  1. It is a pretty generic comment by Lombardi. Kind of lame to put that out there without some details, which a lot of these guys love to do
  2. At this point I'd be pretty upset if any of them pulled the plug....maybe with the exception of Gore or Kroft who seem more likely to play as reserves. I like both WR signings quite a bit
  3. Let's hope none of the Bills signees has a change of heart prior to these signings becoming official at 4PM today. Lombardi had a tweet early this morning saying hes hearing Barr might not be the only one.....first thing I thought of was Beasley or Brown.
  4. I think trading high picks (which I consider 1st and 2nd rounders) for vets looking for huge $$$ is bad practice in the NFL. Draft picks are gold because the rookie contracts are so low. Just think of the value of contracts like Matt Milano, Dion Dawkins......you're literally paying .10-.20 on the dollar for what that player would be worth on the open market. You are forgoing the opportunity to get a player at a great price only to hand over an astronomical money to a player on his second contract. It's sexy and exciting when it happens, but in the long run it's bad business.
  5. This is one I want to stay away from. I'm all for drafting a 3rd or 4th round back and moving on from Shady, who I think is shot, but I think its foolish to spend heavy at the RB position. I'd much rather have $12-$15M per year be spent elsewhere on the roster, rather than at the RB position. That would be a very foolish move and unfortunately one I could see the Bills making, because they've proven time and time again that they are a foolish franchise.
  6. I really like Noah Fant. He is such a weapon in the passing game and big too....he looks like Gronk, the way he plays
  7. I always find this argument flawed. Just because you have a lot of $$$ doesnt mean you can start handing out reckless deals. Every player needs to be evaluated based on their production and value to the team vs. the amount of money the team is paying them. A $4.5M deal handed out to a player that grades out at best as a replacement level player is a $2-$3M overpay whether you have $100M to blow or you have $0. The team might think Phillips has room to grow, and the 1 year deal, in their eyes, might keep him from becoming complacent.......but based off of his production with the team in '18, he was at best replacement level. I believe the key to roster building is understanding the 30-40 guys on your roster that are the the replaceable parts.....and not fooling yourself into 08 overpaying for them just because their "yours". That means being disciplined enough to not overpay a marginal player who's production can almost certainly be replaced for the veteran minimum.
  8. An average player, I'm hoping the contract shows it. Not saying that in a negative way, average players are valuable in the NFL as long as their salary indicates that. In guessing Jordan Phillip's m8hhtve won this negotiation. Anything more than $3.5-$4M is an overpay IMO
  9. I watched a few of his games last season. He looked sluggish. Lot of negative rushes. Late round flyer, didn't look like a top 4 round pick to me.
  10. The Bill's offered him a 3 year deal last offseason that O belov was in the $7M per yr range. He turned our offer down to sign a 1 year, $5 M prove it deal with the Ravens. Strange, he either really didnt like Buffalo or was concerned about the QB situation. Allen may have been better than many expected but the passing #s were still atrocious. Not sure he'd have interest signing here, when we already were the high bidders last year and he said no. The third team that showed interest in him last offseason was the Raiders.
  11. It's amazing how dumbed down some of these sports media outlets have become, barstool sports might top the list for that award.
  12. I think OBJ would despise playing in a market like Buffalo. Hes a whiny brat in NYC, I'd be very fearful of his antics playing in Buffalo.
  13. I dont think trading for Flacco takes QB in the 1st round off the table for the Broncos. They traded a 4th rounder for Flacco, he's 34 years old, he hasn't been a good QB in a while and most importantly his remaining 3 years have no dead cap of and when hes cut. I view him as a stopgap that they like a little bit more than their current stopgap in Case Keenum. I also view the move as a slight smokescreen to get teams to believe "well the Broncos aren't taking a QB in the 1st." I happen to believe they will.
  14. Very little. He looked slow, stiff, and small last season. I couldn't believe how lean he looked late in the season. Might explain his PED use, he looks like a guy that really struggles to keep his weight up.
  15. At 2:07 in the video....he forces the fumble....... Then wants to celebrate while the ball is still rolling around on the turf waiting to be recovered. It makes me seethe when defensive players dont have the awareness to finish a play so they can celebrate. Call it low awareness, call it selfish, whatever you call it, its a trait you hate to see in a prospect. Also it looks like his go to move is outside speed, that wont work as well in the NFL where the tackles are much more capable.
  16. Goff He's a slightly better, although much less athletic, version of Ryan Tannehill. He has the benefit of playing with a better coach in a more QB friendly scheme. He was not good the last 8-10 games this season. Speed him up in the pocket and things get ugly.
  17. After tonight, Julian Edelman is approaching that mantle......and yes, Gronk is the best TE to ever do it
  18. Trading down is always a smart move. 2nd and 3rd rounders are amazing assets for roster building, where you can find solid starters for bargain basement money. I'm always a proponent of trading down and picking up picks this year or next. This team has a ton of needs and I'd rather have 4 or 5 top 100 picks rather than 3. Unfortunately, the Bills in the last 2 drafts have shown a bad habit of blowing 2nd and 3rd rounders to do just the opposite: and trade up for the guys they just have to have. Not smart and also not surprising.
  19. I'd be all for their reunion. As long as it doesn't happen to be on the Bills roster.
  20. Eric Moulds. Give me his 1998 season. 1368 receiving yards. 20.4 yards per reception. Man he looked good in that blue uni with the red helmets. I hope one day those mid to late 90s unis are worn as the throwbacks w/ the red helmets.
  21. No brainer, he won't get the option. He's not worth anywhere near the option #, which was $9.1M for a DE this past year (expect that to climb to about $9.5M this year.) If by mid season he looks to be a player you'd like to keep around go ahead and offer him a 3 year extension, but I don't see the benefit of the team picking up the option, simply because the # just so far exceeds his value.
  22. Mike Klis‏Verified account @MikeKlis 2h2 hours ago More Mike Klis Retweeted Rick Stroud Sean Kugler interviewed with Vikings this week, and is expected to interview with Arizona Cardinals this weekend. Signs point to Munchak as Broncos' O-line coach and Kugler could be Cards' O-line coach. #9sports
