip up away from a long suspension. Im actually quite surprised the Jets got a 2 for him. Well played.
  17. 1. Shady 2. J. Williams 3 (tie). Banyard (runs like J. Will), Taiwan Jones (runs like Shady, plus has ST value) I guess Tolbert is a lock to make the team, but I guess that means we'll have to cut Banyard.
  18. The JMS is brutal. I don't listen and when I do I realize why I dont
  19. Josh Rosen is the apple of my eye when it comes to QB. I think he is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck. The 2 most important traits in good QB's, IMO, are accuracy and the ability to step up and slide around int he pocket & I think he excels @ both. If he doesn't come out in '18 I wouldn't be too upset though. The Bills are probably a 6-8 win team this year so getting into the top 3 would cost a fortune. We have a lot of draft ammo in '18 but with some smart draft day trades maybe we can move around a little and pick up extra high picks for the '19 draft if that's when these stud QB's eventually come out.
  20. On the record: I think it's the smart, prudent move. We are a 6-9 win team with the guys we traded away today. Why? We don't have a good enough QB. And how do most teams find their franchise signal caller? High in the 1st round. And how can you get high in the draft? Having a lot of draft capital. The Bills now have a ton of draft capital. Here's to turning it into Josh Rosen.
  21. Mike Williams, WR. A big, slower WR who physically dominated CB's in college but won't be able to do the same in the pros. Now he's dealing with a back injury that sounds ominous. He might keep the Mike Williams name curse in tact.
  22. Precisely. Couple that with McDermott, Beane and even Pegula all claiming you build through the draft. You can't say that & then forgo valuable & more importantly free mid round draft picks in favor of singing C-level FA's when you have a team predicted to win 7 games. At some point this team needs to get smart and backup their words with intelligent roster building.
  23. So if it is week 10, this gives me hope Beane will find a way to recoup the 3rd rounder. If it looks like we are out of the running for a playoff push after week 9 (say 4-5) it will be a lot easier for Beane to make the wise decision & acquire the 3rd rd. comp. pick by cutting a few backups.
  24. I started the thread in March that the Bills were making a big mistake losing out on 3rd and 4th round comp. picks for the departures of Gilmore and Woods by signing too many C-level FA's. It started a firestorm of reactions from those that agreed to those that thought comp. picks are totally overrated. I was happy to see Matthew Fairburn & Joe Buscaglia both bring it up this week. Fairburn actually directly asked Beane about it in his last presser, and Beane was well aware of it. I actually had a ? about how we can recoup that 3rd round pick though. I understand we need to cut 3 of the qualifying FA additions, the most likely being Ryan Davis, Andre Holmes and Vlad Ducasse. I see Micah Hyde, Steven Hauschka, Jordan Poyer & Patrick Dimarco as near locks, in that order. My ? is when do they need to be cut, to not count as FA additions? Is it before week 1, or is it before week 10? For some reason I thought they can play a certain amount of games before qualifying as an addition? Can someone please let me/us know.
  25. After listening to Leslie Frazier's presser and also some comments from Sal C. it seems hes quite a ways away from being healthy. I dont think the team thinks hes going to be ready to help them this yr., from the sounds of it. Then the ? becomes how does this staff view his skill set moving forward. If hes an odd fit perhaps they'd consider moving him for a 4th or 5th round pick to a LB needy team, but cutting him and getting nothing in return makes no sense. For the record, I hope the Bills (last regime and new regime) would stop trading up in round 2 and paying through the nose to do so. The past 2 drafts we've parted with two 4th round picks & two 5th round picks to move up slightly for Ragland and Dawkins.
